Gabriela is the kindest host. We stayed here with our 4 kids aged 11 and under and it was magical. We had fresh eggs from her chickens, veggies from her garden, welcome bottles of wine and she even baked me a cake to celebrate me graduating from university! It was an unforgettable experience and I’m so thankful for her generosity. There’s so much to do in the area and gorgeous beaches! We loved our stay here and highly recommend it!

Gabriela is the most genuine, kind person you will ever meet! She is a breath of sunshine. She had food and wine awaiting us including fresh eggs from her chickens and homemade jam which was such a surprise and welcomed when we were so tired on arrival. We love dogs and got a chuckle out of Goodie and Max visiting us at breakfast each morning. Looked out the door and there they were waiting in anticipation. The grounds are lovely. You can't go wrong if you like nature, animals and a lovely host.

Wonderful visit!!

Gabriella was an amazing host and so very friendly. The fresh eggs, ham, cheese, and bread was a wonderful treat for our breakfasts. Wish we could have stayed her longer.

I wish I had more time to stay here! Incredible place if you’re looking to get away from the city while still being close to sightseeing, food, etc. The property’s access to the Sintra- Cascáis natural park allowed us to hike to see multiple historical ruins and we even made it all the way to Praia da Ursa. Had no problems getting uber to/from Lisbon and to the Sintra town. The bread, cheese, ham, and jam provided is so thoughtful and allowed us more time to enjoy the property. Gabriela and her daughter Maria were both so friendly and welcoming. The dogs on property are also adorable and ready to greet you each morning. I would absolutely come back here, thank you Gabriela!

The parking was good,although there were other cars and trees(cork) to navigate around in the driveway. We were welcomed warmly by hostess and found Gabrielle to be a wonderful lady. She had put eggs from the chickens on the property also a fresh loaf of bread and cheese from butcher. We found pods of espresso coffee waiting for breakfast. We loved our stay.The dogs were waiting to say good morning each day. We went to Sintra town and Cascais also . Went to the Praia da Aguda beach. Beautiful. Scenery was so amazing. Thank you Gabriella for your hospitality .

Beautiful accommodation in a nature preserve

Such a beautiful location with thoughtful gifts like bread, cheese, wine and fresh eggs. The hike in the nature preserve on location is stunning and gives you the true feel of living like a local. Highly recommended if you want to stay off the beaten path. There are precious K9 ambassadors on site to warmly greet you with your kind host. Highly recommended!!!

So kind

Maria was wonderful. All of the extras that she does is so nice after traveling all day. We didn’t have to rush to find something to eat. The dogs are a sweet welcoming. Highly recommend!

Gabriela's lovely farm and orchard made our Portugal stay even better! She was so warm and friendly and welcoming, she even provided us with some complimentary groceries upon arrival, including farm-fresh eggs from her own chickens. The view was fantastic, and everything we wanted to see was so close by! Even her dogs were super friendly and welcoming, and that's saying something, because I'm not really a dog person... :) Gabriela made everything right for us during our stay with her, and we will definitely be staying with her again if we go back to Portugal.

Great stay in the Sintra Nature Reserve

We had a very nice stay at Pedra da Lua. Gabriela was a great host, very friendly and supportive. She took very well care of us. When we arrived, we found fresh eggs (from her own chicken), bread cheese, butter, ham and fruits. The place is great in summer, when you want to escape the heat of the city. It is good for hiking and for visiting all the nice places around, like Pena, Monserrate, Castelo do Mouros, Cabo da Roca and it is not far from the beach. We enjoyed staying there for more than a week. Kerstin and Andreas

Mountain top house

Host Gabriela was wonderful. She even had fresh cheese, ham and eggs ready for us for breakfast the next day. Property exterior is just to my liking. Very wooded. Interior is clean and traditional. Definitely had a olden day home feel to it. Place is ideal for 4 but we were a group of 6 so with just one washroom we found it challenging. Fairly close to major attractions in Sintra. We preferred this location as it is away from the hustle and bustle of the city and situated on the mountain. For the price we paid, it was decent.

Gabriela is a wonderful host. She welcomed us with her very sweet and friendly dogs and walked us through the home. She was very accommodating, leaving us a welcome package with snacks and wine and gave us suggestions for attractions and restaurants. We were lucky to visit in June when her garden was blooming, it is a very beautiful property. We were able to park on the property which was very convenient.Sintra is beautiful and we highly recommend exploring the gardens and caves of Quinta de Regaleira especially if you have children. We Ubered as there is such limited street parking and one way roads.Also, nearby the rental is Moinho Dom Quixote, a kid friendly restaurant with an amazing terrace and views of the Atlantic.

Gabriela is a fantastic host!

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay, we only wish it could have been longer. The house is very clean. Our host had everything ready for us. The pellet stove was warm and inviting. Fresh eggs from the chickens on the property. Bread and wine, cookies, ham, cheese and local jam all waiting for us. The area is a world heritage site and close to magnificent beaches. We needed more than a couple of days to experience it all. The directions to the house that you find on VRBO are not correct. The site will mess you up. I suggest that you check with Gabriela on WhatsApp before proceeding to the house.

