After fun filled days at Galveston Beach and the Strand, WELCOME HOME TO MERMAID COTTAGE!! Meticulously appointed, with every detail thought of for your comfort, you’ll find yourself in a lovely corner cottage that feels more like an exclusive resort! 3 bedrooms 2 baths, central air and heat, 9 blocks to beach with easy access ramp near. Local favorite eateries within several blocks.
Queen beds with BEAUTIFUL linens in all bedrooms, with flat screen televisions, chest of drawers and ceiling fans, luggage racks in bedroom 1 and 2 full length mirrors and clothes hooks in all closets. Alarm clocks with USB ports. A Food Lover’s Dream Kitchen, with coffee bar, dining room for 10. Game table in living room accommodates 8. 5 bicycles of various sizes for your use. Laundry room with washer and dryer. Although comfortable, our house is not toddler friendly.
We have realized that it is best for your stay and our home that we must limit it to children 13 or older.

Galveston Charming

2nd stay at this home. Seems like home, everything you need for a vacation. Love the charm of the house, the coffee bar, the dining table options and th front porch. Will definitely stay agaain.

4th of July Getaway

I loved this house!!! Home is beautiful. It had everything we needed and more. It was such a cozy home and well decorated. Home was closed to everything. Charlie answered text messages promptly. We were 3 couples and had plenty of room. We really enjoyed this home and will most definitely rent it again.

Weekend getaway

We went to Galveston to celebrate our daughters birthday. This home was so nice, clean and cozy. They go above and beyond to make sure you have an enjoyable stay. They have games you can play, bikes to ride, and boogie boards to enjoy the waves! It was a memorable experience and we will be back!!!

Much needed

I love going to Galveston. This was a much needed vacation with family. We have rented on the west beach, I'm glad we decided to rent closer in town. The house is beautiful and the location is great. The house was equipped with anything you would want. We were not able to use the golf cart.

Always great, multi-time renter

I've said this before about this property, THIS is how your do short term rentals. They should write a book, everything is perfect. This is our 4th or 5th time to stay and if you're smart, you'll quit reading right now, hope they have availability and just book it!

Perfect get away

We loved this house . All the small details and the house guide was so helpful. The kitchen window is beautiful. Spent time on the front porch visiting and enjoying the neighborhood. Will definitely be back!

4th of July in Galveston

We checked into the house and found all we thought the house would be and more. We found everything we even thought we might need in the house and available. Easy walk down the street to watch the 4th display of fireworks. Took lawn chairs that were provided and the weather was just right. I highly recommend this house and the hosts. They response right away to any questions you might have. Love it and a great seafood place just 5 minutes walk from the house Shrimp and Surf I think is the name. Not a fancy restaurant but just great food.

Absolutely Perfect!

It's even more beautiful in person. The home was spotless and completely stocked with everything we needed. The furniture was comfortable and clean. The parking was easy and there was plenty of space. They had everything we needed for the beach. The laundry room was stocked and the machines were clean and fast. The beds were so comfortable and had plenty of linens and pillows. The AC cooled the house with no issues. The communication was fast and friendly. This will be our new place in Galveston for sure!!!

Great location

Great location, whether you were going to the beach, off on a fishing trip or headed to the Strand to shop. Clean well stocked with a great layout. Really love that all the beds were large. Thank you so much to the host. They were absolutely amazing.

Loved it!

The house is adorable and well stocked! It's also in a good, quiet location. We would definitely stay there again! Also a big plus was the prompt response from the property owner. Overall, a great stay!

Super Host

This was our 2nd stay, THIS is how you run a short-term rental! Super, super clean. Well stocked doesn't begin to describe the house, everything from a 2nd frig w water (two sizes), full stocked kitchen with utensils and spices 90% of most homes don't have. Forget the other rentals where you get a half roll of TP and paper towels. They have rolls and rolls... plus q-tips, cotton balls, multiple soaps, conditioners, shampoos, need hydrogen peroxide? they got it. Need coffee? How about 3-4 kinds with several ways to perk. I love the little things... like how they label everything, all the lights, what remote goes where, even a laminated (very short) check out list. It's our 2nd stay and we will book again!

