The Villa la Paillote is set over two levels, overlooking a stunning and serene garden, with its saltwater swimming pool and shaded terrace. The terrace has garden furniture to accommodate 8 people, so that family and friends can enjoy those sultry summer evenings on the French coast. The outdoor dining area nearby – also 8 spaces – allows for dinners by the water, catered for by the summer kitchen and its plancha and barbecue. Besides relaxing by the pool, lounging on the terrace, and enjoying the shade of the century-old olive and pine trees, there are plenty of activities for young and old: from table tennis and a trampoline, to a game of the old Jeu Provençal of pétanque on the purpose-made court.

The Villa la Paillote opens up onto a grand entrance with a piano and a placard. The living area comprises a living room with its large sofa, armchairs, TV, and contemporary decoration, a dining area with tables and armchairs for 8 guests, and lastly a modern, fully-equiped kitchen (coffee machine, kettle, fridge, freezer, dishwasher, etc.) with a large central island with 5 more spaces. The property is light and airy thanks to the large bay windows which give direct access to the terrace and swimming pool. The ground floor also offers a laundry room, including a washing machine, dryer, iron and ironing board, etc.

Also on the ground floor, you will find the master bedroom with its radiant floor cooling system, en-suite dressing room, and bathroom with a shower and bathtub. This bedroom benefits from direct garden access. Upstairs, the secondary living room has unobstructed views of the landscaped gardens, swimming pool, and wooden pergola. It is connected to the 5 other bedrooms on this floor: 4 are doubles, and 1 is a single children’s room. These bedrooms share two shower rooms between them, which are modern and extremely well-lit. Finally, the upper floor contains shelves with dozens of board games for all ages, to keep the whole family entertained.

Villa Paillote has a garage for 1 car, which you will probably not use. Most shops are at walking distance (village market, bakery, grocers, pharmacist etc.) as the villa is located a stone’s throw from the medieval centre of the village of Sommières. The town is famous not only as the region’s centre for leather and linen, but also as the home of organic vineyards and olive oil producers. Its Roman aqueducts and medieval fortress are not to be missed; you can ascend for views of the whole Vidourle valley on your way to Saturday Farmers market. For active outdoors enthusiasts, the area offers accrobranche (treetop adventure parks), outdoor escape rooms, and sculpture parks (showing performances of ancient techniques), as well as a variety of sports : kayaking, canoeing and paddle boarding, cycling along the “Voie Verte”.
