The suite is now available for booking. It has a full size bath and shower, dining area, queen size bed to accommodate 2 persons. The convenient kitchenette includes a coffee pot, microwave, refrigerator, cooking surface and toaster. Located directly on Salmon Creek with stunning mountain views, a variety of wildlife including eagles, black bear, grizzly bear, river otter, moose, beaver can be spotted on the property. This superior location provides panoramic mountain, glacier and wildlife viewing directly from the spacious suite. Owned and operated by retired military officer and his wife.

Bear and Berry Lodge was perfect for us! Just minutes from Seward but far enough out of town that you have privacy and it’s quiet. Bed and pillows were so nice and comfortable. We enjoyed the outdoor space to sit out and watch for birds and wildlife. The view from bed was beautiful. We definitely recommend this little cabin!

Scott's property is in a beautiful location which overlooks the Salmon river. The cabin was clean and maintained. It is in a rural location yet close to the sometime bustling town of Seward. The bed was very comfortable and the room was mostly quite (although the road was fairly close). I had also caught some salmon and Scott was gracious enough to let us keep our fish in his freezer until we were ready to return to Anchorage for a flight home. The only downside was the lack of a grill (it was yet to be replaced) and the cooking plate which turned out to be somewhat of a challenge.

What a wonderful place to enjoy Alaska! Everything was exceptional. The cabin, the location, the views, the communication from the host and a wonderfully comfortable bed were all top notch. Great place to come and unwind after a busy day of site seeing.

Perfect Cabin!!

Beautiful handcrafted cabin with big windows to enjoy a large creek and wildlife!! Private, quiet, and roomy. We would love to stay here again!

Beautiful Spot!

We stopped here for 2 nights during our stay in Alaska. What a beautiful spot on the river! Scott was very communicative, the cabin was spotless, and the river view was absolutely stunning. It was also very close to town, which made everything super convenient. We truly loved staying here.The only small issue for me personally was the scent of a strong plug-in air freshener, as I’m quite sensitive to fragrances. Others may not notice it, but I wanted to mention it for fellow travelers with similar sensitivities. Otherwise, it was a wonderful stay!

Best VRBO experience to date!!

Scott was great with communication and gave a great list of recommendations! We loved the cabin and being along the river. If we could we would stay the whole summer. We were welcomed with a nice little note on a custom postcard with a picture of the home. My daughter is an avid birder and Scott gave her peanuts to feed the stellar jay’s and magpie. We also watched the Bald Eagle family (mom,dad and juvenile). We watched them catch fish and eat them. This property is wonderful being just outside of Seward with access to all the major attractions.

Hands down… one of the best places I’ve stayed. Steve was communicative and so helpful. His place over looks Salmon Creek. Lovely to hear the creek sounds when sleeping! Beds and pillows were surprisingly comfortable. Highly recommend! 10 out of 10

Wunderschöne Unterkunft direkt am Fluss

Wir verbrachten in der sehr großzügigen und sehr komfortabel eingerichteten Unterkunft 3 Nächte. Besonders gut gefallen an der sehr sauberen und gemütlichen Unterkunft hat uns die große Fensterfront zum Salmon Creek, mit der Möglichkeit Wildlife zu beobachten. Die Lage ist bestens geeignet für Aktivitäten in der Umgebung, wie Exit-Gletscher, Bootsfahrten ab Seward etc. Die sehr freundliche und schnelle Kommunikation mit Scott haben wir sehr genossen. Insgesamt absolut zu empfehlen.

Beautiful location

Very nice and modern open concept cabin with lots of windows. Great views of forest and mountain peaks. Really enjoyed seeing the salmon in the river. Hosts were gracious and ensured we had a lovely stay.

A truly Alaskan experience

Such a charming cabin! It truly felt like Alaska with all the furnishings and the view out the windows was the best. We loved watching the bald eagles fly over the creek. If it hadn't rained our entire time, I would have loved to spend most of my time on the deck, listening to the creek and watching the birds. The location was top notch. In a very quiet neighborhood and yet, not that far from Seward. I can't recommend enough!

Great Place to Stay in Seward

My husband and I stayed at the Bear & Berry Lodge as part of our first visit to Alaska. It was just as described and in a great location about a 10 minute drive from all of the activities and restaurants in Seward. The cabin was cozy, clean and inviting, and the owner was very helpful and always responsive. Great place to stay in Seward.

Exceptional stay, Great host, Beautiful location

We stayed for 3 nights in Sweard at the Bear and Berry Lodge. Scott the Host was incredibly knowledgeable, responsive and accommodating. He has a wealth of hunting and fishing knowledge and connected us with a vetted local guide for salmon fishing. We had a great time.

Beautiful cottage away from the bustle of Seward

My son and I had a wonderful stay here. It was so nice to come back to the peace and quiet after adventuring in the Seward area each day. We saw resident bald eagles each evening, and just missed out on seeing a bear cub. The property was spotless and had everything we needed. The owner had great suggestions on things to do in the area, and was super nice when we briefly met him on our way out. Great stay here! Would recommend.

Peaceful, relaxing stay!

Amazing Stay

The Bear and Berry is a magical place! Everything previous reviewers said it was! Beautiful, convenient location, amazing host, had everything we needed for our four night stay! By far one of the best experiences I’ve had on the best vacation ever! Scott knew the area, gave great recommendations and was always accessible. A must stay!

Nice place

We really enjoyed staying here during our visit to Seward. It was very clean and comfortable and the location was great for visiting the area! We had great weather and really enjoyed eating on the deck and sitting outside in the evening and watching the eagles!

Fishing, hiking and lots of relaxing

If you are looking for a great place the is quite but close to town this is it. We were close enough to town, hiking trails and fishing to enjoy all the amenities yet able to escape the hustle when we were at the house. We had a family of 4 stay here with no problems. We enjoyed looking out at all the animal everyday!! Hope to make this a yearly trip!! Thank you Scott and Melanie!!
