StarHill Farms Ranch House

StarHill Farms is a rolling 300+ acre setting nestled between Mill Creek and Sandy Creek in Austin County, Texas. It is conveniently located between Houston, Austin, and San Antonio.

StarHill Farms now has several restored log cabins and a Ranch House for guests to enjoy the beautiful wide-open spaces of Austin County!

Our Ranch House is an Original late 1800’s Dogtrot House that has been restored and relocated from New Ulm, Texas to our panoramic landscape. A large front porch allows you to enjoy the sunsets and the expansive rear porch overlooks the 15-acre StarHill Farms Lake and the Mill Creek valley below.

The house is spacious and sleeps up to 8 people. There are 4 bedrooms, 2 Bedrooms are Downstairs with a King Bed in one and two Queen Beds in the other. Upstairs has a 2 Bedroom Loft with a Twin Bed in each. The Loft is accessible from the front porch in keeping with the late 1800's style home.

There is a full Kitchen with Stove, Oven, Microwave, Refrigerator, Dishwasher, Coffee Maker, Pots, Pans, and Dishes.

There is one Full Bathroom with a Walk-In Shower and a laundry room with dressing space, extra sink, and washer and dryer to use.

The house has central air-conditioning and heating.

All linens and towels are provided in addition to a hairdryer.

Satellite Television is available along with a full-size BBQ charcoal grill

What a Way to Escape it ALL!

The Ranch House was just what we needed for a weekend of relaxation. I have stayed there before and it was just as peaceful as I remember! The host is responsive and the property is immaculate. Can't wait to go back!

Houston to StarHill Farms--a very easy get away

We loved our stay. It was a perfect weekend--chilly weather and a full moon! The sunrises and sunsets were amazing!! We built a roaring fire in the fire pit and enjoyed sitting outside looking at the moon and stars. It was so peaceful. We enjoyed watching the cows' routine, moving from pasture to pasture. The horses were very friendly and loved getting pets and apples! The house was very comfortable and renovated with a great balance, keeping it authentic but adding modern elements. We had everything we needed. We watched a movie, played games, took long walks on the property and cooked a lot. Easy to get to Round Top, Brenham and surrounding areas. We highly recommend staying here. The hosts were always available to answer questions and had great communication. We cant wait to go back!

Beautiful property in old farmhouse. View of longhorns and lake off back porch. Great hospitality! Be aware that booking price only covers 3 people and others are an extra fee per night. Not clear from the listing.

Perfect setting for a girls weekend (with a side of Round Top shopping!)

The Farm House was absolutely wonderful - gorgeous setting overlooking a stock pond and beautifully appointed with antiques, we loved having coffee out on the huge deck each morning (and charcuterie in the evenings.) Comfortable beds, and a lovely, somewhat quirky layout with a very unique entrance to the upstairs. Definitely a win for our girls weekend - and only 20-25 minutes over to Round Top & Warrenton for those interested in the Antiques Weekend(s).

Ranch House

We love StarHill Farms! There is no better place to spend time with your family and relax. The Ranch House is very cool with just enough modern amenities to make you as comfortable as if you were in your own home. We can’t say enough good things. We will come back as often as possible.

Relaxing Getaway

Truly enjoyed the property. The Ranch House is well appointed and comfortable. Our son had a blast exploring the ranch and seeing cattle and chickens. We loved watching the sunsets. Communication with Stacy was great and filled with helpful information.

A great experience

We really enjoyed this short getaway from from town. The house was so comfortable and the grounds were a treat to explore. The boys loved the paddle boat on the lake and the fire pit made for some good family time. A truly relaxing few days!

Really great ranch house and setting.

The ranch house and property are absolutely gorgeous. We enjoyed the quiet and tranquil setting. The ranch house is tastefully done and very clean. The firepit was great for relaxing and enjoying the (finally) cooler weather. Watching the baby calves run around was a bonus. Great place!

