These insects can enter through the smallest gaps. While we understand they may be unpleasant, they are not harmful or hazardous to humans or pets. We hope to be able to welcome you back again soon.

This issue arose from a misunderstanding, but we have since improved our instructions to prevent any future confusion. Please be assured that we take great care to ensure the house is warm and cosy, with an ample supply of hot water. Rectory Barn is kept toasty warm with a wood-burner, interlined curtains, and remote-controlled skylight blinds. We take pride in our comfortable beds and are delighted that you enjoyed the local pub. We hope to be able to welcome you back again soon.

We are sorry to hear that you thought StayCotswold were not helpful when you asked about an earlier check in. Sadly, StayCotswold do not manage or prepare this property for guest arrivals so we are unable to authorise early check ins, we are sorry if this was not explained to you when you enquired. The property manager is the best person to contact as they coordinate the housekeepers so they would know if the property was going to be ready an earlier. We do hope that you will be back to stay again soon!

With its church, village green, and local pub, along with easy access to nearby towns via the Fosse Way, it is indeed an ideal setting for a relaxing stay. We are also pleased that you were able to enjoy The Fox, part of an award-winning group of local pubs known for both its food and lively events such as quizzes and live music. We are sorry to learn that the lounge furniture did not meet your expectations. While we aim to offer a variety of seating options, we value your comments and would welcome any specific suggestions you may have for improvement. With regard to the beds in the third bedroom, the antique frames were selected to fit beneath the sloping ceiling, and the mattresses are standard 3ft singles of good quality. That said, we fully appreciate that comfort is subjective. Had we been aware during your stay, we could have arranged for the beds to be joined and provided a larger mattress topper and duvet—an option that has proven popular with other guests seeking additional space. In terms of the heating, our property information explains that the house is heated via an air source heat pump controlled through an app, and we also provide electric heaters for additional comfort. We note that radiator valves can occasionally be adjusted despite guidance provided. We are glad to hear you enjoyed using the wood-burning stove, which many guests find enhances the winter cottage experience. Following your feedback, we will ensure our housekeeping team checks that all radiator valves are correctly set prior to guest arrival. Richard, our House Manager, aims to respond promptly and thoughtfully to guest enquiries. I am sorry if on this occasion his response did not meet your expectations, as he works to strike a careful balance between being attentive and not intrusive.
