This renovated residence in the heart of Sint-Jansrade has a beautiful location and access to an outdoor swimming pool. It is an excellent choice for families.

The gite is located in the charming village of Sint-Jansrade, with typical stone houses and a beautiful view over the green hills. The area is perfect for walks (Balades au Pays d'Aubel), mountain bike and horse riding. Visit cities such as Liège and Maastricht or go fishing at Pêcherie du Berg. The Siroperie Artisanale d'Aubel Nyssen tour is also very worthwhile. In the last 2 weeks of August, the annual village festival normally takes place next to the holiday home.

Unwind in the sauna or take a cooling dip in the outdoor pool located in the garden of the neighbors and owners. The pool is available for private use in the morning and afternoon. There are 4 bicycles at the disposal of the guests and on request you can take yoga lessons or opt for half board.

IMPORTANT : Swimming pool is open from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m. and from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m., from June to September
The swimming pool is open from 10:00 - 12:00 and from 14:00 - 16:00
For reasons of tranquillity, this holiday home will not be rented to groups of youngsters
It is strictly forbidden to organise any student party, bachelor party or drinking party in this house

The bunk bed upstairs was a hit with the kids and saved us space. The outdoor pool times worked well for morning swims before heading out. Having four bikes to use made exploring the green hills simple and fun. For what you get, it’s a solid spot in Sint-Jansrade.

We had a very pleasant stay here! The pool was great (though you can only use it between 10am-12pm and 2-4pm every day) and we got lucky with very sunny weather most of the week. The nature surrounding the house is beautiful, the supermarket a 5 min drive away and the host Laurent very helpful, answering our questions straight away whenever I texted him. Though the site said kitchen linen would be provided, be mindful of the fact that it’s 1 kitchen towel and you might want to take more with you (towels for the toilets and bathrooms too). The non-stick coating of some of the pans in the kitchen was coming off, so some of them should probably be replaced. But overall, there were enough utensils, cutlery, plates, etc. for our group of eight. We were there during the last two weekends of August, which is when the town festival happens (which we were properly warned about thanks to the hosts). If you’re debating whether or not to go during that time: there’ll be loud party music next door, with a bass that made our car alarm go off and the lights in the bedroom flicker, on Fridays and Saturdays until about 2 or 3am. As we didn’t go to bed much earlier than that most evenings, it was alright, but the last Friday before check-out it did bother us, and we didn’t get much sleep. The showers were great, the house was clean, and the beds were comfortable. The only real downside was the noisiness of the house. Half of the beds are in ‘open’ bedrooms, meaning there are no walls or doors between them and the living room downstairs. The other half are in a room above the kitchen, but despite that room having a door, you could hear everything that was said downstairs. So, if you’re traveling in a group that isn’t on the same sleep schedule, this might not be the right place for you. The house is, like others have already stated, a little dark. But it’s beautiful and the garden is absolutely lovely, as is the sauna. I think back on our week there fondly. Thank you!

war insgesamt okay, Pool und Sauna sehrt gut. Bei Ankunft mussten wir aber feststellen, dass einige Dinge defekt waren (Eingangstüre öffnete sich nur einige Zentimeter, Außenbeleuchtung zum Teil defekt, drei Stühle vom Außentisch gebrochen, eine von zwei Liegen bei der Sauna defekt). Reaktion des Gastgebers war schnell und die Dinge waren zum Großteil auch innerhalb von zwei Tagen gefixt, aber trotzdem etwas blöd anzukommen und so viele defekte Dinge feststellen zu müssen - trübt die Urlaubsfreude zuerst. Ausstattung im Haus war gut, einzig die Coach und einige Stühle waren etwas abgenutzt (Flecken) - aber noch okay.

Schönes Ferienhaus, aber offensichtlich nicht instand gehalten. Draußen stehen nur fünf Stühle für acht Personen; vermutlich wurde nicht jedes Mal ein Ersatz besorgt, wenn einer kaputtging. Drinnen war das Geschirr im Schrank schmutzig und der Kühlschrank funktionierte nicht richtig. Die Küchenausstattung war spartanisch. An der Deckenleuchte waren drei Strahler angebracht, aber nur einer war installiert. Die Dunstabzugshaube war kaum effektiv. Die Badezimmer selbst waren schön renoviert. Es gibt Schlafplätze für acht Personen, aber nur ein Schlafzimmer für vier Personen; die anderen vier befinden sich auf zwei offenen Zwischengeschossen. Saisonbedingt war der Pool geschlossen, und nur der kleine Garten war zugänglich. Die Sauna war jedoch gut. Fahrräder waren nicht vorhanden, obwohl sie normalerweise verfügbar wären. Das Ferienhaus ist nicht für Familien mit kleinen Kindern geeignet, aber ideal für Freundesgruppen, die alle ungefähr zur gleichen Zeit schlafen gehen und aufstehen. Der Grill im Freien war voller Schimmel und unbrauchbar; Holz für den Kamin war nicht vorhanden.

Wir hatten eine fantastische Zeit in dieser Unterkunft! Der Außenpool war perfekt, um sich an den heißen Nachmittagen abzukühlen. Die Kinder waren begeistert! Die Lage ist ebenfalls wunderschön, umgeben von üppig grünen Hügeln, die zu herrlichen Spaziergängen einladen.

Das Haus war sehr schön & in der Sauna konnte man sehr gut entspannen. Das hintere Zimmer war leider sehr kalt und hat einen Tag gedauert bis es warm wurde. Abends konnte man vor dem Kamin entspannen. Man könnte noch etwas an der Sauberkeit schleifen, aber ansonsten hatten wir einen angenehmen Aufenthalt.
