Welcome to Sugar Maple at Fiddlestix!

Sugar Maple at Fiddlestix is in the Yonahlossee Racquet Club, a gated mountain resort community just minutes from downtown Blowing Rock and Boone. This cottage is owned by members of the club, giving access to the five outdoor clay tennis courts, three indoor tennis courts, a 75-foot heated indoor pool, four outdoor clay pickleball courts, two indoor pickleball courts, a fitness center, an indoor tennis observation deck, two clubhouses, hiking trails, and a close-knit club environment centered around recreation. A Tennis Pro is onsite to set up lessons and hitting clinics for individuals and groups.

Sugar Maple is a charming mountain cottage with two master suites, one king and one queen, and a queen-sized sleeper sofa in the living room (capacity is 4). While lovingly furnished and decorated with an elegant, rustic theme, this home offers many upscale creature comforts to make your stay much more enjoyable.

Yonahlossee and its surrounding protected mountain forests have numerous creeks, streams, and hiking trails you can explore. Sugar Maple and many of the properties in the community incorporate elements of Tudor-revival design that give them rustic elegance and help them blend in with their surroundings. Yonahlossee's central location makes it easy to access nearby towns like Blowing Rock and Boone and nearby attractions.

Note: This property is on a shared well, and maximum occupancy is enforced. A conservation-minded approach during your stay will ensure plenty of water is available for all who share the well. If more than the allowed number of people occupy the home, water availability may be compromised, and additional fees may apply.

The Sugar Maple Cottage also offers air conditioning, a washer and dryer, high-speed WiFi internet, digital cable programming for all three HDTVs, and a stereo for listening to music and playing CDs.

Sugar Maple is Sweet!

Sugar Maple cabin was perefect for our short stay and we hope we can stay longer next time. This cabin was the best use of space and as charming and relaxing as anywhere we have stayed. A back to nature ambiance with all of the comforts of home. The last minute rental experience was handled easily and professionally. The agents were a pleasure to deal with. Very nice

Getting the code to work on the door to get into the house was a challenge. It was not working. Had to find cell service to call to see how to get in. Locked ourselves out. Didn’t have a key as back up to get in. There is a key box but didn’t have that code. Two days had to call and have the code changed on the door to get back into the house. We have cat allergies and we had some allergies when there not sure if there’s been a cat there before. Other than that is was really nice and we enjoyed our stay. :)

Our apologies about the entry. I am sure that was aggravating, again our apologies. The entry issues have been addressed since your stay. Regarding the presence of a cat. Even in our pet friendly homes cats are not permitted. If one was brought into the home it was not authorized by us. Since your departure we have deep cleaned many areas in an effort to remove any feline dander. Its our hope that a revisit is in order.

Weekend in mountains

We loved the property and location. Great accommodations with a nice view and plenty of area for kids to run around just across from the cabin. We enjoyed sledding, hiking and some local food/beer. Would love to go back.

We had a great time at the cabin, the only issues we had was 1- you have to park on the road and walk down to the cabin which if you have alot of stuff is a pain, also at night there no lighting by the car so you can't see anything only a few little lights by the stairs. 2- not alot of hot water , when 2 showers were running , we ran out of hot water and the water get really cold really fast . Lol. Maybe switch to a tank less hot water heater. Besides that we had a great time.

Worst cabin we've stayed at

Honestly if I could give zero stars I would. I am an extremely poor health and for Christmas this year we thought it best to get away from everything including people considering the risks involved with Covid. When we arrived the cabin was far from clean much less up to CDC standards. I am still waiting to hear back as I sent an email over 24 hours ago in regards to everything wrong, we took several pictures, and want a refund. I have never been so upset much less put in the position of arriving to a vacation home and then having to clean.

Great Cabin

We very much enjoyed our stay at Sugar Maple at Fiddlestix. The cabin was in a great location between Boone and Blowing Rock. We loved sitting by the fire in the evenings. It was nice opening the sliding glass door and listening to the stream behind the house. Importantly, the house was very clean! Absolutely no complaints!

