A little gem tucked away in an interesting village

We chose this for an overnight stop, with our pet furry friend, on our way from Santander to Portuguese Silver Coast. Pet friendly and self-catering appealed to us. The communication and the welcome to the lovely property, from Sandra, was exceptional. She went out of her way to show us the accommodation and walk us through the pretty village to the local restaurant, telling us a little about the place as we went. The property is immaculate and very cosy with everything you need for a short stay. We would have happily stayed longer and will certainly visit again. The staff at the restaurant were lovely too and the food was excellent and worth the little extra we paid. It's not the cheapest Portuguese restaurant but quite a surprising find in such a small village. We can recommend the steak and the bacalhau. We were very happy with our stay and will return there on our homeward journey. Thank you for the kindness and the welcome we received.

Felt like home

We were extremely surprised and impressed with the receptivity and friendliness of everyone. The place is beautiful, the room was extremely clean and comfortable. In the bedroom there was also a kitchen with a table. Everything brand new and of exquisite taste. A tray with homemade jams and delicacies for breakfast was left in the room. In the morning fresh bread was left at the door in a lovely little bag. Our temperatures were checked to prevent Covid and we felt really safe there. What was supposed to be a stop on the way to our trip, became a destination for upcoming trips. The village in which it is located is charming with breathtaking landscapes and architecture. The hotel management is to be congratulated. I recommend it to everyone. Ficamos extremamente surpresos e impressionados com a receptividade e simpatia de todos. O lugar é lindo, o quarto extremamente limpo e confortável. No quarto havia ainda uma cozinha com mesa. Tudo novinho e de extremo bom gosto. Foi deixada no quarto uma bandeja com geleias caseiras, e quitutes para o café da manhã. De manhã pão fresco foi deixado na porta em uma sacolinha encantadora. Nossas temperaturas foram checadas em prevenção ao Covid. O que era para ser uma parada no caminho da nossa viagem, virou um destino de próximas viagens. A vila em que se situa é encantadora com paisagens e arquitetura de tirar o fôlego. A administração do hotel está de parabéns. Recomendo a todos.

Lovely lady checking us in who couldn't be more helpful. Rooms were immaculate and in as new condition. Excellent breakfast included. In the evening we walked to the open air bar in the square next to the church just above the accomodation. Great food and drink at very reasonable price

I don't usually write reviews but had to here. Amazing host who goes out of her way to make sure everything is perfect! Great rooms and breakfast at a nice location close to many Medieval villages. Highly recommend staying here!
