Quiet peaceful location

This was my second visit I was here 6 months earlier with my husband, so I came back to remember what a great time we had it did not disappoint. The house its situation the views are all perfect. Thank you so much for sharing this special place with us.

Return visit

I like the peace and quiet of this accommodation this was my second visit and my enthusiasm for it was such that two couples of my acquaintance have since made bookings. I like it so much I don’t particularly want to quibble over details. The location and my inclination means that self-catering is part of the holiday and I think the kitchen equipment (sauce pans and utensils) need replacing and although I can’t see how it could be managed I would love there to be a dishwasher.

A place to build memories

From the minute we opened the door our wonderful adventure began. We have had the best holiday for many years each day was such a joy and coming home to Glendale finished our days off beautifully. What a beautiful comfortable retreat - will never forget this week

We were only a couple so we cannot comment about family friendly activities We had a lovely sea view and the property was comfortable and clean.Perhaps a dishwasher rather than a washing machine in the kitchen would be more useful. Also the addition of a cafetiere would be goodWhen we arrived 2 drawers in the bedroom were unfortunately filled with someone's underwear and socks

Excellent location and lovely accommodation

The flat is really very well done and nicely spacious. The views are wonderful and looking out over the sea from the sofa was so lovely. Good location, incredibly peaceful but close enough to the town that you don't feel cut off. Bed was very comfy. Worth adding to the listing that the coffee machine is a Tassimo - I'd have taken pods with me had a known what make it was. The milk pots provided with the tea/coffee were all over a month past the use by date.

Glendale Cottage

Absolutely stunning scenery from the rear windows across the Solway Firth and is a truly peaceful retreat. Cottage is well kept, comfortable and has all the comforts of a home away from home with a few added extras. Nearest town is Silloth which is a 40 minute walka 10 minute drive away. Sainsburys and Tesco carry out home deliveries to this area as does Marios (a lovely takeaway) in Silloth. The neighbours are very friendly. Although I was advised about the scaffolding being erected during our stay it did detract from the view somewhat.

Peaceful

So lovely, really homely. All the essentials plus bits like sandwich boxes and a slow cooker in the kitchen. Tourist leaflets and info pack could do with udating. Would be helpful to have supermarket/ local market/pharmacy details. Limited rainy day things to do in the flat. No books, family games etc. However, Carlisle nearby. Loads of hidden tea rooms and cafes in the surrounding villages. Maryport is gorgeous.

This was one of the nicest holiday properties we have ever stayed in. Total peace and quiet, amazing views out of all rear rooms. Everything we needed, superbly equipped. Beautiful apartment with high spec and high standard furnishing. Fabulous bathroom with a great shower. Immaculately clean throughout and the most comfortable bed I have ever slept in! A lovely touch of little 'treats' for your stay. Not for anyone with mobility problems as there is a flight of steps up to the entrance. The road in is a little hard to find and a bit on the 'rugged' side but well worth it when you get there. We can't wait to go again!
