Casita Lodge | Romantic Hot Tub Stay for Two

Casita Lodge is a romantic hot tub stay for two, set in a peaceful square opposite St John’s Church on the edge of town in the Forest of Dean.

Close to the South Wales and Herefordshire borders, and tucked between the Rivers Severn and Wye, it’s a lovely base for woodland walks, viewpoints, riverside places, local experiences and time away together.

Inside the Lodge

Inside, Casita has a warm, open-plan living space set up for easy stays together. There’s comfortable seating, Smart TV and Wi-Fi, so you can settle in easily after a day outside. In cooler months, the log burner brings warmth to the space, with a fleece blanket ready for curling up with a film, a book or a cup of tea.

The kitchen is well equipped for simple meals in, whether you’re making breakfast before heading out or putting together something relaxed in the evening. It looks out onto the enclosed courtyard garden, and the dining space is a nice spot for late breakfasts, simple dinners or a quiet drink at the end of the day.

The bedroom is simple and calming, with soft linens, dimmable lighting and everything ready for a comfortable stay. The en-suite has a rain-head shower for a slower start in the morning or a warm rinse after a day out walking.

Outside Space

The enclosed courtyard garden gives you your own private outdoor space during your stay. There’s seating for morning coffee, a BBQ for easy meals outside, and a private hot tub prepared ready for your arrival.

It’s a simple space, but a lovely one to come back to after a day exploring, especially for a quiet drink, an easy evening meal or a relaxing soak in your own hot tub under the stars.

The Area

Casita Lodge is set on the edge of town, in a peaceful square opposite St John’s Church. The main woodland walks are within a 5-minute drive, and a car is recommended for making the most of the wider area.

The Forest of Dean is known for ancient woodland, lakeside paths, river views and scenic viewpoints, with something to enjoy throughout the year. It’s a lovely area for walking, cycling, canoeing, scenic drives and quieter days outside.

There’s local heritage too, with heritage railways, mines and caves to explore, along with wildlife safaris, nature reserves, local crafts and activities from tree-top canopies to underground caves.

You’ll also find places to eat nearby, from relaxed pub meals and cosy cafés to afternoon teas and restaurants for a meal that feels a little more special.

For a special evening in, Harts Barn Cookery School offers a hire-a-chef service. Guests can arrange this directly with Harts Barn, agreeing a menu in advance before the chef and waiting staff come to Casita to cook and serve your meal in the comfort of the lodge.

Further Afield

For a different kind of day out, Bristol, Cheltenham Spa, the Cotswolds, Hereford and Cardiff are all around an hour’s drive from Casita Lodge.

The nearest beach is Porthcawl, around 1 hour 30 minutes away. It makes a lovely change of scene, with a headland walk from the town, across the cliffs overlooking Rest Bay, then on towards the boardwalk and Pink Bay.

Good to Know

We like to be transparent in our pricing. That is why you will not find any extra booking fee, damage deposit or hot tub fee. You pay your rental fee and it includes everything.

A car is strongly recommended so you can enjoy the best of the Forest of Dean and Wye Valley. There are a few places within walking distance, but many of the lovelier walks, viewpoints, places to eat and days out are a short drive away.
