What a wonderful place! What lovely, kind hosts! The atelier is full of charm and character, the perfect couple's getaway and the private pool surrounded by old French oak trees was pure bliss in the afternoon heat. The south of the Luberon mountains is our favourite place in Provence, quieter and more lush than north of the mountains and jam packed with vineyards, olive groves punctuated with Cypress trees, idyllic! Easy distance from L'isle-sur-la-Sorgue and Aix-en-Provence. We loved local markets in Cucuron and Lourmarin, wine tasting at Val Joanis and olive oil sampling at Bastide du Laval. The best was the craft and food evenings in Cucuron, eating by the etang in one of the lovely restaurants with bands playing music as the sun went down (just like in 'A Good Year' film!). But what you can't get from a review or pictures is just how utterly peaceful and tranquil the atelier is. We spent most afternoons floating in the pool with bees buzzing and long tail butterflies dancing between the potted lemon trees. The light reflected off the water onto the olive branches and we sipped wine, blissfully happy. Thank you so much to Mireille and Frederic. I cannot recommend the atelier enough. The perfect holiday!
