Guest Access:
For a seamless experience, please request the pack 'n play in advance of your check-in date so we have enough time to prepare it for your arrival.

*You may experience noise from the nearby train station during your stay. For light sleepers, we suggest considering the use of earplugs. We appreciate your understanding.

Nice, respectable,

It was a nice stay, good value all around! Check in, accommodations were very good. Nice value. The TV froze up often. I didn't watch much TV so it was not a big distraction.

Poorly maintained and unsafe without repairs

The bed and bathroom were clean but the apartment has been poorly maintained. The a/c barely pushes air (the weather was cool overnight so it was fine, but will not be if it’s warm out), the floor is coming up and you can see the subfloor in multiple places, light fixtures taped to the ceiling and about to fall, and the worst of it, though, is it looks like someone broke through the door and rather than replace it and the frame, they added a “smart lock” and called it good. The space between the door and frame is large enough you could stick a hanger through and push open the deadbolt from outside. We left nothing of value in the room when we left and secured the door from inside while we were there. The building is secured with a fob and the hallway was quiet, but if I had been alone, I 100% would not have stayed. When other reviews mentioned this issue, I assumed it was a gap under the door. It is not. You can see the deadbolt engage with the frame through a 6” x 1/2” gap. I would not recommend staying unless there is clear, photo evidence at least the door and frame have been replaced. They also require additional verification for check in that we only discovered when we reached out the evening before our arrival because we had heard nothing from the hosts re: checkin. Then it was a lot of confusion over prepayment and other things that alone may not have been cause for concern, but all together made it look like a total scam. VRBO was helpful but wouldn’t recommend.

An apartment a bit out of town

Lakeview is a really cool area. Vibrant, lots of young people, good restaurants. It is approx 20 minutes out of town on the Brown line, then a good 15 minute walk to the apartment. Bed is very comfortable and plenty of hot water for showers. The apartment is a little tired, floor tiles missing and light shade falling off. Check in procedure was super stressful, especially if you have a non-US phone. Host required last minute ID, which for me meant more than an hour using Union Station wifi trying to sort it. Trader Joes is about 10 minutes walk away for provisions. On the whole it was a clean, adequate apartment, suitable for our needs.

weekend visit

Modest apartment with cute furnishings but falls a bit short on upkeep (floor tiles loose, overhead light shade fell off) and extras (no shower soap or shampoo.) and walls are paper thin so you'll hear the neighbors.. Upon arrival I needed to air-out the apartment because the deodorizer used was overpowering. Internet was poor, but the bed was good. Greatest disappointment, though, was the host who was very unresponsive to my repeated requests for the address so I could make transport plans and share my location with friends ---- and this was all the day before my arrival!!! I spent a fulll day making numerous calls, sometimes to an unanswered phone. In addition, VRBO customer service made 3 calls to the host during the day, all without success. I did not get the address and check-in details until 8:30 the night before my departure, which was very stressful. This "host" management company, unfortunately, controls most of the rentals in the area so next time I'd go to a hotel..

Needs work

This property lacks basics. On the positive side It is clean, the bed is comfortable and the neighborhood has many restaurants and bus options within walking distance. The downsides are the gap between the description and what you get. There’s a gap in the front door wide enough to see through which seems like a safety issue. The description said it had all the “kitchen essentials” yet there are 3 very small pans and no microwave and no dish soap; the “chic” bath has 2 bath towels, no extas. The management seems big on the gentle reminders, which are likely automatic, but didn’t get back to me when I requested a bed sheet. The walls are super thin which they can’t do anything about, but stop asking me to be quiet when I can hear every word the guy upstairs says. At least get a 12 inch skillet, a deck of cards and an extra towel set and fix the door.

Great Location

Great place to stay while visiting our son who lives in Lincoln Park. Easy walking distance to lots of restaurants and grocery stores. Unit was clean and as presented in the pics. Bed was super comfy. Easy check-in and out process. Even though finding parking was a challenge, the convenience of the parking lot behind the building made for easy unloading/loading. Only complaint was the wi-fi was EXTREMELY slow. Normally not something we would complain about but it was March Madness weekend. We couldn't watch any games from the unit.

Sorry , not recommended

Although the studio is old, it seemed cozy to me ... the bathroom was clogged with hair, the water stood and did not go away, it was very unpleasant, and another big minus, there is no microwave oven to heat food, it is very inconvenient. Neighbors are something, they just shouted, stomped and knocked loudly day and night, it was impossible to fall asleep or hide and relax .... well, and most importantly! every evening a huge stress to find a parking space, I went looking for 40 minutes. this week spent with you shook my nerves ....
