The Island Inn was designed with your vacation in mind, every detail was considered to insure you are able to relax and enjoy. The Inn is a lake front private home that you can call your own. The lake front wrap around deck is a great place to entertain, unwind or watch the sunset over the lake. Get away and relax in this peaceful and tranquil home on Otter/Sylvan Lake in Oakland County Michigan. This home has been meticulously renovated with all new furnishings ( square feet of 2-story space including a finished basement, 4 bedrooms, 3 full bathrooms, 2 full kitchens, and 3 door walls that lead out to a lake front wrap around deck! The master suite has it's own private lakefront balcony and a corner jetted tub - a retreat within a retreat! This incredible vacation home will sleep up to 9 guests comfortably all in beds (9th is a roll-away and can go in any room).
Amenities include; Lake front, lake views from almost every room in the house, gas grill, 2 natural wood burning fireplaces, and docks to fish from. The home is located in Waterford, Mi, 10 miles from DTE Energy Music Theater (Summer concerts), 5 miles from the Palace of Auburn Hills, Pine Knob Ski and Snowboard Resort, 10 miles to downtown Birmingham, 7 miles from Great Lakes Crossings Outlet Mall, 30 miles to downtown Detroit (and the casinos!), and within a 10 minute drive or less to tons of shopping, dining and night life! Bring your own boat/lake toys - docks available for your use. Paddle Boards, Pontoon Boat, etc. available for rental.

We had such a wonderful time at this lovely home during our wedding week! The home was spacious and clean. Stacy was responsive and so kind!! I’m not sure what happened with the stars- there is no pool and I think I accidentally hit that mark. If you’re even thinking about it - just book! So pretty and we saw deer most mornings across the frozen lake!

Great getaway for our group

Beautiful view, deer, nice area.

The lake behind house, plus the island, boats to see, deer, black squirrels, wonderful place to stay. Owner put out a nice selection of snacks, very clean, highly recommend! Hope I'm not forgetting anything....

Truly five star! The best of the best!

The Island Inn is truly one of a kind.... Stacy and Tom have done a great job with the decor, high end mattresses/linens, top of the line Televisions, .... I just cannot give enough praise for the experience my family and I enjoyed during our five day stay. We loved being able to fish literally in our back yard, being 10 minutes to the largest outlet mall in Michigan, 10 mins to Costco, and spending time on the beautiful lake (Stacy organized a rental pontoon boat for us to use during our visit). My husband and I are already making plans to spend 2-3 weeks at the Island Inn next summer! Truly a peaceful, elegant place to call 'home'.

We love to see new places but it will be hard to top this one!

For sure this "Island Inn" themed Lakehouse gets 6/5 starts in our book! We came from Arizona with my husband and ten year old and I and flew in mom and baby sister. We had aunts, uncles, grand parents and cousins come from the surrounding area and they were all equally impressed. We did a ton of cooking, swimming, floating and gathering and none of it could be matched! Ohhhhh and the fishing!!! Even had a couple poles included :). Wegot to take a peak at their island Tiki Bar! We just returned from Costa Rica and it was VERY similar believe it or not. Wasn't super clear if we were supposed to be visiting that or not so just want to throw out that it and the golf cart if not included might want to outline that more clearly, or if you are reading this, ask. The decor of the house, layout, amenities are SO IMPRESSIVE!!! Paint is new, literally these hosts didn't miss a THING! Extra hygene items in a basket in the closet, even cards and games! 2 kitchens including tons of spices, great knives...made hosting our whole family with out eating out a breeze. Excellent patio furniture, tons of outdoor dining, bug spray included (and in some times of the day, needed). GORGEOUS neighborhood, AMAZING neighbors! GREAT LOCATION! Costco, Target, Dicks Sporting Goods all with in 5 min. I have family all over the state no one was more than an hour. Sufficient parking. Did I mention the decor? WOW! I have stayed at most of the 5 star hotels in LA, and this takes most! HAD to be professionally done. Wow. Check in check out so easy, awesome little guest book, BREATH TAKING VIEWS from all 3 floors. Just wow. THANK YOU Stacy, you and your family are so kind and thank you for doing this!!! SOOOOOO much better than any hotel! Great for adults, parties, families, these kids (and us) had a BLASSSSSSST!

