11 At The Beach, Torcross - an apartment that sleeps 4 guests in 2 bedrooms

If you love spending time at the coast, At the Beach is the perfect choice. Perched at the end of a three-mile shingle beach, you couldn't get closer to the sea if you tried.

You'll feel instantly at home the second you step inside this beautiful apartment. The large sofa is ready to welcome you after a day at the beach and you can enjoy the first coffee of the day standing at your Juliet balcony watching the world go by.

Slapton Sands is a gorgeous village in South Devon that holds an important place in the history books as being a training ground for the US Army during D-Day preparations. You're also within easy reach of some of South Devon's most beautiful beaches and seaside towns, including Blackpool Sands and Dartmouth.

Good Housekeeping Bond
We ask our guests for a £100 security deposit, pre-authorised against your credit card. This is in case there is any damage to the property during your stay. The money is simply reserved and then released afterwards if there is no damage. We will contact you nearer the time of your arrival to arrange this.

Please note that from 7th September 2026 until June 2027 the nearby public Tank Car Park will be out of action. You will still have an allocated parking space available in the At The Beach car park though.

From 7th September - 17th October, the sea defence operations work will be being set up in the Tank Car Park, and some noise will be heard during this time.

From 17th October, sea defence work to Torcross Sea Front will commence. The work will be dependent on the tides, with the rocks being placed when the tide is low, in a 25 metre stretch from the sea wall out to sea. The rock armour defence will be built in 5 metre sections within the low tide windows starting at the southern end (where At The Beach apartments are located), working in parallel along the beach towards the northern end slipway.

Completion of works is estimated for Spring 2027 time. It will take approximately 4-5 months to complete the main rock armour, so the works will be ongoing over the autumn and winter months, with the area around the car park and slipway. We anticipate that this will likely create additional noise in the area. For the first couple weeks of the work, as this apartment is sea facing, you will be able to see the work. A lovely location and apartment

We are regular visitors to Torcross, and have used the At The Beach complex for both longer summer holidays, and for short breaks. All of the apartments that my family have stayed in have been very comfortable, well equipped and very clean. The company is also excellent for both communication and, if any snags or questions, dealing with those too. We will be back again, soon!

A well appointed apartment, clean and comfortable with spectacular views across the Bay and beach. The designated and secure parking space across the road was a particularly great feature. Had a great stay and will definitely revisit in the future.

Lovely apartment with the best sea views.

A perfect location in a lovely quiet village. I could wake up to the views everyday of the year. The apartment is well equipped with everything you need. Bed very comfortable & slept so well. Would not hesitate to stay here again.

Stunning location and a very well equipped property

The location of this property is fabulous overlooking the beach and if you have no restrictions with walking once you park the car up there really is no need to take it out again , there is a great little farm shop up the road , the nature reserve is right on your doorstep and a great pub about 5 minutes walk along the beachfront . The apartment itself is very well equipped and comfortable

Lovely location

We booked 11 At The Beach quite late for a four day break. We know the area very well, and friends have styed in 11 in the past. It is a lovely apartment and very spacious, especially for two people! The front and side views of Start Bay are beautiful, whatever the weather. Extremely comfortable bed and spotlessly clean throughout.

Location amazing

Clean and comfy. Had great weather. The location was exactly as described . To be able to listen to the waves morning through to evening was delightful. Very small , quiet place as described. Would definitely visit again. Chilled and relaxed . The farm shop and brewery were brilliant and the entertainment there an added bonus. Coastal walks were lovely especially an afternoon stroll over the beaches to the Cricketers Inn. Blackpool sands worth a drive to and their cafe on the beach was excellent. Had some lovely drinks at The Start Bay Inn looking out to sea. Would avoid the so called "fish n chips" from the Boat House as just expensive frozen chips.

Fantastic location and lovely apartment.

We stayed in probably the hottest weeks of the year so we could have been abroad! The apartment overlooks the sea from every window and both bedrooms and the lounge area have Juliette balconies which you can sit at. We did think that if we stayed again, we might try the apartment below (no 6) as it seems to be the same layout and contents but had a balcony to sit out on. It would just be overlooked by the other apartments. The washing machine was a hit so we went home with everything clean - no holiday washing! Out the back there is a large area to sit out on with garden furniture and no.11 has the advantage that no other holidaymakers need to pass by the apartment, so very secluded. There is partial sea-view and it is still sunny when the beach starts to get shaded from the sun. Torcross is very small and unfortunately was hit by storms earlier in the year so many seafront properties were boarded up. It didn’t affect our stay at all but sad to see and hopefully repairs can get sorted soon. There is pub that serves great food and a little cafe in between. We didn’t see a shop but Chillington is a short drive away for basics and a big Tesco and Asda are not too far away. The beach is narrow and shingly so the water is clear. Beach shoes worth getting! There was a lifeguard there most days. There is a seal that swims by most days and is a bit of a celebrity! We saw 2 one day so not sure if he had brought a mate or they were 2 different ones! Overall we had a fantastic stay. To echo another review I’d read though, it would have been better to have a shower in both bathrooms. That was the biggest negative for 4 of us staying there. Also, the shower is static above you so if you don’t want to wash your hair, it is a pain. The cubicle is very small so hard to avoid the spray and without any shelving in there, you have to keep bending down to pick up toiletries, again making it hard not to get your hair wet! As there were 3 of us with long hair staying, this was a nuisance. The pressure was also quite feeble so when we did want to wash our hair, it took ages to rinse out! Other than that, everything was great and we would definitely recommend!

Great relaxing property

Property was ideally located for visiting areas in South Devon. Not lots to do in Torcross, but we knew that before we booked. Was clean, and well equipped. Absolutely wonderful to wake up to the sound of the sea. We were lucky enough to see Sinbad the seal (regular visitor to Torcross). Ideal for a relaxing break. Not suitable for the less mobile as there's stairs to the property

Great apartment views

Lovely apartment with amazing views. Weather not kind to us and didn't get to use outside seating. We had a couple of niggles which were resolved by the concierge.

Average

The place was lovely furnished. But could have done with a good clean. The place was full of cobwebs all around the ceilings with dead spiders and flys. The work surface in the kitchen needed a good bleach down. Under toaster it was disgusting. We were left with t towels, which I threw one of them straight in the bin as it was covered in hairs.

Disappointed, could be so much better

Good location, but it was a shame that the windows were obscured by seaspray and grime. Comfortable and well equipped, but poor level of cleanliness (toilet dirty with faeces, kitchen splashbacks and cupboards smeary, radiators and under beds very dusty, white towels grubby looking). Walls and paintwork tired and dirty. On removing duvet cover on leaving as instructed, synthetic duvet was found to be heavily stained - not by us. On using the bath, found clumps of hair floating on the water, presumably from the jacuzzi sump (not used by us). Heated towel rails in bathrooms did not work with the electrical heating element when the fuse spurs were switched on as instructed. Sadly we could not recommend this apartment.

The original brochure did not identify towels included so we brought our own, however this wasn’t necessary. The kitchen units had a skirt that was not fixed, the shower was outdated and very small for three of us who are over 6ft and the shower head wasn’t adjustable and the plug cap broken. The bath was good but would benefit from a shower. Not all the doors would open to outside as they had rusted.Everything was clean and we enjoyed our stay but a little bit of mainteneance and repair would go a long way.
