Randor Residential hotel Kyoto Suites, 14-17 Nov

Location not easy to find using Google Map. About 25 mins walk from Tofukuji station. However, convenient to take bus to tourist spots. The room is spacious for 5 pax, with 1 shared bathroom. Free usuage of washing machine & dryer but dryers are not working well. Staff was helpful but hotel is unable to arrange luggage delivery from Kyoto to Tokyo hotel.

The hotel location is quite remote. It’s a 10min walk from nearest subway. Most part of the journey has no walkway so you have to pull the luggage on the road. There is no convenient shops and cafe nearby. It’s located in the middle of residential area. The mattress is very old and no support. Had backache for few nights. The sofa is too soft. You have to sit in the middle of the seat else you will sink in and very uncomfortable. Room is clean and they provided large rubbish bin.They had the most sophisticated elective kettle, took a while to figure how to use. No housekeeping for the 4 nights we stayed. Shower facilities is quite good. Room is large and TV is large too. Can watch YouTube on the TV. There are 4 washing machines at ground floor. Sadly, tried wash and dry, took 6 hours and the clothes is still moist. Had to walk 5min to a laundromat to wash the clothes.

We liked all the extra room. Beds and amenities were just ok, but not a bad trade off for the space and kitchen. You’ll need to take the bus or train to get around. Super easy to use. Cool neighborhood restaurants near the local station.

it is a nice hotel with a friendly staff. The location is a little out-of-the-way so you will have to use an Uber or taxi to get to most of the sites. The train to Nara is about an 11 minute walk from the hotel. I took a taxi to the Gion one day, but walk back to the hotel after strolling through the Gion area and Potocho Alley (not sure the spelling of that) and it took me a half hour to get back to the hotel. They offer you free laundry, which is on the first floor near the elevator, but there is only three combination washer dryers, and a load to be washed and dried takes 5 to 6 hours so it is almost impossible to find unavailable washing machine. they either have to get more machines or start charging for a load which will cut down on the demand but like I said I checked 20 or 30 times to see if there was a machine available and I was on the first floor only about a one minute walk away from the laundry room and it wasn’t until the last morning before we checked out that there was a free machine. The laundry room was probably the most aggravating part of the day. Also, they do not do any housekeeping until you leave. They don’t change the bed. They certainly don’t make the bed. They don’t empty waste baskets so all that is up to you. There was a bag outside our room where you would drop dirty towels, and you could ask at the front desk for new towels.

Excellent for Family

The room we stayed in is spacious with kitchen and nice-sized bathroom. It’s as described in the picture. The staff speaks English very well and helpful. Location is great, around 5 minutes driving to Kyoto Station but not as crowded because it’s in a quiet neighborhood, which we liked it. There are paid parkings nearby as well, so if you travel with car it’s not a problem. We would recommend this place as an option if you’re looking for a family-friendly room to accommodate 4-5 people with great value and location. My family love it!

Do not plan on doing laundry here, it’s impossible

The property over all is nice. It’s a good 20 minutes walk to Kyoto station. My only big complain is their washing and dryer area. It’s a mess, 4 machines available and it takes 6-8 hours to do one load! Yes, that’s correct 6-8 hours, who has time for that ? And it’s not like you can just leave your clothes and leave. You have to constantly be watching them cause other guests want to use it and they would take your clothes out while they are still wet, it’s so annoying, they need more efficient and effective machines. It’s terrible that in Japan they most amazing technology and efficient country, this 5 story property cannot provide better machines to accommodate their guests, we stayed there 3 nights and never were we able to use the laundry which was one of the deciding factors to pick this place. Front desk night attendant was super sweet. She helped me order pizza by calling using her personal phone and placing the call. Sorry I didn't get her name.
