Bike store. On-road parking. No smoking.. This large, detached Grade two listed property is set on the outskirts of the pretty town of Montgomery, close to the town’s amenities.
The Offa’s Dyke National Trail runs close by to the town, providing a good excuse to get on your boots and head off for a walk, with vineyards and homemade ice cream suppliers nearby. Guests are also very close to the National Trust properties Powys Castle, Chirk Castle, Erddig and Attingham Park. The Welshpool to Llanfair steam railway, Montgomery Canal, and Lake Vyrnwy are all local and well worth a visit. Quad biking, paintballing and horse riding are all available locally, and watersports can be found at Bala Lake and in Llangollen, a 40-minute drive. Historic Shrewsbury is a 30-minute drive away, while within easy driving distance there is also Welshpool and Newtown all of which host a wide range of bars, shops and restaurants, and the west Wales coastline is approximately an hour’s drive away.
The property is detached and is set in an elevated position. Enter into the entrance porch, where you can leave your muddy coats and boots after a busy day out. On the ground floor, the living room features comfortable seating and Smart TV, while the kitchen is well-equipped with everything you could need during your stay, including a dishwasher. Up on the first floor are three comfortable bedrooms, comprising a double room, a twin room and a bedroom with a bunk bed. The family bathroom features a shower over bath, W/C, and sink.
Outside, large gardens accompany the property and are laid to lawn. There is seating space, private garden furniture and the garden is enclosed. There is also space for bicycle storage.
The guest will be charged 50% amount for a cancellation after the reservation is made.

We had a lovely stay in The Ramparts. The house was amazing, with beautiful views, mearby shops and walks in a lovely little village. We had everything we needed, the information provided was very good, access into the property was clear after booking. We loved it and would book again.

The Ramparts is a wonderful, comfortable pet friendly accommodation. It offers amazing views, particularly in the upstairs rooms. As well as the views, it is spacious, very clean and warm with excellent facilities. It offers great value for money.We have been to Montgomery many times and always enjoy the peace and tranquility as well as the beautiful countryside and walking. The shops in Montgomery are well worth a visit. The Dragon Hotel has good food and excellent service if we don’t want to cook or drive. Thank you to our hosts for a wonderful stay. The fruit loaf, milk etc. on arrival is a perfect additional touch. We hope we’ll see you again soon.