wunderbares Haus in wunderbarer Lage

Das Haus ist gepflegt und bietet alles was man braucht. Der Check-in ging über einen Schlüsselsafe an der Haustüre problemlos. Ausreichend Schlafmöglichkeiten (wir waren 7 Personen) und viele Handtücher vorhanden. Küche gut ausgestattet, mit fehlte nur eine Teekanne. Die Lage ist traumhaft, großer Rasen direkt vor dem Haus und die Lage direkt am See ist toll. Von den Nachbarn durften wir Kanus ausleihen, vielen Dank. Im Garten am See gab es, etwas versteckt, eine tolle Strandbar. Leider wussten wir nicht ob diese zum Haus oder zu den Nachbarn gehört. Eine Info wäre hier hilfreich gewesen. Die Klimaanlage funktionierte gut. Leider gab es am vorletzten Tag einen Stromausfall in der Straße, wodurch sowohl die Kaffeemaschine als auch der Geschirrspüler Schaden genommen haben und danach nicht mehr funktionierten. Überall im Haus gab es Gästebücher in die man sich eintragen konnte. Im Souterrain gab es viele Bücher und Spiele, sowie eine zweite Küche und eine weitere Terrasse mit Zugang zum Garten. Das Haus wäre also auch für zwei Familien geeignet.

Beautiful place for relaxing with family!

We had a great time at the LAKEHOUSE! It was beautiful and we had plenty of room to relax and enjoy each other! It was close to everything! The weather could have been better but maybe next time mother nature will be kinder! Love Michigan!

Lovely Family Stay with lots of room

Visited with family from all over and used this as a central spot for fun outdoor days and visits to the Henry Ford. This lake house was worth the drive because it gave us the relaxing spot every night to enjoy each other. Would love to come back in the future!

Lake House was perfect ❤️

Thank you for such a great home to stay at. We are from the West Coast and came to Michigan to see family. The Lake House was perfect for us. We enjoyed the views, fishing for northern pike in the lake, and watching the fireflies. We had plenty of room and coffee on the deck was a morning treat. All the surrounding plants on the property were a very nice touch. Thank you for such a great place to stay!

Memorial Day Weekend 2021

Pro: Layout of house for two families Two refrigerators and basically two living spaces. Plenty of towels Multiple televisions Nice area outside for hanging out -lots of running room for kids as well Fishing poles for use and great fishing! Comfortable house overall Private- not super busy location Cons: Could have used more of a deep clean- spider webs in corners and on windows, deck was dirty and we had to sweep It off Killed multiple spiders in the basement. Should be sprayed possibly Grass was long and mowing company came during our stay on holiday weekend while we were in the yard. Wish this would have been done before we got there. Lots of goose and swan feces near the lake Great stay overall just overall cleanliness needs improvement.

Exceptional!

Stayed here with family while we were in town for my brothers memorial service at the Great Lakes National Cemetery. The location was central to that and other family and friends. Fun pubs and restaurants also very nearby. It worked out perfect. The house was better than pictured. We had a few minor bumps but the owners acted quickly and went above and beyond to accommodate me and my 7 other family members. The house has room enough for all to have their privacy as well as several perfect gathering spaces. Home has 3 levels - loft bedroom upstairs (no door) but did not seem to be an issue for Dad and Stepmom. We used the pool table more than we thought we would (it is on the main level or 2nd floor adjacent to dining/kitchen). The large sectional for relaxation along with a 2nd kitchenette downstairs in basement or 3rd level which also has the walkout to a firepit and the gorgeous lake. Views are amazing! The deck wraps around the side and back of the house and had comfy furniture - we found the cushions in the garage. The owners were truly generous with ample stock of amenities and sundries - even had coffee and chocolates! Yum! We would DEFINITELY stay here again -- preferably during the Summer months when we could've facilitated the lake. Thank you to Stacy and Thomas for their exceptional hospitality! They are truly super hosts with a fabulous rental!!!

Serene Getaway

My family enjoyed this serene lake house getaway! We especially enjoyed the walkout basement, main floor kitchen and pool table. All beds are comfortable. The hosts were very responsive to our needs. We look forward to returning to fully enjoy the lake.
