Villa Poggio al Sole was built in 2012 on a natural terrace overlooking the green Umbrian hills and the Tiber Valley. The house stands in the middle of olive groves and oak trees. A big fenced garden surrounds it and the 12X6 meter panoramic swimming pool is accessible to people with walking disabilities. A big patio Is the perfect stage for al fresco dining with fresh vegetables from our own garden.
Poggio al Sole is a sophisticated mixture between tradition and modernity: externally it respects local archiitecture, while the interiors are more contemporary. The big french windows, very unusual here, frame lovely views of the surrounding medieval villages and unspoilt rural landscape. On the ground floor: open space with entrance hall, living room with fireplace, kitchen / dining; big double bedroom with an extra bed, wheelchair accessible bathroom. A staircase leads to the first floor: huge master bedroom with an extra sofa bed, ensuite bathroom with jacuzzi; double or twin bedroom and bathroom. Basement: laundry room, technical room, storage, bathroom.
Villa Poggio al Sole is strategically located 100 km north of Rome and 188 km south of Florence (drive or train. Railway station is 3 km away). From the Villa, you can daytrip almost anywhere to explore the art and natural beauty of Central Italy. A few km away are the lovely medieval villages of Alviano, Lugnano in Teverina, Amelia and Giove. Orvieto is 25 km north; Todi 35 km east; Spoleto 65 km east; Perugia 75 km northeast. Viterbo and its hot thermal springs is 40 km west. Fascinating Lake Bolsena and Bagnoregio are also half hour drive away to the west. From spring to early autumn birdwatchers can enjoy a stroll at the WWF bird sanctuary Oasi di Alviano, just 5 km from the house. Five minutes downhill there is the cold thermal spring of Ramici. Locals say its waters are miraculous for your skin and general health. Bar, grocery shop, butcher, supermarket, pharmacy are
found in Alviano village or in Alviano Scalo, both 3. 5 km from the house.

The house has three bedrooms (two large double bedrooms with an extra bed or sofa bed, a twin bedroom) three bathrooms (one with a Jacuzzi), living room with fireplace, kitchen and a large south-facing patio. In the basement there is another bathroom, the laundry room and the technical room. During the summer months the hottest hours are spent around the 6X12 panoramic swimming pool. A large south-facing patio is an additional outdoor sitting area from spring to late autumn. Both the swimming pool and the ground floor of the farmhouse are accessible to people with motor disabilities. Poggio al Sole is located 3 km from the town of Alviano (groceries, bars, pharmacy, post office), and 3 km from the hamlet of Alviano Scalo (supermarket, bar, pub, butcher shop), where a train can take you to a now in Rome and in two hours in Florence. Its strategic position allows you to visit the splendid Orvieto (25 km) in one day; Amelia (20 km); Viterbo and its thermal baths (40 km); Spoleto (60 km); Perugia (75km); Città della Pieve (50 km); Todi (35 km); the lake of Bolsena (35 km). You can also go in just over an hour on the beaches of Montalto di Castro and Capalbio. Ornithology enthusiasts can take advantage of the nearby WWF Oasis of Alviano, open from spring to autumn. But most of the guests, once they arrive at the farmhouse, no longer wish to move, but only relax in silence and in nature.
