Spacious 1 Bedroom Cottage/Gîte with shared pool in the Charente

Camping & Gîtes La Forêt de Tessé has a 10 pitch campsite with 2 fully furnished Bell tents each with their own kitchen cabins and a spacious 1 bedroom gîte to rent. The camping field is completely separate from the gîte that has a separate entrance and a courtyard.
The in-ground 10 m x 5 m swimming pool is opened from mid May to mid September. The pool is not heated, but the water temperature in summer reaches 30 C°.
The Gîte has a separate entrance from our small campsite and is approached from the driveway to the main courtyard. The Gîte is attached to the main house and is the oldest part of the property dating back to the 16th century. Entrance door into the lounge / diner, exposed beams and stone walls with an ancient fire place fitted with a wood burner for the winter months. UK TV and DVDs available. There is a separate fully equipped kitchen with exposed beams and stone walls.
From the Kitchen there is a staircase to a small landing leading to the en suite shower room and the bedroom. The bedroom has 1 Super-king Bed, which can be divided into 2 singles and a 3rd smaller guest bed suitable for children if required. There is also a large wardrobe and chest of draws. Outside in the courtyard is table and chairs to enjoy breakfast in the morning sun. For the hotter parts of the day there is a covered terrace and dining area with a BBQ. There is a large garden just for the use of gite guests next to the shared swimming pool.
We are situated in Grosbout, a peaceful hamlet in the commune of La Forêt de Tessé with a close knit community. Long hot summers, warm spring and autumn means outside dining is possible from April till the end of October. It is surrounded by farm land and a small woodlands. Swimming lakes and river swimming are about 10 mins drive away. The roads nearby are really quiet and ideal for walking & cycling, there is hardly any traffic. With no light pollution we have the most amazing clear night skies. All the tranquillity of the countryside but shopping, markets, restaurants and supermarkets are only 10 min drive away There are many picturesque villages around with beautiful stone houses and chateaus. The N10 motorway that leads down to Spain is 10 minutes away making this an ideal stop to break up a long journey. There are lots to see and do in the area without the crowds of tourists. Ideally, located for days out to Cognac, La Rochelle, Angoulême etc.
