A beautiful Railway Carriage, with stunning views & use of the Ndoro Pool.

I love this Railway Carriage, it has that fabulous feeling of being cozy yet spacious. The bedroom so romantic ... you can lie in bed and watch the wildlife stroll across the field. The kitchen area has all the mod cons, there's a table for two and a snuggly sofa, looking out through the double doors to the woods.. Outside, there's a large canopy with private patio where you can sip your wine, whatever the weather, spot the deer and watch the sun go down!

THE NDORO POOL:
Swimming in the Ndoro Pool, is the most beautiful, memorable experience.
The pool has no heating or chemicals, therefore completely natural. Plants, dragonflies, newts, water mussels are some of the wildlife that live happily in the ecosystem.
Working with nature and maintaining the biodiversity of the pool is absolutely essential. Although rare, this can mean pool closure, we don't know when it will happen, or indeed, how long it will take to restore the 'natural normal balance'. We trust you understand.

Quaint cute property perfect stay

Had a lovely quiet break here just what we wanted and needed , beautifully decorated and had everything inside we needed, the most comfortable bed I’ve ever slept in ! Lovely friendly hosts definitely stay here again

Lovely weekend stay

We arrived on Friday evening after a long drive from Scotland and Hillary could not be more welcoming and accommodating! The railway carriage was beautiful on the inside surrounded by a stunning landscape and wildlife which was so bliss. The room was spotless and the bed was very comfortable. We would love to stay here again and for even longer next time!

Beautifully converted railway carriage, everything that you would like in little cottage had been thought of and well presented. The addition of the awning was good and made the outside space even more useable. The location is nice and peaceful. I tried the ndoro pool and really enjoyed the experience of wild swimming in a safe surrounding. Good communication from the hosts. Will look forward to visiting again.

Lovely get away

The hut was super cosy and the bed very comfy! The natural pool was beautiful if you’re into cold water swimming Hilary and her husband were very friendly and gave very helpful advice! There were great recommendations given by Hilary and check in was easy! The shower was cold which we were warned about, so be prepared!

We had a glorious few days here

The carriage was absolutely charming, very thoughtfully and beautifully fitted out. It had everything we needed for a really lovely stay. Having the natural pool to use was a real bonus and we had some lovely swims in it. Hilary and her family were delightful, so friendly and welcoming. There was plenty to do in the area so we really want to go back and stay again. Thank you you making our stay so good

Stopover to attend a wedding

Just a couple of nights mid-week to attend our nieces wedding. Provided all necessary amenities, a perfect set up. Lovely views in rural location. Really helpful proprietor who kindly returned my kindle. Really enjoyed our, short, but enjoyable stay. Thank you

What a wonderful location for the perfect getaway. I went with my 9 year old son and we didn’t want to leave. From cosy nights in the carriage, to swimming in the natural pool, to playing with the friendly dogs, to searching for wildlife in the pool. The trip had it all. Great location for exploring the local area and Hillary and Nick are very happy to help with everything in-between. We will be back!!

Absolutely beautiful converted railway carriage. Ingenious use of space created a snug but airy vibe. Gorgeous views, privacy from the neighbouring cottage. The owners Hilary and Nick are the perfect combination of hospitable and laid back. They even allowed us to use their swimming pond. Spotlessly clean, super comfy bed. Great place to enjoy the English countryside. I arrived to a Roe Buck 50 yards from the front door and woke to a Doe the following morning. Hilary was the hostess with the mostest and nothing was too much trouble: I felt she really did want my stay to be the best ever. The Carriage was super comfortable with everything you could need. I will stay again. Thank you.

Blissful couple of days

We had such a relaxing 2 night break! The hosts were fab, welcoming and great communication before we arrived. It's a beautiful setting and the carriage itself was great, loved having a view from everywhere we sat! It had everything we needed to cook which was a bonus. The pool was fun (aka freezing!), It's a great addition and we really enjoyed the local walks. One from the carriage and another around Calne/Bowood House. The hosts recommended Somerford Arms to eat and it was amazing, food, service, everything, we were really impressed! All in all a perfect getaway xx

Luxury Glamping at its best

This little railway sleeper has everything anyone could possibly need! It’s really tastefully decorated & comfortable. Toilet, hand basin & shower all in the little bathroom within the unit.. no trekking across garden or field to use the facilities. Hilary is the most wonderful host, gave us the warmest welcome & even put some fizz in the fridge so we could celebrate my 50th! A dip in the cool swimming pond was perfect on such a hot weekend. We saw deer in the field & thoroughly enjoyed the peace & quiet of this beautiful spot. I would highly recommend this little gem & would love to visit again!

