A well-located and comfortable house

Tachbrook Cottage is in an excellent location, convenient to restaurants and places to visit in the Cotswolds. It has two well-appointed bathrooms and a pleasant little garden for alfresco dining. The condition of the property was clean, though the upholstery in the sitting room would benefit from a refresh. Otherwise, we had a very pleasant stay.

Wonderful stay

Would 100% recommend booking a stay in this lovely cottage, everything we needed on hand, it was perfect for our girls weekend away and catch up. Brilliant location in walking distance to The Bell and The Bull and where we have some fantastic food and drinks. Would definitely rebook.

Very comfortable and homely

This is our third time to stay in Tachbrook. It was every bit as nice as before. Very comfortable & homely house. Lovely garden. Kitchen well stocked and everything you need, but a small welcome pack would have been appreciated. Beds are bed linen are good quality and very comfortable. En-suite shower enclosure/tray needs a bit of attention. But will definitely come back as it’s a lovely property all round.

Charlbury break March 2026

We had a very nice stay at Tachbrook. Being right in the centre of Charlbury is ideal, with easy access to great pubs and cafes. It is also well placed for exploring the Cotswolds vilages and great walks from the doorstep. The property is very clean and well equiped. Lovely walled garden to sit out if the weather is good. We stay at a lot of holiday rental properties and this is at the top of the range.

Beautiful Cotswold Stay

This property was remodeled to a very high standard and sits in a great location in Charlbury. The local community was great with local gathering spots and all the essential needs. We are definitely going back for a longer stay.

A nicely laid out floor plan with excellent amenities for both bedrooms. The house was well presented and had a generous amount of utilities and linen etc. Good parking .. overall an excellent experience

Fabulous cottage

Fabulous cottage, perfect for 2 couples catching up for a weekend away. Big comfy beds, immaculate house, kitchen was really well stocked up so we could cook and eat in very comfortably. Lots of little extras to help our stay, walking books and local information and the washing machine was used after a very muddy walk. Thank you, a really lovely stay. Vanessa

Wonderful!!!!!

It was wonderful. We loved the inside of the house. The beautiful charming old building that was completly renovated and modernised in a wonderful way. We also loved the beautiful designed and well kept garden. The area around was great, being in the middle of the nice town of charlbury and also in the middle of the beautiful cotswolds

Tachbrook Holiday Stay

The location of the cottage central to the village of Charlbury - easy to access local shops and the two pubs [The Bell just had a 'make over ' and having had a meal there not that impressed]. The cottage had a small driveway which was a bonus rather than trying to park in the road, which was quite narrow for passing traffic. The inside of the cottage comfortable, kitchen small but all the appliances were of good quality. Only issue was the small size of the dish washer - which meant it had to be carefully filled and put on frequently. Bathrooms and bedrooms excellent. Rear garden very nice for sitting out [when we stayed the weather perfect.]

A holiday home that you would like to take with you or move into straight away

The house is simply wonderful. It is very tastefully furnished, you could move in here immediately, has all and more amenities (insane cooker, lots of dishes, big fridge, washer and dryer, grill, nice glasses) has enough space for a family with one or two children or for two couples, a beautiful little garden with two super seating areas. You can park your car very comfortably in front of the garage or if it is a smaller car also in the garage. The house is opposite the village church and in two minutes you can reach wonderful pubs; we were very enthusiastic about the Bull. We still think a lot about the lovely time we had in Charlbury / Tatchbrook.

Excellent Character Cottage

My wife and I rented the Tachbrook in Charlbury for 15 nights in October, and we LOVED it! The home is full of character while possessing every modern convenience: excellent hob, two showers with ample hot water, very good cable TV package, and acceptable WIFI, comfortable bed, and very quiet (yes, you can hear the church bells ring out the time on every hour, even at night). Location is great; Charlbury is close to most areas in the Cotswolds. While it was a quiet location, reservations for supper are required (as the excellent pubs get full very fast). Getting out of the driveway was a bit nerve racking at first (because you can't see if anything is coming around the corner) - - we solved this by having my wife stand across the street and let me know when it was safe to pull out. Highly recommended!

Tachbrook - Lovely Cottage and Location

This was our first time visiting the Cotswolds. The cottage is very charming and has all of the necessary modern conveniences. The beds are super comfortable and the off-street parking is ideal. Charlbury is a wonderful town that exceeded our expectations. The location was central to many of our day trips. We enjoyed our evening walks, passing by friendly locals and fellow visitors. The church bells ringing Sunday morning was wonderful. The Charlbury train station is just a short drive. London is approximately an hour train ride. The Coop is great for picking up necessities or a quick snack. There were a couple of areas in the cottage that were not as clean as we expected, notably, the bathroom and kitchen surfaces and the laundry area. That said, once we gave everything a quick wipe down, all was good. Overall, we thoroughly enjoyed our stay in Tachbook and Charlbury. Our trip to the Cotswolds was our first but will not be our last. Both the cottage and town have set a high standard for our future visits. We will strongly considering booking Tachbrook again.

Perfect Autumn stay at Tachbrook

This was the perfect welcoming cottage in a great location to explore The Cotswolds. Spotlessly clean and well thought out for short breaks or longer stays, it was stylishly furnished, but also very comfortable. Would highly recommend for couples and smaller families at any time of the year.

Fabulous location for exploring the Cotswolds

We had a wonderful stay in the Cotswolds the cottage was perfect for our family of four (including two toddlers). So clean and well equipped. Walking distance to the down and really close to Blenheim Palace.
