Experience a piece of western history at the beautiful Wyoming Hereford Ranch. Founded in 1883, WHR is the oldest continuous operating registered livestock operation in the United States. Experience a walking tour through historic ranch buildings, unrivaled bird watching along crow creek or a picnic in the parklike setting of the ranch common areas. The property is located approximately 7 minutes from downtown Cheyenne, WY providing guests an oasis on a working cattle ranch with conveniences of a capitol city. Beautiful setting. Easy check-in. We didn’t really cook but the kitchen was well stocked. Owners very accessible. Close to town. Our family had a great time hanging out and enjoying the ranch.

This is a perfect place to stay. It was clean, comfortable and exactly what we needed to finish off a perfect weekend for our daughters wedding at the Wyoming Herford Ranch! We would highly recommend this to anyone looking to stay.

Cute little house away from the crowds!

This was a neat little house away from the crowds from Frontier Days. While the house is older and could use some maintenance and A/C, it suited us. My husband loved the history of the Hereford Ranch. Kristi was quick to respond to any question (including a referral for an emergency dentist).

Peaceful Country Stay

Our stay had some ups and downs. The biggest issue was that we had no running water for about 12 hours due to a pump problem. Thankfully, once I was able to reach the property manager, she responded quickly and worked to resolve it as soon as possible.Aside from that, the home offered a peaceful country living experience. It was quiet, relaxing, and just far enough from Cheyenne to enjoy the calm, but still close enough for convenience. The beds were very comfortable, and the property manager was kind and helpful, which we appreciated.There were a few areas that could use some attention:1. Window seals were dirty and full of bugs, and since there’s no air conditioning, we had to open the windows at night to cool the house down. Unfortunately, some windows didn’t open, and some screens were ripped, which let bugs inside.2. The master bathroom is quite outdated, and the water pressure was very low.Overall, we appreciated the peaceful setting and warm hospitality, but a few maintenance improvements would definitely make future stays more comfortable.

Beautiful Ranch.

Loved being there, having coffee on the porch while watching the cows, the sunrise and sunset!! Ranch is beautiful, private & serene. We enjoyed our stay and would highly recommend it and we will be back!!

Great home for us as the dogs had room to run and play. I stayed in the master room with the king bed and you might have mice or something else living in the walls or attic as I could hear scratching and rustling noises most of the night

Peaceful and relaxing

We had a great stay at the Hereford Ranch, met our needs as we visited our daughters who live in Cheyenne and Laramie. Nice peaceful location, not too far from town, and easy to get to from the interstate.

Incredible stay, we look forward to next visit!

We absolutely loved our visit at Wyoming Hereford Ranch! The home was immaculate, very comfortable, and the most perfect place to relax! The Ranch is very quiet and peaceful yet to close to dining as well friends home! We enjoyed walking our two pups on the extensive grounds. Communication with the host was easy and efficient! We will plan our next visit to Cheyenne around the availability of Wyoming Hereford Ranch!

Cool place to stay Cheyenne

Peaceful ranch on the edge of town. It was really neat to walk around the ranch and see the horses, and birds by the creek. The beds were really comfortable. The only reason I didn't give it full stars is because the light fixture in the bathroom was full of dead bugs, and I didn't open the windows because the space between the window and screen was kind of dirty and had dead bugs.

Comfort with a view

Our stay at the Hereford Ranch was a symbolic step into the past of what ranch life would be like. Even though there were no cattle close by, we could envision with all the buildings it had how much hard work that it would entail. A beautiful place, and easy to get to.

Ranch Life

Home was comfortable. Had everything you needed in the kitchen. Comfortable beds and bedding. Nice thick towels. Kids loved the playground and petting and feeding the horses. One thing to note, no air conditioning.
