Comfortable and cozy lakehouse on large lot less than one hour drive from Atlanta. 2 bedroom, 1 bath, full kitchen including dishwasher, microwave. Shallow, sandy bottom sloped area at edge and deep water off the dock. Also, gas grill, fireplace, and washer/dryer. Sleeps 8 (2 kings, 2 sets of bunk beds). There's Wifi and a flat screen (Roku) TV. Picnic table on the patio, and a table and chair set on the deck. Swim at the sandy bottom beach and off of the deep water dock. Kayaks available for use by renters. Groceries and restaurant nearby.

Great stay at Lake Jackson

Our family of 6 had an amazing time. We were looking for a place that wasn't too far away from Atlanta and thankfully we found this house. The kids got to swim, fish and kayak - exactly what they wanted to do. We look forward to coming back.

Wonderful lake house

We enjoyed our stay at this lovely lake house. The dock was our favorite place to hang out in the mornings and evenings. Being right on the lake was great!

Perfect Vacation Spot

We spent the 4th of July at this beautiful lake house. The home and property are perfect. The dock is amazing. The host was extremely nice and very easy to communicate with. We will definitely be looking into renting again.

2nd stay was even better than our 1st!

This is our second visit to this amazing lake property. Everything you need for tons of outdoor fun. We grilled, roasted s’mores, kayaked and brought our fishing poles and got a few bites. Great family weekend with an amazing dock and the most gorgeous views.

Relax on the Lake

This was a very relaxing place. Very clean and cozy. Great spot on the lake. The private beach area was really convenient for the kids to enjoy some swimming. Fishing was good as well. Caught about 40 catfish in 2 nights. Would definitely stay here again. Host communicated with me before, during, and after I checked out.

Perfect lake house experience

The house was immaculate, with everything where they said it would be. The dock was a great place to unwind outside, and the sunroom was a great place to unwind and see the lake from inside. Enjoyed taking out the kayaks from the beachy area. Relaxing and private.

Lakeside serenity

Our family spent the July 4 holiday weekend at this wonderful cabin. The kids were occupied the entire stay with swimming, fishing, kayaks and games. No screen time didn’t bother them at all! We rented a boat for one day which we all enjoyed. The swim area made getting in and out of the water easy and the dock was shaded and relaxing, great for morning coffee or evening beverages. Only one really busy day on the channel (July 4), otherwise it was pretty low traffic. Best weekend we have had is a while.

Beautifully preserved little lake house

Stepping into this house is like going back in time! It’s such a beautiful home, that is very well maintained! So clean. We couldn’t believe how clean the carpet was. We have stayed in a lot of vacation homes, and this one is in our top 3 cleanest homes we’ve ever stayed in. Very impressed. The setting is gorgeous and it was just such a wonderful place to get away for a few days. It left us feeling refreshed and the best compliment ever- our kids didn’t want to leave! We plan on staying here again! Great and fast communication from the owners as well. Thank you for this experience.

Great Swimming

We stayed 6 days and spent the entire time in our bathing suits lol. The house is bigger than it looks in the pictures and very comfortable. We had some issues with two of the eyes on the stove and a plethora of spiders at night lol but that was it and totally minor. The little beach on the lake was perfect as were the dock and the kayaks. All are easy to use, easy to access, and easy to clean up. The fire pit was great, and the owners provided a stack of wood to use so we only had to gather little sticks for kindling. We had the very best time swimming and kayaking every single day. We also walked through the woods and found a rock waterfall with what I think was a natural spring next door. My 6-year-old prob jumped off the dock 100 times lol. Thank you so much for letting us experience your home on the lake. It was fantastic!

Amazing Property!

We spent a weekend here for my husband's 40th birthday, and it was absolutely amazing. We have a 3 yr old and 5 yr old, and this property is perfect for anyone with young children! Only a short walk from the house to the dock, a private beach area for the kids to play in the sand, and a gradual drop off for safe swimming. The dock is incredible with a big comfy couch and beautiful views of the lake. The paddleboard was a huge hit with my kids! The house itself is clean and cozy with very comfortable beds! It had everything we needed! The sunroom was our favorite place to sit and enjoy the view! There is a big convenience store and Dollar General only 3 minutes from the house. Larger grocery stores only 15 minutes away. We tried Blind Pig BBQ and Four Brothers Fish & Chicken - both about 15 minutes from the house with excellent food! We could not dine in because of Covid, but the food traveled surprisingly well. The fried shrimp and hush puppies were a favorite! Jean was incredibly nice and easy to get in touch with. We would love to come back to this house and make more wonderful memories! In fact, I hesitate to write such a good review because I don't want anyone else to book this place! Thank you for sharing your little piece of heaven with us!

