Located At Ballhooter Lift- Easy Access to the Mountain/Village

Completely cleaned ML 317 top-to-bottom. You will find our place fresh and clean! New Decks have been installed and the building has a new look! There is a recessed ski rack inside the front door for all of your gear, and quality furnishings throughout. 50" flat screen TV for watching your favorite evening shows. Comfortable queen bed in bedroom and memory foam mattress in sleeper sofa means no springs - sleeps like a bed! New balcony with bistro table. Enjoy your meals outside during Summer months.

Note for Summer 25 - significant interior renovations will be occurring.

ML317 is located on the third floor one unit over from the stairs. Down two flights and across the hall is the exit to the mountain. Of course, there is an elevator if you prefer. Our condo in the wing closest to the Split Rock Pool Complex, the Village, and the Slopes.

We DO NOT ALLOW SMOKING in our condo.

We DO NOT ALLOW PETS in our condo. Due to severe allergies in my family, I cannot allow service animals in this condo. No reservations will be accepted for a party with a service animal.

NO Mountain Bikes in the condo, but there are many on-site bike lockers for you to rent. Go by the front desk for details.

Any violations will result in me keeping the full deposit.

Minimum rental age is 21.

Pool area in Split Rocks is a pay per day facility.

• There will be no lost and found. Ensure you check the condo thoroughly prior to checkout.

Great Weekend right on the slopes

Loved the easy access to the slopes. The building had plenty of amenities and easy access for the village. The bed had a nice firm mattress and the sofa bed had a good memory foam mattress. I would rent again.

Clean unit, convenient location, easy parking

We had a nice stay in Mountain Lodge this weekend. Martin had excellent communication leading up to the stay when there was potential for a power outage (which ended up not being an issue). The property itself was as described. It was very nice that it had clean carpet. If you are looking for a clean, affordable place near the village with easy parking, this is a great option.

Great ski in ski out condo!

Some friends and I chose this ski in ski out condo for our ski trip this year "January 2024" and were well pleased. The correspondence I received from the owner was great. The condo had every convenience that we needed for cooking and sleeping arrangements. I highly recommend this condo or any one of the other condos this host owns at Snowshoe mountain. I've been to Snowshoe mountain over 12 times over the years and have stayed at the mountain lodge several times and it's always been great.

outdated property, seemed that employees understaffed and over worked. room had no pillowcases, hand towels or wash cloths. no trash can bags. slow drains in kitchen and bathroom sink. bad floor stain around toilet. room was a little hot, had to open sliding door to control temp. trash cans in lobby areas overflowing. no restaurant/bar on property

This guest has some valid points if there were not extenuating circumstances. I would have liked to explain the situation in the building to him however he never contacted me at any time throughout his stay to let me know of any of the issues he brought up. There was an extreme cold air mass that came through a couple days prior to his arrival. Mountain Lodge had several water issues with many lines bursting. At one point over half of the 200+ rooms were without water. The staff worked many extra hours to get guests in and out but the lack of water made it tough. That would explain the "understaffed and overworked" comments by this guest, as well as the "trash...overflowing" . Not sure why this guest did not ask for the wash cloths or pillow cases as the front desk could have assisted. I have a note in the kitchen advising to contact me or the front desk. Regarding the "floor stain" in the bathroom, the flooring was put down in Nov 21 and water got underneath it as they put the toilet back in place. So yes it is there but the flooring is almost new. I also installed high quality new carpet as well. The room was painted this past fall. Regarding the outdated property...if this guest required granite countertops and stainless steel appliances, this is not your condo and it is priced accordingly. I offer a clean place with modest furnishings. The building has new siding, new balconies, and is in the process of getting a face-lift on the inside. In all close to $20 MM will be spent. So, you can be the judge if this guest's comments are valid or not.

Great stay. False damage claim

The unit was everything we needed and expected. It is close to the slopes, comfortable, clean, and has all of the basic kitchen and bathroom trinkets needed for an enjoyable stay. The check-in instructions were clear and provided well in advance. But...we received a message from the owner the week after returning home accusing us of breaking (and then throwing away) the drawer in a small kitchen cart that serves as extra counter space. This drawer held the silverware and was broken when we arrived. The front panel of the drawer came off in our hand the first time we opened it and was clearly previously broken. We never dropped it. We did not throw it away. We set it aside and did not use the drawer for the rest of the weekend. It was in exactly the same place and condition when we left as the moment we arrived. We have spent the last 7 days trying to work with the host but they have stopped responding and have charged us a replacement fee for the broken cart - which we will continue to contest. We understand his frustration, but he is not considering any other options (prior tenant, cleaning or repair staff) who could be responsible for this damage or disposing of the evidence.