Best Stay Yet

Where do I start?! House was kept clean and tidy and very well maintained. Kitchen was fully stocked with cooking essentials, the coffee bar was perfect, even had charging cables for us in each room! The host were so accommodating and flexible with us. Each room/bathroom had everything we needed for our 3 day/2night stay. Location was close to restaurants and the beach and they even provided beach essentials! Can’t wait to stay here again!

Amazing Beach House

This is easily one of the best rental properties we have stayed at. The house was so charming, very clean, and exceptionally stocked. There were dozens of towels in both bathrooms and the kitchen had everything we needed to cook at the house for multiple meals. There were helpful notes all throughout the house so we could easily find anything we needed. There was a large beach wagon for our use and outside shower to rinse off when we returned. This house made our Galveston visit so enjoyable and we will absolutely be returning!

24th Birthday Stay

We booked this to celebrate my daughters 24th birthday and the house did not disappoint. Beautiful furnishings and fully equipped with everything a family needs. My only comment would be that the road running outside the house was quite busy - although I fully understand that there is nothing the owners can do about that. The house is beautiful and comfortable and we would happily visit again

Awesome location to the sea wall, strand or beach!

Everything we needed was there! Stocked coffee bar, extra fridge in garage and the house was spacious and beautifully decorated! Definitely would stay there again.

Very enjoyable!

We really enjoyed our stay. The place was near town and had all of the amenities we needed. Multiple rooms, comfortable beds, and a large kitchen and dining area. We will definitely return!

Cozy and full of character

My daughter and I enjoyed our stay at the Mermaid Cottage while in town for a dance competition. It was just a quick drive to the convention center, and just a few blocks from the beach. We slept so well in the comfy beds and enjoyed playing games on the comfy sectional. My daughter wants to go back and bring her friends! We also loved the light feature in the living room, so fun!

THIS is how you do a VRBO folks

We've all done the rental where it's "stocked" with 2-3 pans, 1 roll of toilet paper, two towels in the bath and maybe a half used shampoo bottle, one poll of paper towels and salt+pepper makes up the spice selection. NOT HERE! Need a Q-tip? packs in every bath. Need some ear plugs to sleep? disposable ones in the nightstands Do you Jones for Water? select from filtered, dozens and dozens of small bottles and/or large bottles in the outside frig... or use one of the 2 gallon dispensers. Or fill up the cooler and take some with you. Are you a "Cups to go" person?... select from red solo (and blue, green, yellow) , small plastic, or styrofoam. Do I even need to explain how the kitchen is? Let's just say unless you're Emeril Lagasse your house isn't stocked like this. and labeled, by drawer (wow). Each bath has about a dozen towels and washcloths. Fully stocked with things like shampoo, shower cap, conditioner(s), body wash, bath balm, baby shampoo, cotton balls... and more. Walgreens doesn't have this kind of selection. The furniture and furnishings were in great shape, very clean, not worn in any way. Our group said it made us feel very comfortable and relaxed like your own family home, not sterile and stripped bare for rental use. Like soft evening lights? they have them! set on a timer, on at dusk, off after 4-5 hours. What haven't they thought of. We were in town for the Ironman 70.3 but I did notice the outdoor shower, right by the garage entrance, for those coming back from the beach. I saw 3-5 bikes of all sizes, beach toys, multiple outdoor grills, games, a 2nd frig in the garage, so much more I can't even remember. It's just so good getting somewhere and not feeling like you have to go to the store and spend $50 getting super basic supplies like TP, a spice or two, and even zip locks (obviously they had different bag sizes, foil, cling wrap and tupperware). They text you so you can reach them at any time. we never felt that if there were any issues or questions an answer wasn't a few seconds away from being answered. This is how you run a VRBO, I told Charlie he should give classes on how it's done!