What a difference a day makes...

Lovely lake and access to three kayaks and a paddle board are fantastic..the main selling point for us. Just be aware that the house is on a main drag for boat traffic. Saturday would be a good check out day. Trying to kayak or swim off the dock is like riding a bike on I-85 in Atlanta! Boats and wave runners constantly FLY by. Sunday morning, however is a different story. It was quite pleasant and quiet..followed by Mon being even more so. The dock is very well done, it’s biggest selling point. I started each day there with my coffee and ended each evening with a glass of wine. The house has the essentials and was suitable for the four of us. The two larger beds have AMAZING mattresses! My only other negatives are the smell of mothballs and the spot light in yard. When we first arrived we were overwhelmed with a strong mothball smell, I understand the need for them but it was quite uncomfortable. Once the house cooled down and we had been in and out enough, we adjusted. When the sun goes down an extremely bright light comes on right next to the house. We joked that planes were coming in for a landing. Unfortunately, roasting marshmallows lost its appeal. Jean was great. She was easy to get in touch with and responded to questions in a timely manner. Groceries and gas are just around the corner. Jackson is close by for lunch and a filming location for Stranger Things.

We will return for another vacation!

This has been one of our favorite vacation rentals ever! The lake views are gorgeous from either the living room with a fireplace and big screen TV or the sun room with its bank of windows overlooking the yard. We saw deer and blue heron, squirrels and blue birds. The furniture in both rooms is comfortable, each with a couch and chairs with plenty of pillows. The kitchen was well stocked and the freezer has an ice maker. The grill outside worked great and our steaks tasted amazing. The bedroom we stayed had a king size bed that was so comfortable. Not too hard, not too soft…just right. There were extra blankets and pillows in the closet. There are several comfortable places to sit outdoors, on the deck or out on the stone patio where you can build a small campfire. All with fantastic views of the water. The covered dock on the water is another beautiful place to sit and there’s a small, clean sandy beach area right beside it. We took our folding chairs down and sat there in the sun with our feet in the water. There’s a Dollar General maybe a mile away we used a few times for incidentals. Very convenient. We drove into Monticello and ate a few meals and even found the Sac-O-Suds where the movie My Cousin Vinny filmed in 1992 and took some photos, bought a t-shirt. If you’re looking for a relaxing, low-key, peaceful place to rest and rejuvenate, then this is the place for you. Jean is responsive and helpful and has gone out of her way to create a lovely vacation destination on Jackson Lake. Thank you, Jean! xoxo

We Keep Returning to This Beautiful, Peaceful Getaway!

My family and I once again thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Jean's lake house. We love all the various spots to relax and enjoy time as a family, both indoors and out. We love watching sunrises and sunsets over the lake, relaxing on the deck, grilling, roasting marshmallows over the fire pit, playing in the sand and shore on the private beach, and kayaking together as a family. Jean is an excellent host and communication, check-in, and check-out were smooth. We hope to have another opportunity to relax in this serene setting!

Cozy with an amazing view!

The lake house feels like stepping back into your past. Like a visit to your grandparents house, it was immediately homey and comfortable. Very clean with plenty of room for sleeping and hanging out. The dock is generously sized and we spent many hours during the day and into the evening, relaxing and watching boats pass on the lake. We enjoyed the kayaks and spent quite a bit of time exploring the area around the house. The beach was great for our youngest. He loved building sand castles and playing in the shallow water. Our family had a wonderful weekend away and look forward to visiting in the future.

Great spot

We had a great time at this rental. We were looking for a last minute get away near Atlanta where we could get great Wi-Fi and some peace and solitude - this rental was perfect for our needs. Excellent Wi-Fi + a lovely front room with floor to ceiling windows and a beautiful view of the lake. Working in this area was truely lovely. The private dock is a short walk down a grassy hill/front lawn. The dock is well taken care of and feels secluded - we didn’t see any next door neighbors, we did see a neighbor across the lake :). The host is very nice and took extra care to accommodate our last minute reservations. Would recommend + book again!

Very Relaxing Getaway

Great host and lovely house on the water. Short walk down to the covered dock. I sat there often to read and write. Perfect place for a getaway and still within range of good places to eat.
