Picturesque cabin nestled in the woods. Awesome double rocking chair on the landing looks out over the lake which we really enjoyed. The owner met us to give us keys and the lay of the land and it’s clear he keeps the property very well maintained and very clean. The location is great and we had a great time. Local restaurant the Trailside is close - had terrific food and live music too. We will definitely be returning!

It's a beautiful location there is no beach for younger children but they had a great time fishing off the dock.

Thank you for spending time at Camp Critters. As you indicate, there is not a sandy beach at the waterfront area. Most of our guests travel 2 miles to the public beach, on adjoining Indian Lake. Mt. View Lake is well known for its excellent fishing and I'm glad the young children enjoyed their off-the-dock fishing experience.

Perfect Adk stay

This camp is beautiful, it’s super private, and the fishing is great. The screened porch was perfect for taking in the surroundings, reading a book, and listening to the rain. The kitchen was well stocked with supplies for cooking and there was ample room for our family of 6. Cabin has lots of games and badminton on the front lawn was fun. We also enjoyed

A Place to Return To

peaceful getaway

A wonderful cabin with everything there that was needed. Loved being able to canoe, walk, build fires, cook on the grill, play games and enjoy the porch and decks. The area is peaceful and it was a wonderful place to get away and explore the Adirondacks

Camp Critters

This place was amazing. Very clean, very private, beautiful dock and patios, 3 outdoor fireplaces. Doug, the owner, showed us several beautiful hikes on the map that turned out to be outstanding. I highly recommend visiting.

Perfect getaway

This cabin was the perfect getaway for our family. We all loved fishing off the dock, canoeing and taking hikes in the nearby areas. The views were amazing and overall it was just an amazing, peaceful and relaxing place. The cabin was clean and had everything we needed for our stay. We will definitely be back some time in the future!

What a Gem

If you are looking for a place to unwind and enjoy the tranquil lake, listen to loon calls and wake up to the sunrise reflecting on the water, this is the perfect place. We have already booked our stay for 2025 and can't wait to return.

Best Adirondack Property

We had an amazing time at the cabin. Beautiful cabin and views from the dock and sitting areas. Very private and quiet, just what we were looking for. Doug was a great host and we took advantage of a number of his suggestions such as hiking areas and canoe trips. Cabin has every thing you would need and is well kept. We will definitely be back!

Such a perfect Adirondack vacation spot!

Critter Cabin is everything we want in a vacation cabin. This cabin is authentic with every thing we need. Very cozy, clean, quiet. Wonderful views of Mt. View Lake. All the needed amenities for outdoor activities plus great wi-fi. Such peace and quiet. A perfect place for us and our two dogs. Thank you so much Doug for letting us stay here all these years.

Family vacation

Excellent location for a relaxing family vacation. Kids loved the cabin, pets loved the outdoors. Two great places to eat near by, the rest of the time we BBQ'd. Climbed a small Mt., which was perfect for kids, did some trout fishing near by and lake fishing with the canoes. Owner is great and as attentive as you need or dont need. Enjoy

Solitude defined

We spent a wondeful week in the peace and quiet at the cabin. The cabin is clean, comfortable and had everything we needed for a quiet week away on the lake. We kayaked, hiked and fished and enjoyed the solitude. Doug is a great host - he showed us around when we arrived and made sure our stay was everything we expected. Relaxing and picturesque setting

This was a beautiful, relaxing cabin. Our hosts, the Johnson's, have thought of everything and made it available to use. From the canoes and row boat to a walking stick and board games and dvds everything you need for a wonderful vacation is right at your finger tips. Doug also gave us some suggestions for short, easy hikes that were much appreciated. We definitely would recommend this for anyone looking to decompress and unwind from a hectic world.
