This barn conversion is within the Yorkshire Dales and close to the Lake District, ideal for walking, cycling or just visiting this beautiful area.. Ground Floor:

Travel cot and highchair available on request. Welcome pack. Patio with garden furniture. Bike store available on request. Private parking for 3 cars. No smoking.. Bluebell Barn is nestled in the tranquil village of Newbiggin-on-Lune in the Eden Valley. Situated in the beautiful North Yorkshire Dales and only 30 minutes to the breathtaking Lake District. Giving you access to some of the most stunning scenery in the country and the choice to visit any of the 16 main lakes and over 200 fell tops that create the Lake District. This barn conversion offers more for your stay than the ordinary cottage, making the ideal rural escape for those who wish to explore the Lake District National Park and the Yorkshire Dales National Park.

In nearby Ravenstonedale there are award-winning pubs as well as a 9-hole golf course. A wider range of amenities can be found in the nearby market town of Kirkby Stephen, including independent shops, cafés and pubs, as well as supermarkets and a tourist/visitor centre. Shop and restaurant 5 miles, pub 1 mile.

Everything about Bluebell Barn is first class from accommodation to friendliness of the host. If you are looking for an adventure holiday or relaxing break bluebell Barn is the place to be. Ideal for walking. shopping or just to get away from the hustle and bustle this is the place to go. The host has thought of everything a holiday maker would appreciate from a welcome food pack to lots of games for the kids and a real log fire for the romantics.

This is a lovely property, so well equipped, so many items which we have usually had to take wit us or buy on arrival are provided. The weather when we were there was quite wet for some of the time and also chilly but the cottage was always warm. It was immaculately clean and very comfortable. Add to that the lovely welcome gift awaiting us was most generous. The countryside in the area is beautiful, lovely views from the property and good walks close by. We also tried out the King’s Head restaurant in Ravenstonedale and enjoyed a good meal and most friendly atmosphere.

We have had one of the best holidays in England. My family celebrated my daughters 30th birthday whilst away and Bluebell Barn was the ideal location and size. She is an artist, so was therefore rather excited to wake up in a morning to start painting/drawing the beautiful nature facing us. We thought the cottage was comfortable and had everything that was needed. Just like home!

Thank you for sharing your beautiful home with us and allowing Bravehound Lynne to come along with us. She loved your dog biscuits and says thanks! The drink and food you left for us two-legged folk were most welcome.Loved the comfortable lounge and conservatory with the homely Christmas tree. The views of the Cumbrian landscape and sheep were magnificent.The kitchen was spacious with everything we needed and we had great sleeps in your comfortable beds. The bath was so comfy with plenty of hot water. It was lovely to meet you and thank you for checking we had everything we needed and thank you for the logs. The wood burner made the lounge even more cosy.Hope to return soon.

Just spent 4 nights at this lovely cottage. The cottage was very spacious for the 5 of us and everywhere was very clean. Very high standard equipment with everything that we needed eg washing machine, dishwasher etc. The weather was pretty poor but the cottage was cosy to return to, and the log burner was brilliant. Laura was helpful with any queries we had, and left a welcome pack. Plenty of walks in the local area. 2 good pubs in the next village, and Kirkby Stephen less than a 10 minute drive away, Overall a very enjoyable stay and we would recommend Bluebell Barn. Rural Retreat

We had a very pleasant 4 day stay here. The property was perfect for our needs and has a fantastic view of the hills. If you’re looking for peace and quiet and lots of good, nearby walks this is the place to be. Laura was very welcoming and gave us lots of good information about the area. Would definitely return 👍🏻

This is one of the best equipped cottages we have stayed in. It was like a home from home as soon as you walk through the door you feel relaxed. We absolutely loved our stay here. Laura, the lovely owner, was incredibly helpful leading up to our stay by answering several emails I had. She also very generously offered to take delivery of our grocery order the day of our arrival so that we had everything we needed upon our arrival (Sainsbury’s delivers to this postcode. Spots open up about 4-5 days in advance). The house was immaculate upon our arrival. I don’t think we’ve stayed in a cleaner cottage. The furniture is super comfy and the wood stove is a huge plus. All beds are very very comfortable and we all slept so well (make sure you claim the room with the view for yourself). The conservatory is a great extra space and a great place to read. The view from the property is amazing. The photos do not do it justice. It’s at least ten times better. The kitchen is very well-equipped. It has everything you need and more. We will definitely be back. This is a gem of a property. The location is ideal for exploring both the Dales National Park and the Lake District. Be sure to drive the Buttertubs Pass through the Dales. Probably the best views in all of England. Do it in both directions. The two pubs in Ravenstonedale are a must. Both have excellent food. Make sure you book. You can walk to Ravenstonedale from the village where the cottage is. Kirkby Stephen also has really good food and is only a few minutes drive. Fantastic and Easy!

From the initially contact with Laura, I had a good feeling about the stay. We were given very clear directions as to how to find Bluebell Barn and arrived to a collection of goodies including local artisan bread, (lovely to see local businesses supporting one another). The barn has everything and more than you could need and those little things that you forget. Laura checked in on us to ensure we had everything we needed. There is plenty of space for 6 people and more than enough room on the sofa for everyone. Comfy beds, plenty of towels and warm and cosy, just what we were looking for, and the extra loo saves those awkward moments! We all thought it was great place to stay, we would thoroughly recommend it!

Home from home has everything you possibly need.

Home from home has everything you possibly need. Ideal location for exploring the Yorkshire Dales or The Lakes. The surrounds are safe and secure for young children. Our only minor qualm was the travel cot - fab that one is provided but our toddler seems spoilt with comfort and prefers a mattress so we had some unsettled nights! The owner is very pleasant and accommodating and a pleasure to deal with.

The fireplace is brilliant to have. They had lots of stuff for the dog too - blankets, treats, towels etc. A fantastic place to stay.