Good location, average experience

The unit was clean and as pictured and described but just a few touches would've made this average experience a more delightful experience. While the unit itself is close to the stairs, getting to the elevator and then out to the slopes is quite a hike with all of your gear. For us it was doable but if kids are in the mix it would be tiresome. The bed was uncomfortable but after the first night we took the memory foam mattress from the pull out and added it to the regular bed which made a world of difference and allowed us to get a good nights rest. Aside from 2 packets of dishwasher powder and 2 cloths there were no kitchen basics. The 2 cutting knives in the unit were dangerously dull. We ended up purchasing a knife and leaving it there for the next guest to use. At the very least I would have expected liquid dish detergent (again, we purchased some and left it for the next guest), some sort of cleaning wipe or spray and maybe salt and pepper. Perhaps I am spoiled from other rent by owner experiences I have had where basic cleaning supplies were available to us or perhaps I should have clarified prior to our stay but nonetheless I hope this will provide insight for future guests of this unit.

Regarding review 16534139, As the owner, I would like to respond to some of the comments made by this renter. I am glad the unit was clean and as pictured as I pride myself in keeping it up to date. For me it is convenient to the slopes...and yes there are 2 flights of steps as this is a 3rd floor condo. I have 2 condos on the first floor if you do not want to climb steps. As for the bed, the mattress is a semi-firm mattress. Everyone has different sleeping requirements regarding mattress firmness and this renter obviously likes a less firm feel so there is nothing I can do about this condition. I do take offense to the comments about no kitchen basics. There is ample cooking utensils, silverware, knives, and cookware. On top of the frig there is a drawer with all sizes of knives, cooking utensils, etc. This renter must have not looked there prior to going and purchasing a knife. I was just up there yesterday and confirmed this. I also do not agree that this renter should have been caught off guard with the other things that were "expected". My rental contract #11 specifically states what types of things are provided in the rental of the condo. Had they read it there would not have been this misunderstanding. Lastly I would state that this renter never called me or asked any questions prior to their say. I state several times in all my correspondence to call or email me if you have any questions. I gladly provide condo details, details about the area, how to ski the mountain, and anything else I may know.

GREAT location and clean rooms

Martin was a great host and was very quick with communications. Mountain Lodge location is perfect and only takes seconds to be on the slopes right at the Ballhooter lift. The rooms were very clean and had everything we needed. Great stay and a great host!

Wonderful location

Very clean property, great location to ski on/ski off. Loved it was stocked on kitchenware and everything is available to cook with. Only recommendation I have for future renters is to bring a mattress topper. The mattress is very firm.

Mountain Lodge is located next to one of the lifts, so it's ski in ski out. Renting a locker on the ground floor made it even better. So the location was excellent and I had secured parking. The downside was the age of the condo unit. The kitchen appliances were old and the heater was not very precise. So if you want location and ease to ski, this is a good place to stay. If you will be cooking a lot at the unit, perhaps not perfect.

Great Location, Perfect Size.

This location was great to get some skiing in within the winter season. My friend and I both enjoyed this space and thought it was perfect for the recommended 2-4 persons.

Misrepresentation

The room was outdated. It was implied that it had a fire place & hot tub. It did not have either one. The bed room had a big window to the hallway that stayed lighted all night without blackout curtains. *** could really use a makeover!!!***

Normally, I just let these reviews go by without responding, but in this case I feel like I need to defend myself and this condo from what Mr Rising is stating. First for the room outdated part...Mountain Lodge is a 40 year old facility. There is only so much that can be done in a place like this. The building is in the middle of a multi-million dollar renovation to the siding and decks which will be nice, and there will be changes on the inside as well - this is being worked on during Summer months. As for this condo, it does not have stainless steel appliances or a granite countertop but what is in there works. There was a fresh coat of paint put on the wall, the oak cased good furniture is solid/timeless. The TV is updated, etc. Sure it is not a king's castle, but it is a clean rental condo in a 40 year old building. I will look into the blackout curtains, but the staff is supposed to turn down those lights in the evenings after 10PM. As for the fireplace and hot tub, I believe Mr Rising did not read though my description or the additional information I provided to him prior to check in. It states in multiple places the the Split Rocks Pool complex is a pay per day facility and I state there is a large fireplace in the lobby area. I have been doing this since 2006 and seen many reviews and while I will take the blackout curtains as a suggestion for the future, I feel that this particular review is an unfair description of the property.
