Located halfway between Hamilton and Darby on 4.9 acres in the beautiful Bitterroot Valley with mountain views. Walking distance to the Bitterroot River for the avid fly fishermen or bird watcher. Garden and greenhouse with fresh vegetables when in season available for your picking. Pasture raised chickens that produce fresh eggs daily, also available during your stay. Hayes creek borders the west property boundary with a bench on the shore to relax and listen to the running water. Bitterroot National Forest with miles and miles of roads and trails is located nearby. Twin Lakes to the west and Skalkaho back country highway to Phillipsburg, 43 miles to the east make for great day trips from the house. Lake Como is only 10 miles to the South offering plenty of opportunities for water sports and fishing. Painted Rocks Reservoir is 45 miles to the south on the west fork of the Bitterroot River offering beautiful views and great places for picnicking. Salmon, Idaho is 70 miles to the south by way of Lost Trail Ski Area to further explore. All types of recreation and services in Montana can be found in the valley. Missoula is a bustling city only 60 miles to the north with an international airport and plenty of entertainment.

This property is stunning in every way

First off, we loved the location of this place. Just a 10 minute drive into town, it was really peaceful and had stunning views. The home itself was exactly what we needed; simple, very clean, had all the amenities for cooking, plus fresh eggs and strawberries from the garden! I wish we had more time here, next time we are back this would be my first choice. Lamar was also very helpful, letting us check in early and quick to respond to texts.

3rd Stay here

This is our third year staying here for our annual fishing trip. Conveniently located half way between Hamilton and Darby making it a great location. We were there during warm weather and sitting in the shade of the trees down by the creek was like sitting in AC.

Another Great Stay

This was the second time we have stayed at this property for an annual fishing trip to the Bitteroot. It’s perfectly located between Hamilton and Darby and makes the perfect fishing cabin. See you next year.

Convenient and comfortable!

We stayed here for five nights so we could explore the area and enjoy some R&R. The cabin is wonderfully furnished, has super comfortable beds and is convenient to either Darby or Hamilton, as well as the Bitterroot! The pictures don’t do it justice - it’s very nice.

Great Fishing Cabin

We stayed at this cabin for a week while fishing the Bitterroot. It is very conveniently located minutes from Wally Crawford take out halfway between Hamilton and Darby. The kitchen has everything you need. Even had a crock pot which comes in handy for having dinner ready after a long day on the river. The beds were comfortable and the house was very well kept. It's cool to have fresh eggs for breakfast. Our fishing trip is an annual event and this place will be a go to.

Moving time

I stayed at this property in transition from my chaotic move-stressed home in preparation for a move out of state. It was both comfortable and convenient. It was fun feeding the chickens and collecting and eating the home grown eggs. The 1800 count bed linens paired with the quietude of the country environment provided for many restful nights. Thanks for the quiet respite.

A very comfortable property with great views!

I have to say that the pictures do not do this home justice..... This home was so comfortable, and very clean. Although there is no internet service or cable service, I was not disappointed as this home is very reasonably priced. Nice vegetable garden and lots of chickens (which my daughter loved)! Amazing views of the mountains to the west. Peaceful and quiet.... I will definitely stay here again next time I'm in the area!

Great Montana Getaway

This is a great little out of the way spot. Plenty of room we travelled with four kids and the dog. Yard was large enough to set up games and the fresh chicken eggs were awesome! My boys loved going out and collecting them. Only one bathroom but with a great tub. Beds were comfy and had good pillows. No WiFi but there is plenty to do without it. Super close to Lake Como and some good spots on the river. House was well stocked with towels, dishes, and pans to cook. This is a great spot for a family and would be good for just adults too. Location is about halfway between Hamilton and Darby so if you’re spending time in Hamilton or Missoula it adds to the drive. If you are planning activities at Como or further south this is a great spot. Will definately stay again when we come back.

Great Montana getaway

This property is fantastic! The chickens, fresh eggs, greenhouse and mountain views are wonderful! Perfect for families. There's no wifi and honestly it was wonderful to unplug for a few days. It's outside of the city and really close to many attractions. Beds were really comfy and it was quite and peaceful.

Amazing! Very pleasantly surprised

This little getaway is SO cute and farmhouse-y, clean and simple. The property is amazing with chickens, garden, greenhouse, picnic table, grill, fire pit, lawn, mini forest, and a little stream for our kids to play in. We were very pleasantly surprised. The pictures do not do justice to how amazing this place is-we wanted to show it off to all our friends. We enjoyed it very much and wished we could have stayed much longer. Only issue we had was tracking down the address to arrive-website didn't give an exact street address, and owner was out of cell service for a few hours. Luckily we were able to zoom in on google maps and see some lane names and then recognize the house once we were on the street.

Neat Little House.

This was a nice home away from home. My wife has chickens and a garden so she felt right at home!! Nice little place, centrally located to all the hikes in the bitteroots which worked well for us. Lots of room to turn pickups and trailers around. Great view of the mountains, quiet neighbors, will stay again if we are back in the valley!!!

It was the most amazing place we ever stayed.. at

This place simple, clean, and quiet with some chickens for fresh eggs which we loved, especially the children..we ate lots of eggs and fresh strawberries and other fresh garden goodies..
