A wonderfully quiet retreat. We thoroughly the beautiful views from the apartment and enjoyed the use of the private pool, due to the excellent weather we had we did not use the sauna. We came back refreshed.

The property was clean and tidy with ample bedding and towels for a family of four. Fresh flowers decorated tables and were a very nice touch. The garden areas were well maintained and lots of furniture and seating areas. The pool area was very clean and tidy and private. Stuart and Gillian were lovely hosts serving us fresh apple juice they made themselves from their own orchard which we were able to walk around. It was a peaceful get away.

Stuart met us on arrival and showed us around very pleasant and helpful. Accommodation was very nice and cosy. Very clean and fresh.Swimming pool was a bonus. Highly recommended.

This property was perfect for a relaxed family getaway with the added bonus of a pool and sauna. Clean living and pool area, friendly hosts, quiet location and beautiful scenery. Would recommend and stay again.

We would highly recommend this property to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable break. Truly nothing to fault, the property was clean and comfortable with good amenities. The pool and sauna were a real bonus, well kept and provided hours of fun. Set in Beautiful gardens, with pheasant grazing on our doorsteps. We absolutely loved the tranquil atmosphere while having our coffee in the morning, sitting on garden chairs, watching sunrise.Jill and Stuart made us feel very welcome and provided anything we needed. This was a truly relaxing spot away from it all, with owls hooting at night and stargazing. But most of all thanks to Jill and Stewart who were fantastic hosts, making us feel welcome from the moment we arrived. Thanks again for a perfect stay.

The location is very rural, lovely views and a peaceful environment. The pool was nice and the sauna very welcome to drive out the winter chills.I can imagine the pool is wonderful on a warm summer day. The apartment was comfortable and well equipped. Jill and Stuart were both very nice and welcoming.

We had an amazing winter stay at this holiday home! The place was spotless, super comfortable, and had everything we needed for a relaxing break. The indoor heated pool and sauna were absolute highlights — nothing beats a swim and a good steam while it’s freezing outside! It really is tucked away in the middle of nowhere, but that made it even more peaceful. No noise, no crowds, just fresh air, starry skies, and total relaxation. If you’re after a cozy getaway with a touch of luxury, this is the perfect spot.

Perfect location to relax

Great getaway for a small family, in a lovely rural part of the country. The pool, sauna and table tennis kept us occupied and the hosts were very friendly and helpful. Certainly considering a return visit.

The retreat

Jill and Stuart are great hosts and the accommodation and surrounding gardens / grounds are lovely. Our daughter enjoyed the private pool and we would definitely return! Thank you for having us stay!

Relaxing holiday

We had a lovely time, the accomodation was really nice and we loved the pool and sauna. The location is great, very relaxing, we sat out in the garden overlooking the orchard, which was just wonderful. We hope to return for another relaxing week. Jill and Stuart, the hosts, are great.

February half term

The Retreat was cosy and comfortable in a beautiful part of the country. We really enjoyed using the private pool every day. The hosts were friendly and helpful and checked we had all we needed. Thank you for the lovely apple juice!

Minimoon

We had the loveliest time at the retreat.. We made good use of the pool and sauna, even ordered some pool toys for our stay whilst there.. This is a beautiful location with the perfect view of sun rise which I enjoyed. Lots of places and nice pubs to visit nearby, even went to Alton Towers one day. We would definitely stay again and recommend.

The landscape is beautiful, you can do a lot in the surrounding area; hiking, great cities. The flat has everything that is promised and it is very clean. A very relaxing holiday experience

Peaceful

Lovely and peaceful. Although you are on property with owners it feels no different to just a neighbour and privacy is maintained Pool was great, horses loved the apples from the orchard, we will definitely return and recommend.

Perfect Retreat

Me and my husband had an amazimg few days at the retreat. The apartment and pool were perfect for us and in an amazing peaceful location. Even though we didn't take our children, we know that they would have loved it especially the pool and orchid to run around. Thank you for the little getaway we needed, we definitely came gome feeling relaxed. Would highly recommended.

Relaxing break

We really enjoyed our stay at the Retreat. Despite the cold weather outside the flat was warm and cosy, a great space to relax and unwind.We enjoyed the swimming pool and sauna which we used most days. It was great to have the use of those facilities.We also loved exploring the area , the historical towns and churches.It was lovely to meet Stuart and Jill who were so friendly and helpful and we also appreciated the home grown apple juice they gave us.We would definitely visit again

Easter Break

Booked last minute ( night before ) Easter Break for Family of four. Stuart responded very quickly and met us when we arrived, and gave us a tour. The apartment was as advertised , as was the pool , which the kids loved , using it every day. The location is very peaceful with wonderful views.

Great location

We had a fabulous time on a family staycation. Our children 11 and 14 especially enjoyed swimming everyday. There is so much to do hiking, National Trust and English Heritage properties and lovely villages to explore. So much history. The apartment was well supplied, clean and served us well. Jill and Stuart are incredibly welcoming. Crumpet the dog was lovely too. Cannot recommend The Retreat enough.

Easy to find with Google maps but nice and out of the way in a lovely rural setting to give you the experience of a retreat!All the essentials are provided to you on site, the pool and sauna, whilst not essential did start to feel that way after a couple of days. I did some work whilst there, the internet was very capable of teams meetings. There are some lovely views to be had. The hosts were incredibly friendly and full of local knowledge, though also leave you be in the peace and quiet on offer. I was given some of their apple juice which was frankly outstanding. You really do feel the space is your own as it is tucked away from the hosts main residence, and exclusive use of the pool was amazing.I enjoyed my stay immensely I'm sure you would too.
