Wonderful farm area

We stayed here for parents weekend at the college and enjoyed the beautiful surroundings. Perfectly located in a biking area for loops around Middlebury. Quiet and peaceful. Would definitely stay again.

Relaxing countryside oasis!

Here’s a shorter version: 5 Stars! Amazing Stay John’s place was perfect! It was spotless, well-equipped, and just as described. The location was ideal, and John was a fantastic host—very responsive and helpful. We felt right at home and would definitely stay again. Highly recommend!

Serenity, Quietude, Contemplation

If you're looking for lots and lots of beauty, serenity, and quietude in a natural, breathtakingly beautiful natural setting, then this apartment may be just what the doctor ordered. ///// The actual apartment, which is connected to a beautiful home surrounded by mountains and meadows, is not very big, but it is fully equipped for at least a week-long stay: kitchen, bathroom, shower, relaxation area, decent lighting, scattered artworks, comfortable king-size bed. Oh -- and absolute privacy! ///// For me, a writer and frequent solo traveler, on the road to work on my latest book, it was an ideal situation. ///// And while the property is very quiet and secluded, there are several lovely and very interesting towns BEYOND beautiful Middlebury -- notably Ripton, Bristol, Vergennes, and Brandon, all of which I visited -- only a few easy miles away. ///// this is not a party-time destination! But it IS an excellent place to be if you want and need the kind of quietness, solitude, and natural beauty that Vermont has in abundance. -- RB, Berwick, Maine 10/19/24

We are a couple with two adult sons. We've lived in Middlebury for more than 35 years. John is retired and previously taught at Middlebury College, founded and owned VBT (Vermont Bicycle Touring), and served eight years in the Vermont legislature. Kathryn, originally a New York City banker, has been practicing massage therapy for the past 20 years. We've been together for 19 years and love our home.
