The Hemlocks is a darling, cozy cottage right on wonderful, serene Lake Rescue, and imbues old-world cottage charm, is sparkling clean, and is as cute as it gets. All modern amenities, and featuring an awesome hot tub (bathrobes provided!), outside shower, kayaks/canoe, swim toys, and close to bustling Ludlow, skiing, and nearby quintessential Vermont villages, outdoor recreation, etc. Bedrooms include 2 queens and a twin bunk-bed upstairs, and a pullout sofa in den downstairs. Cuddle up by the fire, or the outside bonfire pit. This is our second home, so many games, personal amenities, kitchen basics, books, etc., provided. Just re-listed on VRBO - All 5-star reviews from previous listing!

Great family getaway!

The house is gorgeous and very comfortable! The view of the lake is amazing. This is a perfect family spot. Very safe for kids and nice and quiet at night. We are a family of gamers so we loved the outside and inside tables. I would love to come back here every year!

Comfortable Lake House Near Okemo

This property was perfect for our family to enjoy a Feb ski vacation. Great location just minutes from the mountain, parking and great views of the lake. Barb the owner, was attentive and provided useful recommendations of local attractions. The house was very well equipped for our family to enjoy time together before and after time skiing Okemo. Highly recommended.

Family getaway

The lake house was a welcome break from the poor skiing conditions. We especially enjoyed the new large hot tub and the dining area which doubled as a game playing table.

Cozy, charming, beautiful location!

This house was so homey, charming and perfect for our family! Gorgeous outlook over the lake - it had everything we needed and the host was so communicative and kind. Would absolutely stay again!

Great Christmas Week Vacation

My family and I enjoyed this cozy house over the winter break. It was even peaceful in the rain! My skiers had a great time at Okemo.....only complaint not enough fresh powder😅

Perfect Location

If you want to have all the outdoor options, this is the spot! Right on the lake and minutes from Okemo, this house would be magical in either the winter or summer! It was a bit rustic but we liked that aspect and made our stay even more of a break from the daily grind. Also, the owner was so kind and accommodating!

Perfect home for ski wknd with friends

Had a blast— perfectly located near Okemo, restaurants, grocery store etc on a beautiful lake with a hot tub to overlook it. House is adorable and cozy with comfy beds and a lovely fireplace. Got a huge dumping of snow while we were there and Barbara was communicative with us triaging snow removal and generous when we encountered some delays with it. Would love to come back here again.

The best little ski house!

We had an absolute wonderful stay at the Hemlocks! It is definitely the cutest and coziest ski house we’ve ever stayed in! We are a family of 6 and it was perfect for us. The location is truly 5 minutes from Okemo Mountain, which was awesome. The beds were very comfortable and the hot tub was delightful! Highly recommend for a ski getaway.

PERFECT ski vacation hotel

This house was perfect. Homey, charming, close to town and right in between Okemo and Killington. I want to live here forever!! Honestly, it was the best VRBO home we've stayed in. Barbara was communicative and friendly, and left clear instructions on everything about the house, hot tub, amenities and info about the surrounding area. I cannot think of one single thing that could have been improved for our stay. It was amazing. I would highly recommend and I will be back next year!

Cozy Cottage

We enjoyed our stay at this cozy cabin that overlooked the lake. The house had everything we needed for a skiing/hiking vacation. We enjoyed the quiet location - it was a quick 5 min drive to the town of Ludlow and Okemo and about 20 minutes to Killington. We enjoyed fires in the fireplace in the evenings and loved the view of the lake and mountains. The host was very welcoming and there was even a small Christmas tree and winter decorations for the holiday season. We’d definitely stay here again.

Labor Day 2022

A+ start to finish. Excellent communication with the host and the property was fantastic, inside and out. Nice neighbors and a beautiful lakeside neighborhood. Honestly couldn’t have asked for more.