We truly enjoyed our stay at Sugar Maple. We have visited the mountains many times but this was our first time in a cabin and it was a wonderful experience. The online reservation process was super easy. I received many helpful emails from Carolina Cabin Rentals that answered any questions we may have had and the turn by turn directions were perfect. Everyone we had contact with from the rental company was always very helpful and pleasant. The cabin was perfect for our family. It was extremely neat and clean. We loved the fireplace, the decks off the back, and the spacious bedrooms! We would love to plan another visit through this company and would definitely choose Sugar Maple again. Thank you so much!!

Great weekend getaway!

We celebrated our 10 year old son's birthday this weekend! The cabin was very nice and in an excellent location. We had wonderful food in Blowing Rock and the weather was wonderful! We enjoyed some hiking and pumpkin picking! Great time had by all!

Everything was perfect....

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, perfect location for what we had planned. I only have one negative thing to say, the grille on the patio needs to be cleaned. It smelled so bad we didn't use it and the outlet on the patio wasn't functioning anyway so I didn't pursue it further. Otherwise we wouldn't hesitate to recommend staying here and will consider it again the next time we're planning on coming in to town.

comfortable relaxing cabin among the trees

Sweet space. Very comfortable and clean. The decks were lovely. The one off the bedroom we used most the time since it had a roof over it and it rained a bunch during our visit. Sure did want to have a meal on the deck off the living area but... It was nice sitting on the bedroom deck watching and hearing it rain. And listening to it while lulling off to sleep. In a great area. The house is nice but dark inside which is not my preference but others may like that. Had to turn on lights during the day. It was fine for our time there though. Lots of steps down from parking area to front door. I would recommend this place for peace and quiet and relaxing. House had pretty much all one could need. We drove right across street for dinner. Saw deer in the open area and enjoyed the little waterfall past the bridge on other side of the open field. No issues with rental agency. Everything swift and easy.

Cozy and relaxing

The place was very nice, had everything we needed, and the back porches were very relaxing. The second bedroom had a nice nook with sofa for reading. The place was nicely decorated, very clean, had reliable WiFi and cable, and had a few games. Just wish there were a few more old fashion board games available or we should have brought a few more of our own since it was a perfect cozy place for the family to sit together and enjoy some time together unplugged. The only negative was that our trash can outside was raided repeatedly on the last day we were there by a pretty strong animal, and made a mess for me to clean up. Despite the bungee strap, closed lid, wooden case, and a huge rock to hold down the wooden casing, something was able to knock it over to get to the trash. We're told it could have been a bear or a really strong raccoon. If we would have seen a bear raiding our trash can, then this negative would have been a positive, but it happened after dark each time. I can't imagine a raccoon or small animal being strong enough to knock down 50-75 lbs of the wooden casing with a huge rock at the bottom, but next time, I would definitely double or triple bag the trash that goes outside. Overall, a fun and memorable stay, and the kids enjoyed it, especially during COVID. Very close to Moses Cone park, Blue Ridge Parkway, river activities, Bowling Rock, Grandfather Mountain, and lots of trails.

Clean, met our expectations. Why not a 5? 1) The porch furniture was clearly in bad shape. There was a hole in the table. It was weathered, could not be thoroughly cleaned and uncomfortable. Your weather is not kind to natural wood furniture! 2) Extra batteries and bulbs should be provided. Low batteries in the CO detector caused it to alarm at 5AM - not a major problem since i get up at 5:30A. But we chose not to purchase new batteries since we saw no risk - probably not the best decision. I shouldn't have to make that decision for both your protection and mine. 3) We are avid tennis players. We, therefore, rented a unit whose owner was a club member. Our preference (being of advanced years!) is to hit tennis balls 30-45 minutes in the morning and again before dinner. That would have cost us $40/day ($10/session/person) or $400 had we done this each of the 10 days we were there. So we limited our play to one time each day and played 6 days. I suggest a daily rental surcharge of $10-$20 that would permit all those in the household to have the same court access as the homeowner.

Loved the cabin and the location. We will definitely stay here again in the future. Interior was clean and well equipped. A couple notes for the property manager: microwave light isn't working and there was a lot of trash around the side and rear of the property when our kids went down to play by the creek (maybe an animal got into the trash recently).
