Summary:
48 Bishopsgate offers generous comfortable stays with one spacious flat per floor. Lift access provides convenience for travellers and the air conditioning is a real plus. A one bedroom apartment, excellent for couples, solo adventurers, and business travellers and there is a sofa bed in the reception room to accommodate additional guests. Linen, towels and other essentials provided including welcome drinks and snacks. Professionally cleaned with a support team on hand to take your call if you need it.

The Space:
This luxury apartment is designed with the urban traveller in mind and is super quiet once inside. Approach the apartment via the fourth floor as you come out of the passenger lift (or elevator!) and then immediately walk into the large zoned reception room with large sofa bed and recessed dining area with tv and air conditioning. The three Parisian style windows in this room are double glazed. The open plan kitchen features a washing machine so that you can do some laundry and travel light, a dishwasher because who wants to do the dishes by hand, toaster and kettle, fridge, stove/hob, oven and microwave. We know how important it is for people with special dietary requirements to prepare food for themselves rather than rely on the understanding and cooperation of restaurants and you may not want to eat out all the time, so we make sure you have the added choice of self catering. Of course, there are plenty of pots and pans, cutlery and crockery for you to use.

The large bedroom is at the back of the building with a freshly made king size bed with hotel quality bed linen, wardrobes with hangers, plenty of drawer space, hair dryer, iron and ironing board, tv, more air conditioning and good quality towels for all guests. The modern bathroom with shower over is en-suite with twin vanity basins and we provide some toiletries on arrival. The bedroom offers direct access to your own private balcony. We also put together a welcome pack of tea, coffee, milk and some snacks for when you arrive.

Good quality wifi is available in all our properties to help you plan your day's sightseeing, catch up on some work, keep in touch with friends and family back home or simply to relax after a busy day in the capital.

All City Living London properties offer convenient bases to discover what London has to offer so that you can recharge at the end of the day and then do it all again.

Self check in means you can let yourself in with our detailed instructions anytime after 3pm although we recommend you arrive before 10pm if possible. Self check in means no guessing arrival times to meet your host of key handover or stressing about running late. Just turn up and let yourself in using our clear instructions.

The Neighborhood:
Londinium's genesis emerged here, in the City, when the Romans created a settlement in 1 AD which grew to need a protective London Wall and Bishopsgate was the gate to the east of the City. In fact, famed medieval poet and storyteller Geoffrey Chaucer once lived over the Aldgate in the London Wall which was one of the entrances to the City of London from the wilderness without. Although some of the original wall still exists, these days London is outward facing and welcomes the international community to visit with open arms.

The City is now known as the Square Mile and is the beating heart of London's Financial District but there is tonnes of entertainment nearby for you to experience; The Gherkin (aka St Mary Axe), stunning Leadenhall Market and thriving Sushi Samba are on your doorstep. This building is walking distance to Spitalfields Market, Shoreditch, The River Thames and St Paul's Cathedral.

Duck and Waffle - Top Restaurant in London, is located on the 40th floor where they serve, unsurprisingly, duck and waffle also has amazing views across London
Bank of England Museum - family friendly and interactive museum about the "Old Lady of Threadneedle Street" where you can pick up a real gold bar. Only open on weekdays.
Gherkin - also known as 30 St Mary Axe, this building is a firm part of the skyline and has a viewing gallery
Tower of London - Medieval castle housing the Crown Jewels by the River. Some buildings are over one thousand years old!
Lloyds of London - book a tour! From coffee shop to international insurance market all in one building, well worth a visit
Brick Lane - famous for its Sunday market, many curry houses

Shoreditch - Famous area for the top restaurants and coffees.
Spitalfields Market - high street food choices and independent market stalls

Getting Around:
Access to transport is excellent and the nearest stations are Moorgate, Liverpool Street and Bank for the Elizabeth, Northern, Central, Circle, Hammersmith and City and Metropolitan lines as well as mainline rail stations. Fast trains to Stansted, Southend, City and Heathrow airports.

Please can we request no smoking, parties or any behaviour that would disturb surrounding or future guests.

Review
Excellent location and the general cleanliness of the apartment was good. A couple of things that I should mention: 1) There was a dirty sheet left on the couch bed, presumably from the previous occupant. The couch had been folded back up into a couch so I assume that's why it wasn't noticed 2) The dishwasher top tray was broken and had been shoved on top of the bottom tray when we arrived. We tried our best to fit it back where it should have been using the rails but weren't able to do it. It needs to be fixed. 3) The space between the dishwasher opening door and the fridge door is not right and the doors are jamming on each other, this seems to be pushing the dishwasher back into the cabinet carcass. It needs to be fixed as it's really difficult to close and open the two doors. Would have been good to have an ice tray in the freezer but that's about it. Apart from these details, it was an excellent apartment and we would definitely stay again.
