Serene Setting on the Platte River

Spacious four bedroom/three full bath home sits nestled in the woods on the Platte River in the Sleeping Bear Dunes Region of Michigan. The property features two master suites, one up and one down. The house is furnished and includes a fully stocked kitchen and linens and bedding are provided for your convenience. There is a large loft for families to gather and watch movies or play games while enjoying the view of the scenic Platte River. Enjoy the outdoors on the large deck equipped with grill and an outdoor dining table. Sit and relax on one of the two docks or drop a line and fish for a bit. A fire pit is available for an evening fire.

The property is located close to the beaches of Lake Michigan. The many outdoor activities available include, kayaking, dune climbing, golf, hiking, biking, miniature golf, skiing, snowmobiling and more. Explore the many lakes in the area, including Platte Lake, Little Platte Lake, Big Glen Lake, Little Glen Lake, Otter Lake and many more. Crystal Mountain Ski Resort is minutes away and is open year round. The quaint towns of Honor, Empire and Glen Arbor are just a few nearby places to dine and shop.

Beautiful peaceful setting right on the river. Plenty of room for people to spread out. House well stocked. Plenty of parking. Plenty of kayaks for floating the river into platte lake. Owner responded quickly to answer questions.

We had another great vacation staying here. As always, the house is clean, spacious, and has a beautiful view of the river. It is conveniently located for trips to the beaches, dunes, and trails.

We really enjoyed our trip. We love the area and its proximity to several locations we were looking to visit. The house worked out and accommodated everyone we had on the trip. The only recommendation I would have is that the house, which has obviously had some upgrades, could be done a bit better in places. That said, we are already looking to book a return trip in the next two years for another family vacation. The biggest surprise to us was how awesome the available kayaks were. We ended up using them every single day, and the kids had so much fun with them.

Honor House on Platte River

The property is wonderful - right on the Platte River near the small town of Honor. Very peaceful! The kitchen is well stocked, lots of towels, and paper goods (towels, toilet paper). Libby is a great host and responded quickly to our questions. We had 6 adults and 3 children and the accommodations were everything we needed. We will definitely rent this place again.

Platte River 4th

Great property right on the Platte River. Close to Beulah and Frankfort. Large enough to accomodate a large group of friends and family. We enjoyed using the provided kayaks.Plenty of parking if your group has multiple vehicles.Would definitely recommend. We had a great 4th of July vacation

What a wonderful house! The river was beautiful with lots of wildlife in the back yard! We did a long girls trip, hiking at sleeping bear dunes and a kayak trip ending right at the house. The access to kayaks was the best part! Close to traverse city for a day of winerys. Will definitly be plannig another trip here soon!

This was our 5th year staying here and it is our absolute favorite. We love the room, the location and it always has everything we need. Libby is a great host and we will definitely be back!

SECOND TIME HERE!! <3

We loved it so much this was our second year in a row. This house is perfect for our combined 4 family vacation and are already looking into next year. The location is perfect for keeping busy in town or venturing out to dunes, bluffs and beaches. The house is perfect for cozy campfire relaxing or canoeing up the river located directly in the backyard.

Great location!

The backyard with the river view is beautiful and peaceful! The house had plenty of room and beds for our group of 3 families. Loved that there were 10 kayaks to use. Kitchen was fully stocked. Perfect location to enjoy esch beach, the dunes, and empire bluffs hike. We loved our stay!

Peaceful Platte River

We loved the setting and utilized the outdoor activities to the fullest—-kayaking, campfire, meals on the deck. It was a wonderful week. We’ll be back next summer!

Honor Vacation July 2024

The house is large, comfortable and well stocked. It was perfect for our family of 6 adults and 3 children eight and under. The setting is serene and beautiful. A couple of evenings when we weren't watching the sunset on a beach, the kids played in the river (with close adult supervision). Libby was a great host. We liked the house so much we've already booked for 2025.

Ideal Location & Cottage

This is a wonderful place to stay. So close to the Platte River with plenty of wildlife and a serene setting. Lots of kayaks for our use, including safety water vests. Lots of parking and different outdoors seating areas for bonfires or reading. The cottage is well equipped with everything needed for a large family to stay a week. The AC in the bedrooms helped for comfortable sleeping at night. The remainder of the house was generally comfortable, but could be warm if the weather was more hot & humid. The owner was very responsive and easy to work with. Overall, we enjoyed our stay and have already booked again for next year.

Relaxing and convenient

We’ve stayed here on our annual family vacation for a number of years. The grandchildren have used the river for swimming and kayaking. Six to eight kayaks are supplied with personal flotation vests. Sadly or you could say joyfully our family has grown with four of the grandchildren married with infants. Next year we must move to a home that can sleep 20, sorry Libby. We love the improvements. Continue improving the property, you have a well positioned home with easy access to all kinds of attractions. We love the Minnie golf in Benzonia, the Sleeping Bear Dunes, and Glenn Haven just to mention a few.

Fantastic house close to everything

Did a weekend ski/hang out with extended family. Lots of places to sleep and numerous beds. The house was very cute with a great view of the Platte River. It had everything we needed. Close to Crystal Mountain and Traverse City so you can ski and shop. Highly recommend this house.
