Bright and Modern Causewayside Apartment

Bright and modern two bedroom flat located in the vibrant neighbourhood of Newington. Delightfully decorated and fully-equipped, the flat is perfect for 2-4 guests for both short and longer term stays.

Please note: the flat is on the 3rd floor of a traditional early 1900s Edinburgh tenement, reached by a semi-spiral stairwell, with a landing on each floor. There is no lift, as is common in old Edinburgh buildings. Please bear this in mind if you have heavy luggage or limited mobility.

This stylish, yet comfortable, flat will most certainly make you feel at home. The fully-equipped kitchen has everything you need should you wish to eat in and the extendable dining table provides the perfect space for this. If you are visiting in the winter months, the beautiful fireplace will help you to feel nice and cosy. The living areas have hardwood floors and the bedrooms are carpeted. Both bedrooms have comfortable double beds with linen and towels provided.

Guests will have access to the entire property.

I will be available 24/7 via VRBO, email or phone to provide any assistance you may need.

Excellent location, a short walk into old town, Edinburgh. Everything was exactly as described, and the host did a terrific job of providing thorough information on all the amenities in the flat. Great place to stay just a little bit challenging for parking.

This apartment is in a fantastic location for exploring the centre of Edinburgh by foot. It’s clean and bright and has a good vibe about it. Communication with the host Lucy was really easy too. The only minor issue we had was with unloading and loading our luggage from the car as we found parking quite tricky near the apartment- but all worked out ok in the end. We had a fantastic couple of days here and would definitely recommend.

We had a lovely stay at Lucy's apartment. Everything was spotless and as pictured in the listing. Very close to bus stop made it convenient to get around Edinburgh with no bother. Definitely would stay again...even with the 3 flights of stairs to get to the apartment! Thanks Lucy.

We loved this place! The apartment is colourful and quaint. The stairs up to the apartment were the only challenge, but we were up for it. Lucy was very communicative.

Great location. Lovely, comfortable apartment with big windows. We appreciated the washing machine and coffee pods milk steamer oat milk. We would have liked a bigger pot, wooden spoon, and colander. We couldn’t get the tv to work but didn’t inquire because it wasn’t important. Negatives: The curtains did a poor job of blocking morning light, and the fans brought in a stale cigarette smoke smell from the apartment below. Owner said she is aware.

Overall this was a very pleasant stay. Two things reduced the rateing.One was the stairs. Theee flights of a spiral staircase, no lift, was exhausting for a 76 year old with knee and hip problems.The problem is nothing can be done to solve this problem.The second issue is the difficulty in opening the bathroom door. Arthritic hands find it difficult to grab the round door knob as it is both stiff to turn and too close to the door post. Solution change the round door knob to a lever.Otherwise it is easy to access transport for buses and private hire. Parking it around the corner and is difficult anywhere in Edinburgh. Testing is a short walk away.

The location information was inadequate and UBER got lost trying to find it. We didn't have the apt number or instructions. It would have been very helpful to know that it was apt 5 and that it required climbing three flights of winding stairs with heavy luggage. Once we got in, things were OK.

This property was perfect for our short trip to Edinburgh, not too far to walk into the centre and a supermarket across the road. The apartment was clean, warm and extremely comfortable. Lucy was an excellent host, communication was excellent. Would definitely stay here again and would recommend.

We travelled to and from Old Town which takes about 20 min walking Very easy to get around. Lots of nice restaurants in area

The property is in an excellent area of town. It was easy to get to as it is close to the Royal Mile. Its only about 25 minute walk to Edinburgh Castle. Its on a major bus line for public transportation, and a cheap Uber ride. The area itself is great. There was an endless number of restaurants to choose from. There were also a few nice shops to look around in. Getting into the property was easy and well described. The main drawback to this accommodation is getting from the main door into the flat. The hallway to the staircase is dark and rustic. The stairs up to the flat are awkward especially with large suitcases (listing does say specifically that it is a three floor walk up). Once you enter the unit, you will smile again. It is a good size with a nice size kitchen, bathroom, and a medium sized living space. The decoration is really fun and modern. The dining table is most suitable for two people, but the coffee table is big enough to sit and eat at it. The kitchen is equipped fairly well. It has a Nespresso coffee maker, and I love that. There were enough place settings and cups etc for four people. The main bedroom was huge with lots of storage. The second bedroom was a bit tighter, but the bed was very comfortable. Everything in the flat was in great working order. The host did give us early access to the unit. She saved us from missing out on a planned event that we had. That was greatly appreciated. She is a great communicator, and a responsible host.

Great location (knitting store and a coffee shop, next door and grocery across the street) and lovely accommodations! Easy walk to the Royal Mile. The host was so responsive. Quiet neighborhood. Highly recommend this apartment. Loved it.

We loved this apartment and I recommend it. My only advice would be to have a dryer; we washed some clothes and had to hang them up to dry, whuch was a little bit inconvenient.

Lucy is a wonderful host, very communicative and all info super clear. Top floor, so be prepared for that, but a beautiful building, lovely view of the hills over the rooftops and a very comfortable and clean flat. Suited us perfectly. Lovely area too. Lots of local independent cafes. Great bus connections. Would 100% be my first choice if in Edinburgh again.

The apartment was very nice but there was one overwhelming issue and that was the person in the apartment below is a chain smoker and the smoke seeps up into the bathroom so that it was awful in there if you ever turned off the fan. Even if its always on it was still pretty bad. It seeped up into the kitchen a bit as well but it wasn't that bad there. It's a shame because they have really spent some time and money on the apartment but these old apartments always have cracks and gaps so they're not air tight. I don't think the owners can address this issue. So if smoke bothers you or if you have asthma you might wantbto try somewhere else.

It was nice and clean but for anyone with limited mobility it should be noted that there’s 3 serious flights of stairs to climb before you get to the door. So if you have heavy luggage or elderly people keep that in mind Communication was fantastic and the flat has everything you’ll need
