This guest suite is for 2 sleepers. Unplug, relax, enjoy the amazing views, play in the water, roast marshmallows at the fire pit and gaze at the millions of stars here at River Bird Lodging.
We have one of the most beautiful views along the Kiamichi River with Kiamichi Mountain backdrop. Our property is at a dead end road and river front and we have the best river access. Just walk down to our gravel bar area and fish, float or kayak in the river.
Our suites feature stunning views, the sounds and view of the river right outside your suite and the perfect place to chill out and drink your coffee or other refreshing drink. ***Brand new hot tub!!
Kingfisher Suite is a one bedroom with king bed, a cozy living room with two brand new rocking recliners and fully stocked kitchen.

This suite is located next door to the Mockingbird Suite also listed on VRBO which sleeps 4 in 4 twin beds. Rent both suites to sleep up to 6 people.

*Note* Our on-site host lives close to the rental cabin to help when needed.

We have easy river access, so bring your own river tubes, kayaks or fishing gear.
Our property is in a secluded area on 12 mostly wooded acres where you might find Native American artifacts as our property was previously occupied by the Choctaw people.
The property also offers 1 RV hook-up and plenty of parking room to bring your boat or ATVs.
We are located about 15 miles East of Sardis Lake and about 20 miles Southwest of the Talimena National Scenic Byway. ATV trails, hiking, fishing, and scenic drives are all close by.
Please note, the cottage is elevated about 10 feet off the ground and up 12 stairs.

Amazing location

The place was clean, the host and fur-host were wonderful, and the location can’t be beat. Beautiful spot right on the river. We enjoyed our stay tremendously.

Last minute trip

We decided last minute to go out town for Memorial Day weekend and we're so luck we found this place. We had an incredible weekend and the cabin and property we're amazing. We'll be staying again!

Peaceful heaven

This place is incredible, everything about it was just right, from the view, to the comfort and cleanliness of the place. At first we weren’t exactly sure of where god was taking us, but once we got there we fell in love. It was the most peaceful, inviting place. The hosts were very inviting and kind, lost of fun.

VBRO description under plays this location. Our unit lacked for nothing! Hostess immediately available in person and on-line. Great TV and wireless. Definitely a retreat from the pressures of life!!!!

Amazing!

This rental was more than expected. First of all, the pictures of the area on the site don’t do it justice. It was absolutely beautiful. The Kiamichi River and Mountains are majestic, especially as fall approaches and the colors begin changing. Second, the view from the cabin porch was spectacular. Next, this cabin is still so new, you can smell the newness. Perfectly painted, trimmed with rustic decor, and super clean. The refrigerator and fully complemented kitchen were ready for move in. The camp fire was very cool. There are no city lights that far out so the stars were shining like a picture. We were greeted by another couple first that were also guests. Two beautiful fur babies also eagerly greeted us (white Pyrenees and a boxer pup named “Boppy”) and were very friendly. Shortly after that, “Coach” welcomed us and made sure we were good. He was very nice. Later we met one of the owners and got to visit with he and Coach around the camp fire. We even discovered that the owners were from our area before they opened the cabin (such a small world). The welcome packet sent to us before we arrived was very helpful and detailed. It was a perfect drive from D/FW area (Denton). If you’re looking for a quiet, scenic, and woodsy getaway for two, or ten, where you can recharge and totally relax, this is the place.

Awesome location right on the river

Place is great. They have nice trails cut and mowed through the woods on the property with several paths down to the river. The rooms are really nice. It’s a great place to go and get away.

What a great little hideaway that opened up into a masterpiece view!

My man and I wants to retreat for EASTER weekend and we found this lute gem on the river with a mountain backdrop….the firepit was a PLUS! Clean, cozy and just what we wanted…we left only to take in ROBBERS CAVE an hour away. Can’t wait to visit again!

Great family get-away

Scenery was beautiful, hiking close by, great hosts, campfire was awesome, coach was nice, the beds were super comfortable, we’ve recommended to all of our friends!

Beautiful location

Great stay received a spectacular welcome by two friendly dogs, three nice cats and handsome young man. Door was unlocked, air conditioning on and cabin was very clean. Property Management was there and gave all the information and welcome. Bed was super comfortable. Will be returning possibly after the leaves change. Far enough out of town to be quiet but close enough to go do what you want with no delay. Really nice place.

