Great location for attending events at the Shenandoah Valley Music Festival

We rented this property for two nights in order to be close to the event venue where we were attending a concert. It was perfect for that - less than a 10 minute drive. The kitchen is very small, but was adequate for our purposes in eating breakfasts and dinners there. Overall, the unit was clean, but there were a few items in the kitchen that could have used a good scrub. Use of the large TV required connecting the Fire Stick to an Amazon account, and we never could get that to work - which would have been much more of a problem if we had been staying there longer.

A great last minute stay

This stay was from 7th May for 10 days but we had already spent the previous 2 weeks in the area, liked it so much and decided to stay longer. The area is quiet at this time of year but that suited us just fine. Lake Laura access is a short walk away and provided an enjoyable hiking route. Anayas' property provides a great base for seeing the local area.

Five Star Host and Property

Super comfortable, Super Clean and Super Host. Anaya has EVERYTHING taken of! All the comforts of home and plenty of everything that you need for a relaxing. stress free stay. Highly recommend this peaceful and comfortable ‘Chalet’. My family of 4 (adult) thoroughly enjoyed our Thanksgiving week :)

Excellent vacation

We really enjoyed our stay - the house is very comfortable and nicely located within the walking distance to Laura lake, where we enjoyed swimming, biking and running. Excellent place for a relaxing family vacation, we will definitely come back!

Relaxing stay in Basye

We had a wonderfully relaxing stay in Basye. The house was clean, well furnished, and quiet. While some of the fixtures and decor were a little dated, everything was very functional and well laid out, as well as very adequate for our family of four. House is very well situated minutes from Lake Laura and short drives from caverns, scenic hikes, battlefields, and wineries. Host was also super responsive throughout our four-night stay. Nearby restaurants were closed while we were there but we were happy to cook most of our meals in the unit's kitchen. We would definitely look forward to staying here again.

Super-Fabulous communication!

This was a great experience! The house had everything we needed and then some. It was quiet and in a beautiful area super-close to Bryce. Perfect directions for getting the door unlocked! Everything was clearly explained! Place was very clean and warm and cozy. The host was absolutely fantastic to work with, she always answered right away and was super-helpful! We will definitely come back again! Thank you!

Cute place

This was a great place for a weekend getaway. The front door was a little tricky to open due to the lock just being older and moving around a bit but overall it was great. Cute view. Appreciated the fact that there was parking right in front of the house.

Overall a great property to stay at to be close to Bryce Resort and the mountains. The property was clean and well kept. It is about 6 minutes away from Bryce Resort and a very convenient drive.

Nice winter getaway

A nice long weekend in Shenandoah Valley, VA. The area is beautiful. The check-in/check out-process was smooth and we appreciated the owner letting us know what was close by and that the closest grocery store was a bit of a drive. There is a Liberty gas/community store close by that we took advantage of and we also enjoyed a couple of beers at Bayse Brew Hollow, which is next door. Hit 2 wineries that were very nice, too. If you're coming to Basye in the winter months, definitely make sure to check the hours as many places are closed during the week. The house was located within a short walking distance to the Lake Laura trail and so that was one of our family activities. Other activities were Luray Caverns (don't miss!) and Shenandoah Nat'l Park, however, Skyline Drive was mostly closed due to ice and so we were not able to do much there. As for the property itself, we did have a few issues. The steps leading to the front door were iced over the entire time. The upstairs bathroom sink clogged the first time we used it and needed to be plunged, but it was a quick fix. The dishwasher is old and leaked a little when we ran it, so we opted to wash by hand. The kitchen could be a bit better equipped with a dish drain, more bowls, forks, spoons, knives, etc. There are plenty of pots and pans, though. The house is dated in a lot of ways (microwave is also old), but is definitely roomy, comfy and clean and there is a very nice balcony overlooking the woods. Not pictured on the website is a 50-inch LG TV, which was nice. We were easily able to keep the bottom floor a comfortable temperature. The upstairs is a bit chillier. The neighborhood is very quiet (at least in the winter). Lots of pretty cabins to see on hilly gravel roads. Overall, it was a positive experience. Would not mind coming back to Basye when Bryce is offering summer activities, like ziplining.

Very comfortable home, extra kitchen supplies were bought for us for the Thanksgiving meal!

Very comfortable home, very clean , owner very responsive . Price is right ! I would recommend .

Impeccably clean

The place was impeccably clean. When it was hot and muggy outside, the central AC was a big plus. We found it to be spacious, comfortable, and well stocked for our needs. We spent a lovely, calm day at lake Laura. It was pretty easy to get kayaks, snacks, etc. We loved our stay and would highly recommend to my friends and family.

Nice location

Anaya was accessible and made check in and out very easy. The place is driving distance to the lake (maybe not the best spot for Covid...too close quarters and hardly any shallow area), and a bunch of wineries (highly recommend old hill cidery). The decor is very dated, but everything was spotlessly clean. Thanks Anaya!

Great weekend away!

We had an awesome stay at Anaya's townhouse for our son's fifth birthday weekend. The house was clean, had everything we needed, and comfortably accommodated our family. The house was well suited for our young children (2.5 and 5), there were no hazards or baby proofing concerns. The location and proximity to the resort, ski hill, restaurants, and Lake Laura was great. Anaya was incredibly easy to communicate with and was very helpful and responsive! I suspect we will be back!

Great Christmas getaway

My family and I stayed here for Christmas. We got a live tree from a nearby farm. Drove about 5 minutes to Bryce Resort where we went tubing and ice skating. We watched the skiers and snowboarders from the beautiful picture window at the restaurant. What a great time with family at Christmas! The only thing missing was colder temperatures and natural snow! The townhouse was as advertised, easy to find, clean, neat and cozy. It had all the comforts of home. You just need to bring your own food! The property owner was very nice, engaging and concerned that all went well with our visit and happily provided information on nearby activities. I definitely recommend if your looking for a nice little getaway close to a ski resort!

Dealing with this owner was such a pleasant experience! She provided all of the pertinent information in a prompt and thorough manner. House was very clean and well stocked. Great location! Very pleasant, secure environment. Will definitely stay here again and recommend to others.

VERY DISAPPOINTED

First off ... NO CABLE OR INTERNET... we rent from VRBO about 6 times a year, never have we been to a rental without cable, internet maybe but traveling with our teenagers this makes for a better evening. You can only play so many games and cards. The condo is out dated, the A/C doesn't cool below 76*, the showers have no water pressure. The kitchen could use a few more daily dishes and more seating throughout. I would have loved a grill on the back deck, it was great weather for cooking out 😓. I will say the condo was clean, that's where I got the "2" for the rating.