Starhill Farms is welcoming, peacefully uncluttered and just a beautiful place

We recently enjoyed our third stay at this beautiful property. Again we ended up spending as much time at Starhill Farms as we did making the Round Top venues. We roasted wieners and marshmallows at the fire pit, fished in the pond, and spent hours on the covered back deck watching the cows and baby calves come and go and frisk and frolic. Every time we passed the turkey pens the turkeys would obligingly gobble back to the three year olds call, which he found hilarious. Again, no one wanted to leave when our stay was up, this place is special.

We loved staying on the ranch. Beautiful setting for family and friends. The pond was a special treat and cows walking the land made for a picturesque view. We love this property and look forward to going back as much as possible!

We love to spend family time at Star Hill Farms with our kids (ages 7 - 13). The kids especially enjoy Star Hill Farms because they get to roam the property (300+ acres) on their bicycles and do the kinds of things you can only do when you are out in the country. We love the animals and how peaceful it is to be together without any of the normal distractions of everyday city life. You will love it too.

Beautiful and Serene

We had a girls weekend and were impressed with everything, especially the view. Be sure to go when you can sit on the back deck and enjoy watching the cattle and sunset. Mary was responsive and a joy to work with.

ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL

Our family spent the weekend at StarHill Farms Ranch House. The accommodations were very quaint and the property has the animals roaming about with ponds and hills. It was so relaxing to just sit on the back porch in the evening. To take a weekend from the hustle and bustle of everyday life was just what our family needed to reconnect and enjoy some down time together. Being at StarHill takes one back to simpler times and refreshes the soul. Thank you for allowing others the opportunity to experience the peace this property holds. It is truly special.

Can't wait to get back

Our second visit was every bit as peaceful and relaxing as the first, sitting out on the covered back porch overlooking the ponds and pastures in rocking chairs watching the longhorns and occasional deer parties, it was hard to tear ourselves away to go in to Round Top. When you turn off the main road and start the winding way in to the ranch house, you realize you are entering a bucolic mini paradise, where you find yourself picking out your favorite bull, (the rusty spotted fellow with the red socks) or idly gazing upon the big tree spiders diligently working their webs. When we found out that Lindemanns just up the road had everything we needed to prepare a supper and just stay at Starhill Farms in the afternoons, (we cooked hamburgers on the grill and roasted marshmallows and wieners at the fire pit for the sprig), as well as offering a variety of flavored coffees and creamers for barely over a dollar for the largest cup size for breakfast, we returned for an afternoon cup as well. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, and our three year old traveling companion (great grandson, great nephew) has since been asking "to go back to the lady's (Mary's) house. So of course we have made plans to return for a third visit. We are a party of five, two old people and two really old people, near sixties and just made eighties, and the beforementioned sprite, or sprig, and upon arriving we settle right in to good humor and getting along-ed-ness. I can't imagine any similarly sized or even somewhat larger group not thoroughly enjoying this wonderful place.

Every detail was thought of to make our atay comfortable. Kitchen was stocked wonderfully! Tons of towels. Every bed has an extra blanket. The ranch is breathtaking with 3 ponds. Would come back again and again!

We loved it!

I can honestly say we loved it! This was our second summer trip to StarHill Farms and our kids can’t get enough. They love the long hikes, cooking out, and basically just the freedom of being out in the country away from everything. You have all the benefits of a short drive from home, being close to stores if you need something, but the feeling you are in a different world and time. You can stay in the larger Ranch House or you can really experience the feeling of life in 1800’s Texas by staying in one of the cabins (with all of the modern creature comforts of course). Everything is clean, tidy, and very, very cool. We can’t wait to go back.

Great property! A great way to be in rural Texas.

Our stay was fabulous! The ranch was surrounded by a great set of animals including a herd of Texas Longhorns, talkative Turkeys and beautiful Horses. The guest house was nicely built out and highly comfortable. We are definitely planning a follow-on visit later in the year!