Quiet retreat

We had a beautiful view of the river ofd the porch. The other guest were pleasant and respected your privacy. Cade (owners 10 year old son) was especially helpful. Always asking if we needed help carrying groceries or packages. Coach and the bearded one made us feel like part of the family.

Beautiful property, great hosts

I would give this stay 6 stars if I could. The property is located right on the river bank with a nice and fully-private approach to get in the river and soak or kayak or just lay back and watch the birds. The cabin itself is a good size, is tastefully and thoughtfully appointed and has every comfort that you need. There were board games and puzzles too! The fur babies (2 dogs and a crew of cats) are well-trained and they know to give you company if you seek it or leave you alone if you want the space. They guided our walks and hung out with us as much as we liked. My son would live with them if he could! The hosts were warm, welcoming and made us feel like like it was our own home. Beyond all the things you expect at a stay like this, the simple joy of fireside chats and laughter by the river with good people are things money can’t buy. We are definitely going back soon.

Beautiful views; no problems as long as you do not mind company

Gorgeous property right on the river. Very helpful owners on sight - willing to assist in grilling or just about anything else you may need. They light a fire every night - nice to enjoy and not have to worry about doing yourself. The lights on the stairs / cabins create a nice ambiance. Extremely clean and cozy. Only thing I would recommend is a bit more clarity in the property description as far as the owners and their 10 year old boy being in a cabin right next to the rental, the rental cabin being a duplex setup with a pretty small one bedroom on each side (you will have neighbors renting also), and that their will be company (owners, kiddo, and/or other renters around pretty much at all times - not much alone time or privacy). Everyone is very pleasant and easy to get along with, and this should not cause any issues, and would even be appreciated by those who enjoy socializing. Just feel like a heads up should be given for those who might want more alone time / seclusion. Overall, extremely beautiful, well maintained property.

Amazing & Refreshing

This property is the perfect spot when you need to disconnect from the busyness of life. We arrived after dark and as soon as we got out of the car we were greated with the sounds of the river. Waking up the next morning to the beautiful sunrise peaking over the mountains was breathtaking. James & Lisa have thought of everything to provide a home away from home and the bed is the most comfortable one I’ve ever slept in!!! The nightly campfires that Coach built are by far the best too. We can’t wait to come back soon!!!

Can't Wait to Go Back

My wife and I celebrated our honeymoon by staying in the Kingfisher suite cabin, and the thought that first came to mind as we packed up to head out after almost a week was, "Man, I can't wait to come back." The accommodations are very nice. I found everything you could need in the kitchen, plenty of room for a week's worth of grocery in the fridge, and a nice little table to enjoy your meals. The bed is gigantic, the bathroom was well stocked and I just found nothing to complain about inside the cabin. Not much of a TV guy, but there was one, and it was nice. I just don't really care about amenities at all, because I'm a dude. But my wife was extremely happy. What I care about are the outdoor aspects. James let us have full use of the four-wheeler to go exploring the property and riding the trails. There's an awesome covered grill and picnic area where you can sit and drink beer while you grill your steaks. There's room under the cabins to hang out and drink beer, with a small fridge to keep a few extras in. There are chairs on the balcony as well, with small tables between them, where you can sit and look at the beautiful scenery and drink beer. But then, there's the Fire Pit. Yes, it should actually be capitalized in the brochure, because that's the best part to me. Right by the river, and with plenty of night sounds to make the scene perfect. We heard owls and coyotes along with the frogs and cicadas. Looking up at the stars and roasting s'mores and drinking beer while sitting around the fire - that's what I live for. The best part of all this is the owner, James, and the grounds-keeper, 'Coach', who are always willing to sit out there and have a few beers with you and keep the fire going. We didn't get to hang out with Niki, but we expect she'll be around on our next visit. James and Coach are the two biggest reasons I have for wanting to make this place a frequent spot on my vacation calendar. They want you to feel completely relaxed and on vacation, and will stop at nothing to make sure that happens. This, overall, was one of the most relaxing and best vacations of my life. And I can't wait to go back and hang out with the boys again. I just can't say enough good things about the place, the people and the hospitality. Completely overwhelming. Thank you, guys, for making this a memorable getaway for my new wife and me. We enjoyed your company and conversation very, very much. See you soon!