Cozy cottage in great location

We had a fantastic stay in Ludlow. The cottage was so cute and cozy. Loved the fireplace by the kitchen and living room. Just had such a relaxing, snowed in vibe. Kids loved the outdoor hot tub. Kitchen was well equipped and owner gave great instructions for everything. Location to Okemo was ideal. Can’t wait to stay here again!

FANTASTIC SKI RETREAT!!! BEAUTIFUL PROPERTY AND AMENITIES!

Our family of 4 had a wonderful ski vacation in this fantastic home. This property is a second home, NOT merely an investment rental property and that is reflected in the way it is lovingly maintained. Beautiful view of the lake and a quick drive to the slopes. Great and timely communication with the owner. Can't wait to stay here again!!!

Cozy Holiday Tranquility!

Our family loved spending Christmas weekend at the Hemlocks. My husband said to me, "this place reminds me of the cottage in your favorite Christmas movie, The Holiday." He is right! Clean and cozy, wood burning fire, comfortable beds, antiques and books galore. Kitchen has everything you need, plenty of towels. My kids (age 4 and 5) LOVED the bunk room. The view from the hot tub was amazing. I could go on and on...just the peaceful weekend we needed.

Great stay near okemo

We have been renting for years near okemo and rarely stay at the same spot but will definitely be back here again. Great location, beautiful views and super comfortable setup. Very well thought out for renters. Loved the little Christmas tree.

Cute property!

What a nice rental! So many amenities there at the house, beautiful views and a very responsive owner. Neighbors are a little close, but it seems like if you really want to be on the lake you are going to be close to other homes. And the landscape on the property was done well and helps provide nice privacy. Will definitely consider renting this property again!

Magic Shed!

Wonderful! That is the best way to sum up this home. The quintessential family lake house I dreamed of. Every time we thought of something - anything, really - the answer was "check the book and then check the shed." Fishing poles, life jackets, paddles, water toys - you name it and it was in the shed with directions in the book. Thank you, Barb!

The Perfect Getaway!

My friends and I could not have asked for a better long weekend away. The Hemlocks cottage is the perfect home away from home. Absolutely adorable and every amenity you could want! First, the cottage was super clean! From the bedrooms to the common areas everything was clean and organized. The cottage was well stocked from kitchenware to linens to outdoor amenities and everything in between. The beds were unbelievably comfortable and the water pressure in the shower was fantastic! As far as amenities...we were lucky to have a great weather weekend! We loved being able to use the grill and eat outside with a beautiful view of the lake. The hot tub was amazing, extra large and able to fit everyone very comfortably with a ton of room. Can't say enough about this perfect cottage getaway!

Perfect quaint winter get away with the family

Just returned from our stay with my wife and two children. Our goal was to have a quiet, relaxing and almost isolating get away after the fast pace rate of life. That’s exactly what we got! We had the fireplace lit, played a lot of board games, read books, went out to the hot tub, and stayed cozy. The communication with the host was fantastic. Highly recommend.

Beautiful, Cozy, Vermont Charm at its Finest!

We had an absolutely perfect stay in Barb's home. There is obviously a lot of love and care put into maintaining the home. We particularly enjoyed the fireplace, the hot tub, the shower and the beds were also super comfy. Barb was quickly responsive to questions, and they leave detailed guides on where to find things and how to care for the home. It's a very short drive from Okemo, and situated in a picturesque setting on the lake. We look forward to returning and recommending to our friends! Thanks for a memorable week!

Great Weekend!!!

We had such a wonderful time at Barb’s house!! The home, as well as the location, are beautiful, the beds are comfortable, the hot tub is awesome and it’s right near the mountain. This is our second time this year and we hope to make it back!!

We purchased the cottage from my cousin in 2004, and renovated it with great care and attention to detail. I am a retired university professor with 2 grown daughters. I'm very active, love to ski, and my favorite time in the world is being at the lake. It is my second home and expect my guests to treat it with respect and care!
