Dorset Eco Retreats - Ansty, Dorchester

A splendid collection of three unique eco retreats situated in rural and beautiful North Dorset, each enjoying a wood fired hot tub and enviable views of Bulbarrow and The Blackmore Vale. Perfect for extended families or group of friends to celebrate a special occasion together, whilst allowing privacy and the comfort of individual dwellings. Each of the eight bedrooms has its own en-suite and comprise of six king-size bedrooms and two twin bedrooms with 3' single beds.

Located on a working farm with the Wessex Ridgeway on the doorstep, Eco Retreats at Ansty comprise of Bracken and Fern, both accommodating six guests; and Bramble with accommodation for a further four guests. Each of these stunning retreats is single-storey and open-plan with a ground source heat pump providing underfloor heating throughout, a decadent wood fired hot tub, and a cosy wood burning stove, amongst many other superb features.

With the Wessex Ridgeway on your doorstep, walking opportunities are endless. If you feel inclined, wander into the village of Ansty via a quiet lane and across a bridleway, where you will find a charming farm shop, post office and good local pub. Ansty can be reached in around 15 minutes on foot, otherwise in around 3 minutes by car.

Each eco retreat is also available to book individually; Bracken (sleeps six guests); Fern (sleeps six guests) and Bramble (sleeps four guests).

A travel cot and highchair are available in each property on request.

Each property has use of its own private wood fired hot tub with logs provided which you can collect from the log store. Please read full instructions on the operation and safety of the hot tub which can be found in the house folder. Please do not use detergents or toiletries in the hot tub. Please supervise children at all times around the hot tub when the cover is off and be aware that the firebox will be hot when lit and the water can also get very hot without supervision.
The property is not suitable for stag parties. Hen parties are welcome.

    Wonderful option for an extended family gathering

    We were a party of 13 including 5 children and so took all three chalets which gave us a safe and relaxed environment within which the younger children could wander. The quality of the chalets (especially the en-suite bathrooms for each bedroom, and the hot tubs) appealed to parents and grandparents alike. Stunning early morning view and sunset. Great location with plenty in the vicinity when the occasional bad weather encouraged us offsite. Friendly and helpful host.

    Family Break

    Great property in a great location. It couldn’t have worked better for our family group of 10 adults and 6 children ranging from grandparents to three year olds. The weather was good, we walked to the Fox for lunch, the children loved the walk up to the farm to see the cows! Hot tub a huge success for all. We shut the gate and we had a secure and safe playing area for the children. The lodges were clean, very well epuiped - brilliant. We’ ll be back!

    Really enjoyed our stay , it was a family gathering for my husband’s 70th birthday

    We loved the countryside, very peaceful, lovely walks . Lodges were well equipped and comfortable. Hot tubs were great. Perfect for our family gathering.

    Amazing family adventure

    There were 3 families coming together to celebrate a 40th Birthday and New Year’s Eve. The smartness, and cleanliness and the provisions of pots, pans, crockery and utensils was brilliant. The provisions left were thoughtful and used. The comfort of the beds, was very good. The view utterly amazing. We all enjoyed ourselves and being self enclosed it felt safe for the children to go into another lodge. The children loved the hot tubs. For a place to get away from it all definitely would recommend.

    A beautiful week away

    We hired all three lodges as a family of 15 and had the most wonderful week blessed by amazing weather. The lodges are absolutely beautiful, spotlessly clean and are kitted out with everything you could possibly need. The views are stunning and unspoilt - we were treated to the most spectacular sunsets most nights. The children loved the hot tubs and spent hours in them! I couldn’t recommend the Eco Lodges enough!
