Summary:
This is a sunny, spacious beach house with gorgeous decks that open on to the best family and surfing beach in Santa Cruz. Step out of the surf and into the hot tub to enjoy your private view of the park, lagoon, beach and ocean.

The Space:
Private yet spacious 3 bedroom, 2 bath house opens onto large front and back yards.
Short-term Rental Permit #181085.

Master suite with ocean view and private access to the hot tub deck, second bedroom with private entrance, and a third room with 3 beds. Hardwood floors, picture windows, fantastic views. Attention to detail: fully equipped kitchen with dishwasher, stove and oven, microwave, coffeemaker, and blender. New infrared gas grill. Private WiFi throughout the house. State of the art 3D capable 55' flat screen TV with Blue Ray, Netflix, and Hulu!

Beds for 7 adults, plus more spaces for kids. The extra large parking lot offers plenty of room to play in the yard. In this beachfront neighborhood of permit parking, there is room on the property to park 6 cars.

Have dinner on the deck, settle in with a book on a lounge chair, stroll to the beach, walk to the coffee shop, or soak in the custom, extra deep hot tub. Chairs, balls, and toys for the yard and beach, board games for indoors. There’s plenty to do, yet lots of ways to just relax.

Very nice place w excellent location. Well stocked kitchen. Really great place to stay overall. The outside lights above front door and immediate left had burnt out bulbs and the motion control lights at garage corner were not working, so very dark going up the entry stairs. Ants present in both bathrooms. I would stay there again. Location is A+

Family Fun

Easy check in, keyless entry. This house may not be that big but the layout was great. The kitchen has been updated and new appliances but I couldn't find where to put the silverware in the dishwasher (hint: there's a pullout shelf on top). They could use some plastic glasses for outside use and new ice trays. Seating for 5 at the dining table and seating for 4 on back patio. We had inconsistent wifi, unfortunately, but the rental agency was working to get it fixed. The bed in the middle bedroom was creaky and the bed frame was falling apart so hopefully that gets fixed. My daughter and SIL had to put the mattress on the floor to get a good night's sleep. The main bed fitted sheet had no elastic so that was annoying. The hot tub was great with access thru the main bedroom and by the front steps. The outside shower has easy access AND hot water! Plenty of parking (a rarity in Santa Cruz). The location is excellent and a 5 minute walk to a nice beach (Moran Beach) and a 10 minute walk to Pleasure Point. There were 4 new beach chairs but bring your own kid toys. The house is at the end of a street and very quiet. This is our third year renting in Santa Cruz and we plan on staying here again.

Stormagedon

We spent the holiday break here and experienced the winter storm that produced 30 foot waves. It was nice to sit in the hot tub while watching the weather and waves rush onto the beach from a safe distance. It was a relaxing and eventful stay.

Amazing time at Pleasure Point

We LOVED this house! It is actually next door to one we rented several years back. The location is amazing. You can walk right out to the beach for a walk during low tide. You can walk up into the neighborhood on the left and stroll all along Pleasure point on the path and watch the surfers. You can even walk to shopping and breakfast. The house is mostly updated and very lovely. Really enjoyed our time here and hope to come again!

Awesome location and house!

This place was great. We didn't have the best weather, but that was expected early Feb. This place would be PERFECT during the summer. Check in was super easy. Everything was as it was supposed to be. THANKS!

Great family gathering!

The property is clean, quiet- end of the block, plenty of parking and the hot tub and deck super as we enjoyed the good weather and sun. The backyard has a bbq and bbq table and chairs if too windy. The living-room furniture is comfortable along with the beds. The rooms get a bit light in the morning if you want to sleep late- but that depends on the time of year and weather. Next time I will bring a dark sheet and throw it over the curtain rod. We will return because the surfers in the family liked the location and closeness to spots they enjoyed. The kids played ball in the huge driveway. Everyone wanted to stay an extra day-so next time.

Fun house close to the beach

Great stay - hot tub was great and living space was spacious. We also enjoyed the decks and grill. House was clean and had everything we needed. We especially appreciated the abundance of beach towels by the front door!

Amazing getaway

We loved this property. It was beautifully kept with comfortable cozy chairs. The communication was excellent. The property was so close to a nice beach with a gradual slope perfect for our kids as well as great walking paths to watch the surfers. We can’t wait to book it again next time we come to California.

Great place near a cute beach

Nicely furnished house with excellent shared spaces. Teenage daughter loved the TV with Netflix. 5 minute walk to local.beach. Quiet residential neighborhood. Lots of parking. Vety clean and fresh.

Fantasy Draft

We had our annual fantasy football draft bbq here. There was plenty of space and a large enough kitchen to accommodate us. The short walk to the beach for sunsets was great. Nice view from the decks and the hot tub.

Epic family vacation

Heron house was awesome, stones throw away from the beach, you could fall asleep to the sound of the waves. Nicely equipped kitchen with so much room for our family and friends to enjoy a nice homecooked meal. Will definitely stay here again. Beautiful!

This is the best house!

We love it so much we have stayed two years in a row. Phenomenal location, right on the beach, and yet secluded and quiet with few neighbors/at the end of a street. The house has everything you need and the management are super easy to reach if you need anything. 6/5 stars.

Santa Cruz old lady trip

Nice quiet location, great beach. Only problem was back patio rug and front patio rugs were so curled and thread bare, we were tripping a lot. Hot tub great.

Fun in the sun

The place was great. Short walk to beach and it was nice not to worry about parking. House was clean and comfortable, it was a nice touch to have extra beach towels for our use. We had a small issue with check in, as wrong code given to us but after making some calls and emails this was resolved in about 15-20 minutes, and the rest of the trip was a breeze.

Beautiful!

We had a wonderful vacation at Heron House. The property is large, beautiful and in a great location. We loved the easy access to the beach. It’s a smaller beach that can get a bit crowded with locals before sundown. We felt very welcomed and enjoyed watching the surfers. The home was very clean and has a lovely, modern beachy vibe. It was well stocked with kitchen supplies, towels, blankets and even board games and beach toys. The master bedroom is quite spacious, with an alcove that was perfect to set up a pack-n-play for our 1-year-old. The hot tub is nice, but was not hot enough and the temperature adjustment was locked. Still relaxing, but a bit disappointing. We didn’t use it until the last evening, by which point we felt it was too late to inquire about adjusting it, so that’s our fault. Overall, this is a great home and we would definitely stay here again.

This place is something special. The location can't be beat. The house is comfortable, clean and well equipped. It has a great, light, bright, warm feel to it. The views are great. The privacy is wonderful yet there's plenty lots of room to spread out on an double sized lot.

No other beach property in Santa Cruz is quite like this one. You have an unobstructed view of the beach, park and lagoon from the huge front deck and yard. You have all the benefits of being at the beach with a lot less traffic and noise.
