The Cottage - a quaint cabin with full kitchen and bathroom in Hope, Alaska

This beautiful cabin is called The Cottage, and it is the only privately plumbed cabin on the Bear Creek Lodge property. It features a private bedroom with queen bed, a full-size sofa sleeper in the living room, a twin-size ottoman pullout, and a single roll-away bed. The cabin has a full bathroom with a shower and tub. Additionally, The Cottage has a full kitchen with a refrigerator, stove/oven, microwave and electric water kettle with tea and Starbucks coffee. Sleeps six maximum.

Dirty Skillet is located next door, which is our on-site dinner house that is typically open 6 nights a week. Our coffee shop is where you will check in, and it is generally open 7 days a week. All cabin guest have access to our 24-hour sauna.

The pond and creek were nice. No internet in the cabin or television. No coffee in the rooms because they wanted you to go to their coffee shop to purchase theirs. We’ve stayed in 6 cabins and have always been provided coffee. We booked the only cabin that was plumbed and never could get the water Hot enough to take a shower. It was rainy and cold lit a fire with the lumber provided (not firewood) smoked and the wood burning stove leaked the seal was out as well as the glass. Cabin needs leveled the refrigerator doors would sling open there was black mold underneath the kitchen sink. We both ended up sick. I would not stay here again it was not worth the price I would’ve rather stayed at a Motel 6

When I first visited Hope, Alaska, I knew I had found "home." Our little town feels almost taken right out of history and placed in our current time. From the hiking trails and creeks, the whitewater rafting and the amazing views, and most importantly - the community - I love sharing my little home in Alaska.
