Unique 40’ Container Home in Leander Perfect for stays near Austin.

This one-of-a-kind container home, located in Leander at Old Stick Ranch, is perfect for up to five guests to enjoy time away near Austin, Texas. The dwelling has one cozy bedroom, a full bathroom and for the adventurous an outdoor bedroom. Linens and towels are kindly provided. TheContainer sits on 7 fenced in acres at the top of a mesa and is one square acre behind the main house at old stick ranch. The entire property backs up to 23,000 acres of Canyonland Preserve.

Guests can cook up some evening meals in the kitchenette which comes with two top induction burners, a microwave, keurig coffee maker, fridge, toaster oven/air fryer and all the necessary plates and utensils. Guests also have a comfy sitting area in the living space as well as a full deck with seating and table up top. There is one full bed, two single loft beds, and one drop-down full sofa bed.

Outside, guests have a large furnished deck on top of the dwelling, a fire pit area, and the pool area. Guests can cook up some tasty treats on the provided propane grill. Places to stay in Texas don't come more unique than this beautiful 320 sqft home near Austin!

3 goats and 1 dog live on property. If the owner leaves they all stay at TheRanch.

Parties are allowed but this must be discussed prior to arrival. Both homes need to booked at full capacity for this to occur. The guest making the reservation must be 25 or older. The owner reserves the right to be on or in property for such events. Underage drinking won’t be tolerated and will result in a termination of the booking with no refund. Gatherings over 5 will incur an additional fee for cleaning and overall impact on the property. Size will determine the amount of the additional fee. Additional guests are welcome to visit but this needs to be told to the owner prior to their arrival. Up to 3 family or friends can visit for up to 2 hours or until midnight, whichever comes first. In the event the owner is not informed and sees additional guests on the property that exceeds the number booked in the reservation, and were not discussed upon or prior to arrival, the owner will deduct $75 per additional guest from the security deposit and reserves the right to terminate the reservation at that time with no refund given. (please do not let this occur)

Had to rent this property when renting main house for event.

I was not planning on renting this property. 5 days before I was to stay at the sister property on site I was told I had to rent this property also because I was having people over for lunch after my daughters college graduation.

Unique property, but a mixed bag......

Rented this property for Memorial Day weekend to be within easy drive or Pedernales State Park, Balcones Wildlife Refuge and the local wineries in the area. As the review title states....this experience was a mixed bag. I can't say there was good and bad, rather there was good and somewhat frustrating......but not bad. The Good: Property is definitely unique. Very clever setup and we didn't feel cramped being just the two of us and two small dogs Appliances are new and the hotplate and toaster oven were adequate for meal preparation. Good utensils and there was some leftover spices if needed. Towels, bath soap, shampoo and conditioner provided (no washcloths or dish towels). Never had any issue with the Netflix. The Frustrating: As I mentioned, we had two small (6lb and 20lb) dogs with us. Immediately upon arrival, we noticed the lawn area around the container completely overgrown. This made it difficult for the dogs to do their business. Yard remained this way the entire weekend, even though Matt did mow the yard around his house. Also, pet owners need to be aware that there is a dog roaming free on the property. Buddy seems like a sweet, gentle dog, but our dogs don't socialize with other dogs so we were always having to keep a look out for Buddy. Also, there are 3 goats on the property. We couldn't let the dogs out until we cleared the area of the goats. Plus, the goats like to leave their droppings on the patio which we ended up clearing twice a day. The path from the truck to the door had 3 piles of goat droppings we had to walk through at check-in. Wanted to grill hamburgers one night, but the grill is a rusty mess. Ended up frying the patties inside. Finally....if you rent this property be aware that there is NO external lock on the container Anyone on the property (there's a second rental property) could enter while you are not there. We took everything of value with us daily. The slider DOES lock from the inside. Overall.....we did enjoy the stay but it could have been better. I also feel we didn't receive adequate value at this price point.

Extra space for our large group

We had a large group of 13 people. 2 of us stayed in the container home. It was a really great experience!

Very cool experience

The ranch was very nice, we loved the goats! Owners did a great job with the tiny house, the bed upstairs was great. The place wasn’t ready on time and owner was abrupt at first but warmed up and made a fire for us.
