What a fun place to be in! The location was great if you are wanting quiet and quaint..it was a lovely place to experience the Cotswolds. However, only 1 little market, so this isn't a place to shop and a couple of restaurants.

This is a fabulous place to stay. The village the town is located in is very quiet and absolutely stunning. It’s in close proximity to other towns to visit for shops, eating, etc. The home itself is beautiful, clean, and very cozy. We are looking forward to our next stay already!

5* stay in small cute Cotswolds retreat

Amazing little terraced Cotswolds stone cottage in the heart of bloxley. We loved our short stay. It had everything we needed and walked to the cafe, pub etc… Only issue that was a little tricky was the street parking outside of that was amazing

Listed building. Very steep stairs

Comfortable beds, nice sheets, pillows and towels. Clean,functional bathrooms. Small, but clean functional kitchen. Lounge and dining area looked to have been furnished from second hand shops, and were dowdy, and old fashioned. The outside area at the back was scruffy, unswept, and all the plants were dead. We did not use it. Good location.Very handy pub, and also a great, air-conditioned, licensed “cafe” serving excellent food, less than 5 minutes walk away.

A beautiful house, very clean and well maintained in a very pretty village

The house is beautiful, and although it's old, it's perfectly restored, with many thoughtful details and very well decorated. The beds are very comfortable, and it has everything you need. It was very clean and well-maintained. The location is excellent for exploring other towns in the area. The town itself is charming. The only downside is a very steep staircase, which wasn't a problem for us, but it's something to be aware of. I would definitely return.

it was quiet thankfully but with good food and drink within walking distanceideally placed for all the headline tourist attractions of the Cotswolds

Charming cottage in a charming town! After busy days visiting other towns, it was nice to return to quiet evenings in Blockley. Be sure to have fans with you if staying during summer months. We kept windows on floors 2 and 3 open, but it was still unbearable at night and we had to buy fans. Also bring your own paper towels—none are provided.

Didn't see the host. Everything clean and new in the kitchen, but lounge and kitchen very small for 4 people. Unable to go up to top of garden because of scaffolding.

Hi, Glad you enjoyed your stay, apologies about the scaffolding, some urgent repair was needed to the garden wall. I'm sorry you felt the downstairs was small, We do include a floorplan with room sizes on the listing so the room dimensions would not have been a surprise before booking etc. Its also a period traditional village cottage so large rooms are generally not standard. Many thanks

A summer week in Blockley

Very good but garden access poor due to overgrowth. Parking somewhat tricky at times. One or two problems quickly sorted by local managers.

Fabulous spot in a beautiful village

Had everything in the kitchen but it is a tiny fridge so was difficult planning meals for 4 people and getting some drinks chilled. Bedrooms were comfortable, I think fans would help if you are there in the warmer months. Be prepared for very steep stairs.

Stunning Location

Wow!! What a glorious setting for our first stay in the Cotswolds. As we opened the front door we were immediately met with this beautifully renovated cottage, which has been very tastefully restored. The beds were so comfortable and the sumptuous bedding adorning them was sublime. Every detail had been thoughtfully considered for the discerning traveller. I would thoroughly recommend Bramble Cottage, as a setting to sample a traditional cottage, within the beautiful surroundings of the village, in the Cotswolds.

Very cosy cottage in the Cotswolds

The cottage was nicely decorated with some lovely touches. It was very clean and well equipped with everything needed. The bedrooms were really comfortable, although one significantly smaller than the other. Each had its own bathroom (the smaller room with a bath). The outside space was lovely, but unsuitable for those with limited mobility. Outside parking is on a first come first served basis. The village was very pretty with a pub and great cafe that serves a fantastic breakfast. Surrounding villages and attractions were within easy travelling distance. Overall, a great stay, many thanks to our hosts for their excellent information and welcome.

Great accommodation for someone spry

Very nice, well done remodel with lots of character. Wonderful kitchen and cute outdoor space. Great local pub just down the street and good grocery store close by. No bathroom on ground floor. Stairs much steeper, narrower and winding than anticipated. (We grew up in older homes.) Had to leave our large suitcases on ground level. Any one with walking challenges, hip or knee issues will have difficulty.

Things that need fixing

Outstanding location. Upstairs window brace was broken. Kitchen hot water faucet handle not connected so didn’t work. Couldn’t figure out how to turn off mirror light in one bathroom or how to turn on in second. I mention these in this review because I couldn’t get through on phone or by email to property manager to tell about these so doing so here. Didn’t stop us from loving every minute here.

Peaceful retreat, great base to tour surrounding areas

The views from Bankside Cottage were outstanding, we loved spending time in the snug, just looking out over the hills. Blockley was well placed to visit the renowned surrounding villages and National Trust’s Hidcote Garden and Snowshill. Beds were comfortable with crisp linens, towels fluffy and plentiful. Bathrooms clean. Kitchen was well equipped, a fresh pint of milk in fridge on arrival was a welcome touch. Blockley itself was very pretty, loved the local community shop and cafe where we enjoyed breakfast on our final day, plus nearby Chipping Camden. Well-known supermarkets if needed were in Moreton on Marsh a couple of minutes drive away, Wi-Fi and TVs worked well. Loved books on points of interest. Prior to booking had seen mixed reviews about parking however it was fine, we were able to park outside, this is an old quaint village with narrow streets and therefore as expected. Plus there was further parking by shop, if preferred. We knew stairs inside this listed cottage were steep prior to arrival, and used bannisters throughout our stay to be extra careful (something to consider if you have young children or mobility concerns). Similarly stairs in back garden which did have bannister and were well lit. We loved our stay, my only suggestion for improvement would be check in/ out times 16:30 does seem really late to check in would have preferred 15:00 and similarly 10:00 a touch early to check out. Other holiday let’s and hotels used previously it’s usually 15:00 check in and between 11:00 and 12:00 check out which makes stay easier.
