Amazing island Easdale

Had a fantastic couple of days on this special island. The cottage was exceptionally comfortable and clean with good beds and well equipped kitchen. We enjoyed our walks with amazing scenery and learning about the history of the island. Hope to return some day

Cosy cottage

Easdale Cottage was really cosy and comfortable. The owner had thought of everything and it was a real home from home feel. The location is stunning. We had a wonderful week here and highly recommend it as a base to explore from.

Chilled out Easdale break.

Everything was perfect. Amazing views, comfortable and relaxing accommodation. No issues have booked another fortnight.

The perfect escape

The location in Easdale Island is the perfect escape from madness of life. The cottage was very spacious, clean, quirky & cosy. The attention to detail to cater for all guests (dog beds, bowls, toys etc.) meant a real home away from home. There were games, dvds, kitchen supplies etc.. which was fantastic I would highly recommend a visit and West Coast Cottages whom we're very attentive and easy to contact. 5*

Lovely cottage

We loved the cottage, the excitement of going across on the ferry, the gardens both back and front give amazing views. After a walk round the island it’s wonderful to come back to the cosy living room.

Briefly - the cottage is perfect. Beautiful location, extremely comfortable beds, all amenities provided, interesting books, warm stove, incredible garden and views, responsive host. Already looking to book again; highly recommended.

Hidden Gem

This is our second visit to this property. The property is well equipped comfortable, spacious and well presented, the best views of the island a charming location. The island may be small but is full of beauty at every turn.

Great Holiday cottage

We had a lovely time at the Easdale cottage. The cottage was cosy and comfortable and the garden views were fantastic. The cottage was well equiped and we had everything we needed. Overall, we really enjoyed our stay!

A short Scottish island break

Lovely cottage which is fully equipped. Quirky location with friendly residents on the island. Accommodation has a fantastic position overlooking the harbour to one side and Jura and small islands to the other. Great place for a short break.

Cottage of dreams

Stayed for a week, absolutely fantastic, already booked for next year, host is amazing, nothing too much trouble, the cottage facilities are great, and has always been spotless, the island itself is wonderful, peace and quite away from all the hustle and bustle, my go to place...

What a lovely place!

We really enjoyed our stay -- and our mini wire-haired dachshund enjoyed it even more. Great for dogs -- Rufus couldn't have had more toys, beds or bowls to try out. Lovely cottage, very cosy with a well-stocked dry cabinet! It is a very special place and we will return.

A perfect stay on a magical island

Our group had a fantastic stay over the weekend in June. The cottage was immaculate and had everything we needed. Homely and so cosy, it was really perfect. The views around the cottage the from the decking were breath taking. We didn't want to leave! We cant wait to return!

Such a special place!

I cannot recommend this place enough, it is an absolutely gorgeous cottage in a stunning spot & Ross was such an amazing host. Beautiful views from the front and the back of the cottage, a lovely cosy set up inside and all set on a wonderful and incredibly peaceful island. Everything we needed! We will be back!

Another wonderful stay

Long weekend with daughter and soninlaw and grandchildren. It is as always a paradise on Easdale. Went down with the granddies to the world stone skimming site and even the 2 year old was up for it. Warm and comfortable in the cottage. Beautifully decorated. Lovely views from the cottage as well as on walks around the island.

A really great Easter holiday in Easdale Cottage

The cottage was just fantastic for our holiday. It was large and comfortable, the kitchen was excellent, and the wifi / TV / DVD were also first class (so good to still have a DVD player and a choice of DVDs!). The location was so beautiful as well. Before the holiday we were a little worried by the prospect of the ferry - but it was absolutely fine, and a fun change from using the car door to door. We immediately got into the routine of ferry times (there are plenty) and using the wheelbarrow. One of the best holidays we have had in a long time.

A luxury cottage on a blissfully unspoilt island with a diffence

Great fun that you have to get the small ferry across to the island there are no cars on the island so you use the cottage’s wheelbarrow and trolley to take your belongings up to the cottage. The cottage has every thing you need for self catering better equipped than many I have stayed in The island was slate quarry so you find the remains of the slate working every where but that is all bit different You can swim in the old quarries again something a bit different Ideal place for a real chill out break

A peaceful place...

Lovely cottage in a fabulous location. Spacious and well equipped. The lack of cars on the island, and barrows to transport your stuff to and from the cottage is novel... The pub and it's restaurant is excellent, but not open all the time. The coal fired heating and hot water system takes a bit of effort, but is cosy when going. Clearly a damp issue in some areas, with de-humidifiers provided. All said, we loved it - and very unusually, would consider returning!

Thank you, Lindsay for taking the time to leave us a lovely review, we are glad you enjoyed your stay on the Island :-) Don't worry there is no damp issue in the house at all, the dehumidifier is only left in the cottage for when guests are out and about in the rain and come back and hang there stuff up. A lot of the cottages on the island have them as they are small crofts its keeps the wet to a minimum is all. thank you again for staying, would be great to have you back in the future. Beautiful house on a beautiful island

Myself, my husband and our children enjoyed a wonderful stay in 39 Easdale. The house was everything we could have hoped for, in a beautiful setting with fantastic views from the front and back. The gardens provided a number of seating areas so we could always catch the sun and it was ideal for some rare Scottish al fresco dining! Inside the house everything had been thought of and was a lovely quality, it made our stay very easy. The instructions were very clear and easy to understand, and there was lots of information about the island. The island itself is stunning and we never ran out of walks, scrambles or pools to skim stones in! Our children have already asked if we can go back again next year, and my husband and I were only too happy to agree! A wonderful find, thank you for our stay.

Short but sweet stay at Easdale Cottage

We spent 5 nights at Easdale Cottage & thoroughly enjoyed the cottage, facilities, location & views. The cottage is tastefully decorated & well stocked. Dual heating option is a good idea, although the fantastic weather we had meant we really only used the stove to boost the water heat. The cottage gardens are super to sit in & take stock of the views/wildlife & enjoy a beverage with a book/pair of binoculars. The Islanders were warm & friendly, the ferrymen helpful & witty. The Puffer & The Oyster Bar were a smashing spots to grab some tasty food. Walks around the island & Ellenabeich interesting, lovely gardens (Armaddy & An Cala) & the local museums full of artefacts & info to pad out our knowledge of The Slate Islands. Would definitely recommend Easdale Cottage & Island......we hope to get back.

Everything we could have hoped for and more!

Easdale Cottage is a beautiful cottage , tastefully styled and has everything you could possibly need and more!!! Ross couldn’t have be more helpful to ensure we had a perfect stay. Loved the log burner in the evening whilst we played board games. The location is stunning with lovely seats in each garden to enjoy the views on both sides of the island. The island was idyllic , we loved swimming in the quarries , skimming stones and crabbing and fishing at the harbour. The ferry is fantastic, lovely friendly service. The kids were delighted when we stepped off the boat and found the lovely park, with the Puffer restaurant/ bar overlooking, delicious food!! Great little museum with a lovely lady who had a wealth of information about the history of the Island. We had an amazing week and didn’t want to leave!
