This Greek revival house is on a quiet street in the heart of Edgartown. The original part of the house is over 150 years which gives it character. The seemless integration of old and new means that all modern amenities are included. 2018-19 renovation includes new kitchen with quartz counters, central HVAC and all new bathrooms.
4 bedroom, 2.5 bath house sleeps 8 with private enclosed yard, covered porch, outdoor seating and dining patio with grill, outdoor shower, and landscaped yard. Lovely landscaping includes fruit trees, herbs, vegetable and flower beds. Convenient walking to everywhere in town, beaches, tennis, playground, shopping and bike path. King master BR with ensuite bath, king or Twin XL BR, queen BR and twin BR, hall bath with double sink, Downstairs has Living room, Dining room, half bath and kitchen. The back porch is our summer living room adjacent to the patio with a teak table that seats 8-10.

I grew up in my grandparents house two blocks from here. I was a life long summer resident who loves the Vineyard and now lives here year round. We just completed a second major renovation of the house after 22 years in it. We love to sail, kayak, bike, play tennis and swim. Our grandchildren love the nearby playground and easy beaches. Our children love the nearby tennis, golf and basketball.

This house is conveniently located in downtown Edgartown but on a one block street with off-street parking. We love its convenient walk to everything in town, yet quiet location. We bought this house in 1996 because it needed love and lot of attention, which we gave it by renovating it from the basement up and creating lush gardens outside. The latest (2018) renovation includes HVAC, new kitchen cabinets with quartz countertop, expanded master bedroom and bath, two new baths and new windows throughout. The location is easy walking or biking distance to everything which means our car often sits for days in the driveway. Bikes are the all important means of transport.

Walk to everything in town or bike to nearby beaches, groceries, etc. The convenience of not using a car is critical during the busy summer. The sitting porch is our summer living room. We often eat outside on the terrace or lounge in the yard in our quiet neighborhood when we get back from our day's activities.
The Vineyard has long drawn sailors, artists and fishermen. Today it draws tourists and celebrities alike with its locavore attitude toward good food, the quality of the light, the great beaches and the extensive amount of land in conservation. As an old whaling town, Edgartown has a particularly gorgeous waterfront that attracts sailors, artists, lovers of well preserved old homes. The weather is fabulous relative to the Northeast given the mild location in the Gulf Stream. The quality of the light on the island pulls artists.