A wonderful stay

We had a lovely stay at Gabriela’s beautiful estate in the Sintra hills. I can not imagine a more perfect host; she was the perfect mix of warm, welcoming and easy-going. Gabriela took very good care of us during our stay. We really appreciated the bread, meat, cheese, wine, fresh farm eggs and delicious homemade jam on our arrival, especially since all the grocery stores were closed on our arrival (we flew in on Easter Sunday). We especially enjoyed the garden, fruit orchard and hens. The dogs were all very gentle and sweet. One thing I was unsure about was the location, but it turned out to be one of the highlights of the stay. There is a beautiful hike literally out the back gate, we were only a short drive to Cabo da Roca and the most amazing hike/scramble/beach (Praia do Ursa). It was easy to drive to Sintra for the day. I was worried about parking, but Gabriela gave us great advice on where to park and we had no problems. Most of all, I am so grateful to have met Gabriela! Muito Obrigada!

The best part of our trip to Portugal!

If I could give this place a 10 star rating I would. This is exactly the sort of vacation home we love. Six friendly dogs to greet you at the gate and a beautiful apartment that felt like home. A pen filled with chickens and a quiet rooster, made this place feel like we were off the beaten path despite being right off the 247. Gabriela and her husband were the most accommodating and kind hosts. When we arrived, we found a loaf of fresh bread, ham and cheese and farm fresh eggs, and wine! It was perfect because we were hungry from driving directly from the airport. There is a beautiful hike right outside the back gate. 3.5 km up to the Sanctuary of Peninha, which overlooks Cascais and Cabo de Roca. We drove to three local beaches and sat and read listening to the waves. We drove to Sesimbra (an hour) and went for a swim. We drove to Cascais (half an hour) and Mafra (less than an hour), which made this spot absolutely perfect. We regret going to Porto and Lisbon to be honest. You should know Qinta de Senhora de Vida is in Colares, between the ocean and the Sintra hills, so it can feel damp and laundry takes a little longer to dry. The spot would be perfect for a family or a few quiet friends. If anyone asks me where they should go in Portugal, I am going to say this place, and don't book anywhere else.

Tolle Lage für Natur-und Tierfreunde

Wir haben unseren Aufenthalt besonders auf der Veranda genossen. Als große Tierfreunde haben wir uns außerordentlich über die regen Besuche von Goody und Tonja (2 der 6 Hunde) gefreut. Gabriela war eine großartige Gastgeberin, beschenkte uns zu Beginn mit vielen leckeren heimischen Produkten und war immer mit Rat und Tat zur Stelle. Vielen Dank, Gabriela!

Paradies in den Bergen Sintras

Über diesen wundervollen Ort könnte man Seiten schreiben und um es kurz zu sagen, es war in nahezu jeder Hinsicht traumhaft. Nun im Detail. Es gibt genau drei Dinge, die wir (junge Familie mit zwei kleinen Kindern) als nicht ganz optimal aufführen würden...die Dusche ist ein bisschen schwach auf der Brust, in der Küche feuchtelt es (zumindest im Mai noch) recht arg, und die Straße ist deutlich zu hören (was an der Nähe zur Straße liegt, was gleichzeitig ein riesen Vorteil ist!). Eine neutrale Info zwischen rein: Man darf keine Furcht vor Hunden haben - es gibt 6 davon und sie laufen frei auf dem Gelände herum und kommen einen besuchen, werden jedoch nie unfreundlich oder aufdringlich. Nun zu den Dingen, die diesen Ort so traumhaft machen: Die riesen Terrasse überdacht und in einem Garten am Hang mit uraltem Eichenbestand, der selbst bei Hitze die Wohnung und Terrasse angenehm temperiert hält. Der ökologisch geführte Gemüsegarten, in welchem man frische Orangen vom Baum für Saft, Rosmarin vom Busch für die Bratkartoffeln (aus dem Garten) und Salat pflücken kann. Die stilvolle Einrichtung, inkl. automatischem Pellet-Schwedenofen im Wohnzimmer und großen und gemütlichen Betten. Die fantastische Lage zwischen den schönsten Stränden in der Region Lissabon/Sintra (Adraga 5 Minuten mit dem Auto), den Palästen und Klöstern und der Nähe zu Lissabon, welche alle Wege kurz hält. Und zuletzt, aber beinahe am wichtigsten, die fantastische Gastgeberin und Besitzerin, Gabriella - ein Mensch, so herzensgut, freundlich, offen und respektvoll, wie man ihn nur finden kann! Wir kommen in jedem Fall wieder und wenn möglich bald!

A great stay with wonderful hosts

The farm is really beautiful and picturesque, perfectly positioned for nice hikes and days by the ocean. The hosts are incredibly sweet and helpful! Gabriela and Jose will make your stay unique and give you a real taste of the Portuguese hospitality. Totally recommend!
