Excellent location for visiting Sequoia and Kings Canyon NP. The host was attentive, the room was perfect with a fridge, microwave, coffee maker, and place settings for 2. I just hope the toilet paper was chosen for the septic system and not because they wanted that brand. I am glad I arrived in the daylight, the short dirt road in would be tricky in the dark the first time.
Dining recommendations were spot on - good food, very friendly service, and close by.
I wouldn't hesitate to book here again.
The parking was slightly confusing but we didn't end up having any issues. We were under the impression this would be more of an entire house with a kitchen, the pictures are deceiving. It is just a room. It was still great for our needs. The bed was comfortable and we just loved the bathroom! There weren't any towels when we arrived so we weren't able to shower after hiking all day but when we woke up there were some outside our door. We did book very last minute. It wasn't exactly what we were expecting but I would stay again and recommend to others!

Suitable value for money as a gateway into Sequoia NP.
Older buildings. Quite dated but everything was ok. Other than the shower that had fairly low pressure.
Gave me a pillow that was urinated on. Replaced said pillow with another dirty one. Had roaches. Fire alarm improperly installed.

My companion and I really enjoyed the location. It did take a few minutes to find our room, but once in we were able to relax. A few items to mention: the door lock to Ponderosa does not seem to lock securely. And, I did encounter some cockroaches, which we were able to dispatch without much problem - I think these are unavoidable. But overall, we would very much like to stay at this property again!
The room was clean, but it was listed as a "premium" room. Nothing was premium about this room or location. The "lodge" was actually 4 rooms that were in what appeared to be a renovated horse barn in a rural area with extremely poor dirt roads. The lady that oversees the property is very nice. The room was okay and was clean. Only big enough for 2 queen beds, which were comfortable. The layout made it difficult to get around. It is a shorter distance to Kings Canyon and that's why we stayed 2 nights and as I said, it was clean. Hikers might appreciate the roughness of the area, but we are senior adults.
I liked that the people there running it was really nice! Is a nice getaway for a short stay! What I didn't like about my stay is when they gave my room that I reserved for a reason to someone else all because they didn't want to sleep in the same bed! I reserved 2 queen beds for a reason! I had 3 people in my group and there so called upgrade for me was a bed and a couch and said they would bring us some wine for staying in that upgraded room but never brought it! Then the next day had to move our stuff to go to our original room that we were suppose to have to start with! That was not right for them to give away our room like that! If I stay there again I won't except anything but what I reserved!

After doing a little research, i landed on this place st Anna's. So i booked i for 3 nights because i really enjoyed the pictures on the site.. I must say i was very disappointed. First i requested a premium room king size bed and what not. What i got instead was a basic room with queen size bed. Non working t.v. lets just say the smart tv wasnt so smart. The toilet was 2 inches from the shower pony wall.so needles to say using it proved to be adventurous.it was dusty and grimy. I mean it was in the hills and in a farm setting but that was ridiculous. And reaching out to management had its moments of it could turn out ok. But no response and full inbox made much more sificult to remedy my situation i eneded up not staying the 3rd night i had to find accommodations else where to save what ever i had left of my bday weekend
I wish they would have reached out and remedied the situation. But i had turn to expedia for resolve. I hope no one gets the same experience i did .

Although I would love to give this property a better rating because the owners were super nice, I simply cannot. There is nothing premium about these rooms. They are very basic/economy. The listing was difficult to navigate, so we thought we were renting an entire house and ended up with a room the size of a cruise ship cabin. There were instructions on the wall prohibiting leaving the AC on when we were away. When we returned from hiking all day (in July heat) we walked into a really hot room that would take a while to cool off. There were constantly dead roaches we had to clean up (best we could because there was no broom). We also dealt with a dead scorpion as well as other critters. While we are thankful they were dead, it was unsettling that there were so many of them. We stayed three days and were given 2 towels, 2 micro-fiber wash cloths, and 2 micro-fiber hand towels. We weren't given any bath mats for the bathroom and so the floor would get soaked trying to get dried off after a shower. We weren't given any instructions on how to discard of our trash, but listing states if we don't self-clean at checkout, we will be charged a cleaning fee. We looked around outside and couldn't locate where to discard our trash, so we didn't have a choice but to leave it there. With the room being so tiny, it would have been nice to have had at least a chair for sitting, some wall hooks to hang bags, etc... On our last day there we had to deal with sewage backing up into the shower..

Absolutely no communication from the owner regarding check-in. I was lucky enough to run into the housekeeper when I arrived. I had to beg for a room code and got a wi-fi code about an hour later. Although I was the only guest on the first night, I was clearly an afterthought; I'm confident that they forgot that I was coming.
I could hear the guest in the adjoining room snoring, the walls are thin and poorly insulated. The workmanship in the room was poor and makes the room feel dirty (poor caulking, sloppy paint, unfinished surfaces, dirty shower.)
I came via motorcycle. The driveway is full of ruts and is unsafe for a street bike. Parking is unpaved and confusing.
Things that were missing: usb ports, enough AC outlets, contact and property information, both before the stay or in the room (absolutely none)
There is no a la carte breakfast or food of any type, except coffee. The grounds were littered with trash and construction debris lined the patio.
Spend a few more bucks and stay up the road. You'll be glad you did.
