Expensive - good property

Nice place to stay but expensive. Very hot weather for our time there - no air con and curtains thin so don't keep rooms cool. Both bathrooms no blinds or curtains so very hot. Walls of the rooms thin therefore noise travels. Also could do with property maintenance as in main bathroom - towel rack hanging off wall.

Ideal family break

Great base from which to explore Bath, Bristol and the surrounding area. The property has all a family requires for a comfortable stay.

Perfect for family getaway, the barn feels so much bigger then the pictures show, really clean and tidy and lovely touches with milk bread and cake awaiting our arrival, would recommended

Great location

A well appointed and comfortable cottage on a working farm in a great location, not far from a park and ride site with a frequent bus service into Bath. Lots to see and do in the area. We had a hiccup on our first morning when we could get no hot water for our showers, but the friendly owners offered help immediately and were able to sort out the problem very quickly for us, so we would have no hesitation in recommending this property.

Comfortable and homely place to hang out

This is a really well furnished and cosy unit ideal for a group or family to spend time together. Loved the wood stove and excellently equipped kitchen. Hosts were very friendly and helpful.

Lovely country escape

This is a beautiful home away from home. The location is wonderful, and the property is curated with love and attention. Everything was spotless. One surprise (although it should not have been a surprise as it is clearly mentioned on the website!) was that the Stables are truly part of a working farm. Coming from a country with a tradition of 'agriturismo' we assumed that the property would be 'part of' a working farm in a slightly more abstract way, e.g. be located in one of the fields or similar. Rather, the Stables are located on the farmyard and next to other stables that are part of the working farm. This is not a problem or downside (there is no noise or other nuisance at all!) but just good to keep in mind. We expected to be surrounded by fields, which is true on one side, but on the other side, there is the farm yard where, naturally, also other people come and go during the day. Still, only mentioning this to manage expectations - the property was amazing and we had a wonderful stay! Warmly recommend!

Lovely accommodation

Accommodation is spacious and modern. Very clean. As declared it is a converted barn located on the edge of the farm yard. Hosts very friendly, milk, cookies and vegetable crisps supplied.The cow sheds are near and the cows are vocal early. Thoroughly enjoyed the property, had everything we needed.

Amazing place … absolutely perfect for a country break

We absolutely loved staying at The Old Stable … it’s gorgeous, a great location and there is so much to see and do. The owners couldn’t have been more helpful. The house itself is a beautiful conversion and is kitted out with everything you could possibly need. We loved that it was on the edge of their farm - seeing horses, cows and sheep from the windows every day. Wouldn’t hesitate to go back!

Delightful stay.

Friends and I had a very delightful stay in this lovely three bedroom two bathroom property. Ultra clean, lovely and warm, with the option to use the log burner. A well equipped kitchen should you wish to self cater. There are lovely views from the kitchen and lounge window and although this property is on a working farm, there is little or no noise to interrupt your stay. Adequate parking for 2 to 3 cars which you can park very close to the entrance door for easy unloading. We drove into Bath which is approximately 7 miles away, and on a separate occasion we chose to use the park-and-ride which was brilliant and drops you straight into the middle of town. I would have no hesitation in recommending this property for hire.

Peaceful, comfortable and relaxing

We had a very happy week in the Old Stables. Our hosts were welcoming and helpful and were happy to show our granddaughter the horses and other animals on the farm which she loved. The location was great - near Bath and Bristol - and we also visited Westonbirt Arboretum which is not far away. The house was just right, spacious, warm and comfortable and very well equipped.

Comfortable, Clean and well appointed

The house was exactly as shown on the website. We appreciated the large entrance lobby with plenty of space for outdoor coats and shoes. House was warm, clean and had everything we needed for our stay. Good sized fridge/freezer, efficient oven, dishwasher and plenty of crockery. Good location for Bath and Bristol. We used the park and rides for both locations and were very impressed with both. Highly recommend Old Stables

Very well equipped property and peaceful location

We were visiting our two grandchildren, energetic boys aged 11 and 8, and were extremely grateful to have the Old Stables to retreat to and recharge our batteries for the next days activities!! The property has everything that you would wish for in a holiday let, and is very spacious and clean. Underfloor heating meant it was warm and welcoming in the evening so we could relax in comfort. Comfortable beds meant an excellent night's sleep (much needed!!). Excellent location, close to both Bath and Bristol, with Longleat about an hour away - all of which were visited and enjoyed. We would certainly recommend this property.
