The Stable Block offers comfortable accommodation for couples seeking a luxurious getaway, just a stone's throw from beautiful Porlock Weir. This cottage boasts a fabulous bedroom from where you admire the wonderful views of the terrace, garden and Porlock Bay from the juliette balcony.
Main Description
Downstairs an open-plan living and kitchen area provides a range of modern conveniences to make your stay as comfortable as possible. There is a dining table for meals, although you may choose to take advantage of the views and eat outdoors during the summer months.

The Stable Block is adjoined to The Coach House, another holiday property, which also sleeps 2 guests.
The Stable Block is strictly non-smoking.
The property will be ready from 2 pm on the day of your arrival. Please depart by 10 am on the last day of your stay. Please leave the property clean and tidy so that we can guarantee it will be ready on time for our next guests.
Indoor Description
The Stable Block kitchen is fitted with a dishwasher, fridge-freezer, electric combi-oven/microwave and ceramic hob. Other equipment includes a toaster, kettle, cafetière, and a variety of kitchen utensils, cutlery, crockery and glasses. Please note the kitchen was refitted in 2020 and does not include a washing machine.
A television (with Netflix) and CD player are provided in the living room, and wireless broadband is available throughout the property. A DVD player is not included.
Electricity and heating costs are included in the price of your accommodation. The Stable Block has underfloor heating controlled by a thermostat, which can be adjusted to suit your preferences. There is also a wood burner in the living area.
Logs: Logs for the wood burner can be added to your booking at checkout (£10). Kindling and matches are provided. If you'd like additional logs during your stay, please contact us and we can arrange delivery.
Bed linen, duvets, blankets and towels are provided for your convenience, but please bring your own beach towels if you wish to take towels with you on day trips.
A small welcome pack including tea, coffee, sugar, milk and biscuits is provided to ensure you can enjoy a hot drink as soon as you arrive. There may also be other non-perishable items such as salt, pepper and a few herbs or spices available.
Cleaning materials including washing up liquid, dishwasher tablets and surface cleaner will be present in the property. Toilet rolls are also provided.
Outdoor Description
The Stable Block and The Coach House (another holiday property next door, sleeps 2) share a private garden. There is a table and chairs in the garden (down a few steps) for guests. As The Coach House has its owner's private decking area, the guests who choose The Stable Block tend to have the garden themselves. There are two patio terrace areas where you can sit to enjoy the view.
Parking
Secure off-road parking for one car is available directly outside the property, this courtyard is shared by The Stable Block and The Coach House (one parking space for each property).
This property doesn't have an EV charging facility. There are several public charging points in Minehead, and also in the Central Car Park in Porlock.
Pets Description
Dogs are welcome by prior arrangement (maximum of 2). A supplementary fee of £15 will be added to your invoice per dog. Please do not allow your dogs to sit on the furniture or upstairs. Sorry, cats are not permitted at the property.

The region
Porlock Weir is a picturesque harbour village on the Exmoor National Park coastline in Somerset, with a history stretching back to the 15th century. The small tidal harbour, with its ancient lock gates and pebble beach, sits at the heart of a thriving community.
You'll find a welcoming pub, restaurants ranging from relaxed dining to Michelin-listed Italian cuisine, cosy cafes, and a popular street food takeaway -- all within walking distance of the harbour. Independent shops and galleries line the lanes, including Exmoor Glass, the Harbour Gallery, and Porlock Bay Oysters, which opened expanded premises in 2024.
The larger village of Porlock is approximately one mile away and has a broader range of amenities including grocery shops, a traditional butcher, chemist, cash machine, hardware shop, visitor centre, and a selection of independent restaurants and tea rooms. Most shops in Porlock and Porlock Weir keep hours of 9am to 5pm, often extending during the summer season.
Porlock Weir was recently used as a filming location for The Salt Path, the adaptation of Raynor Winn's bestselling memoir about walking the South West Coast Path.