Amazing Peaceful Property

This is a great little find within short driving distance for all that the Cotswolds has to offer. We arrived in the evening and Hilary was there to greet us and show us around. The carriage itself has everything you need and we were grateful for the wine, juice and water in the fridge aswell as the tea and coffee. The property was very clean and tidy and so cosy for 2 people and such a peaceful location overlooking fields. Use of the natural pool was a bonus, although we didn’t fully take advantage of this as we didn’t get back until late. We loved it and will be back, thanks to Hilary and family for making us feel welcome.

Perfect midweek recharge

A lovely place to stay and recharge our batteries. Clean, comfy and lovely and quiet. Hilary was the model host who made us feel very welcome and had some excellent recommendations for the local area. The natural pool was INCREDIBLE! Looking for another excuse to get away already...

Perfect little hide away

The railway carriage is modern, cosy and has everything you need for a few days away. It’s a perfect little hideaway. The host Hillary was so welcoming, she made me and my mum feel immediately at home in her picturesque part of the world. Hillary, gave great local recommendations and ensured our stay was as pleasant as it could be. In the time leading up to our stay she was very understanding and communicated effectively to support us through Vrbo issues. It was a truly lovely stay from start to end. I would highly recommend!

3 night stay

We had such a lovely, relaxing country stay. The property is exactly as pictured, plenty of space for 2 people and amazing views. Hillary and Nick were so welcoming & provided lots of suggestions on where to go/what to do. There are so many beautiful places to visit nearby and we absolutely loved using the natural pool too. We would definitely recommend!

Had the BEST time!

I had a wonderful time in Hillarys Cabin! It's so cute and has EVERYTHING that you need. A microwave, a freezer, the best mattress in the world and all the little things that make your stay just perfect. Also the hoster Hillary is one of the nicest people I've ever met! She's just beautiful. I will definitely come back :-)

Hilary went above and beyond!

We had a fabulous stay at the old railway carriage in Lyneham. The carriage was extremely clean, tastefully freshly decorated and has great views of the open fields where you can see deer at opportune times of the day stroll past. The carriage has a private bathroom and it’s own kitchen with utensils. The carriage is positioned so that guests get adequate privacy from the main house and it has a separate outside screened seating area and it’s own parking space. On request guests can also use the natural swimming pool at the main house too! We were welcomed with a friendly note and a bottle of wine for our anniversary. Hilary then went out of her way to provide us with great ideas for days out and she also provided excellent restaurant suggestions. We tried 3 of the restaurants suggested and food was excellent at every one. Hilary went over and above to make our stay special and even helped my my husbands shirt that needed ironing. We would highly recommend this carriage as a place to book. It is conveniently situated close to many points of attractions. We visited Longleat and Salisbury which are an hour away but also visited historic national trust Avebury, Lacock which has been used as a film location in several films. Malborough, Tetbury and Royaj Wooten Bassett which are all close by! If I visited again I’m told to also try Coombe Castle. Thank you Hilary for making our stay special.

Loverly place, loverly host was a very nice experience, amazing scenery and a lot bigger then it looks in the photos, very quiet and tucked away would highly recommend. Amazing time we will be booking again

What a location !!

We really enjoyed our weekend break at the carriage. The view across the field with the woodland to one side is amazing. We saw plenty of deer some came very close to the carriage. Hillary was the perfect host. Once she settled us in giving us good advice on places to visit and venues to enjoy food at she left us to relax. Thank you Hillary for a wonderful stay and the bottle of wine . We will visit I hope again soon . Best wishes Shaun and Karon

2 days off grid

Went for a 2 day secluded get away with may partner who's 7 months pregnant . Carriage was spotless and although on the owners property very private and quiet . Host was super helpful and welcoming and having access to the wild pool was a real bonus. Only thing missing was something like a little step or box to help older people up onto the bed as ots quite high up. We were fine bit could imagine someone older might struggle.
