Excellent accommodation and facilities at Ellister Lodge

Great property with fabulous views. We stayed over New Year and the weather was very turbulent as expected but the house is so cosy and warm and inviting! Well kitted out and owner extremely helpful. Lovely island to visit.

Family trip

Excellent stay in a beautiful house. Loads of space and amenities. Pictures do not do it justice. Lovely island to explore. Would definitely return.

Paradise on Islay

Absolutely fantastic location and facilities. Loads of wildlife around the property. Any queries regarding the island and the host would always be very helpful with ideas and suggestions. The island is a superb place and everyone is very friendly - they even wave at all drivers when they pass you in the opposite direction!! The rest of the UK could learn a thing or two about manners from Islay!

Interior of property was very good and clean. Exterior not so welcoming. Yard planters full of weed and grass. Couldn't access decking - and overall view - obscured due to ingress of brambles and willowherb.Good dog-friendly walk up Echo Hill. Engaging amount of wildlife. Quiet and moderately remote. Overall 'Good'

A home from home

Easy booking, great communication and a perfect home. It has everything you'll need to enjoy the island and the world class beaches. Return to log burner and Alexa plays your favourite sounds through the warm Kef speakers driven by Cyrus amp. Perfect. There is a Smart TV just installed for you to log into BBC or Netflix if you need. Book here and you will agree that it's a great choice.

3 couples who traveled together for first time.

Perfect property for our needs. One in our party got news of a close friend passed. Her friend had taught her how to use a wood stove it was very appreciated thay there was a vintage wood stove and the ok to use it. We had a wonderful family meal. Very therapeutic process thanks. City folk might feel a bit out of place but in the end this is a really nice place.

The perfect 'home on holiday'

Everything about Ellister Lodge works: from the moment you walk in the door it flows, providing the perfect balance of sociable and private space. All the rooms are spacious, much, much more than functional and well-equipped with everything you could possibly need for a holiday on an island that offers so much in terms of wildlife, walking, moorland, seascape, amazing light, and - of course - fantastic representation of the whisky industry. Not to mention amazing and variable weather, although we were very lucky, but even if we hadn't been so fortunate, Ellister Lodge provides ample space, comfort and resources for amusements for those of all ages. The three showers are fantastic too - talk about a deluge to wash away mud, rainwater and anything else gathered in the great outdoors! During our week's stay we - properly - visited eight distilleries, the wonderful Woolen Mill, the Nature Reserve and virtually the entire coastal area of the island. We ate spendidly in an assortment of hostelries, restaurants and distilleries (some of us also venturing to the Oyster Shed), and we had some very jolly suppers at home. We can honestly say that from start to finish it was a blast. The sighting of golden eagles on two separate days was the cream on top. Wonderful!

Comfortable pet-friendly accommodation for a family group - offering a well-equipped kitchen and an excellent community room with panoramic sliding doors allowing staggering sea views. Sound system was also excellent - "Alexa, play Radio Paradise Main Mix" had our two-year old dancing with joy. Lots of board games and other diversions for the rainy days - not that we had any at all! Utility room, barbeque, wood-shed and bike shed all available and utilised. We enjoyed an al-fresco evening meal on the decking while watching the deer in nearby fields and the ships on the distant seas. Our youngest party member loved feeding the chickens in the morning. Plenty of parking for three vehicles and a lovely dog walk up to the Echo Point (sign-posted) and the two seats at the 'summit' offering another spectacular view. Good communication with host throughout the adventure.

Traumhafte Unterkunft!

Wir waren mit vier Freunden dort und haben den Aufenthalt so sehr genossen. Die Ausstattung der Wohnung ist top! Moderne Bäder, geräumige Schlafräume und die bestausgestattete Küche, die wir je in einer Ferienwohnung hatten. Die Lage war ein Traum. Morgens und abends haben wir das Rotwild auf der Wiese gegenüber weiden sehen und sogar einen Seeadler sehen können. Wir hatten eine wundervolle Zeit und können diese Unterkunft uneingeschränkt weiter empfehlen.

Eine tolle Woche auf Islay

Ein tolles Haus in toller Umgebung, mit einem netten und hilfsbereitem Gastgeber. Wir haben uns sehr wohlgefühlt, das Haus ist groß und sehr gut ausgestattet. Wir waren zu viert und hatten sehr viel Platz. Wer die Insel erkunden möchte, hat hier einen schönen und ruhigen Ausgangspunkt. Auf jeden Fall eine klare Empfehlung

Entspannung auf Islay

Sehr entspannt, tolles Ferienhaus, die Ausstattung der Küche lässt die tollen Produkte des Inselmetzgers optimal zubereiten. Schöne Sonnenterasse. Wir haben uns sehr wohl gefühlt und optimal vom stressigen Alltag entspannt.

Tolle Unterkunft

Großartiges Haus, bestens geeignet für 6 Personen (ggf auch 8, aber der Schlafraum mit den Einzelbetten ist ein Durchgangsraum), mit 4 (!!) Bädern/Toiletten, meist mit direktem Zugang zu den Schlafzimmern. Tolle Ausstattung in Küche und Wohnräumen Sehr sauber, obwohl Haustiere möglich sind. Lage etwas abgelegen, aber mit schönem Ausblick auf Weiden und Meer
