We had an excellent stay at the stables. Beautiful place with a big kitchen and a private garden.

We stayed at the stables for one week. The place was very beautiful and had all the facilities we needed, except for a coffee maker. The large kitchen with lots of utensils made it easy to prepare food. One minor detail was the lighting: in the evening, the available lights were quite bright. Smaller, cozier lights could greatly improve the ambiance.

Excellent spot for an extended stay or even a short one. Quiet and peaceful location with lots of privacy. Wickham square is minutes down the road by car with shops and pubs and and excellent pasty shop. Honestly, we didnt have a bad meal there. The property is well maintained and we really enjoyed our stay. The in floor heating kept everything comfortable and the bathroom had all the amenities. The kitchen is nicely equipped and we had enough storage and equipment for teas and basic meals. We will be booking again for our next visit to southern England.

This placr has seclusion, privacy and a lovely tucked away feel. Plenty of parking. Kitchen is fully equipped. Tastefully decorated. The improvements required are that the bedframe is quite flimsy, metal framed. The duvet covers seemed to be quite worn, pillows were not plump at all. The sofa in the front room was not comfortable at all, small and more designed for a child's playroom. TV was also on a very low table this was not suitable sitting on the sofa. Additionally, given the very hot weather there was no ac/fan provided, which was expected as standard. Would stay here again but those improvements are needed.

Thank you for taking the time to leave a review. We’re pleased to hear that you enjoyed the seclusion, privacy, parking, fully equipped kitchen and décor. We do, however, feel it’s important to put some of the comments into context. The concerns regarding the bedframe, duvet covers, pillows, sofa and TV are personal preferences, and we have not received similar feedback from our other reviews regarding these items. We appreciate that comfort and style can vary from guest to guest. Regarding the lack of air conditioning/fans, these are not normally expected as standard in UK accommodation. Unfortunately, your stay coincided with an exceptionally severe period of hot weather in the UK. We did try to bulk-order fans for the property, but due to the unprecedented demand across the country, suppliers were experiencing delays of approximately 2–4 weeks. We always take guest feedback seriously and will continue to look for ways to improve the experience for future guests. We’re glad that, despite these points, you said you would stay with us again.

Lovely stay

I stayed at the Stables for nearly three weeks March/April for rehab for a knee injury. From the get go the host was very courteous and extremely helpful. He even came over when I was struggling with working the hob (my bad). The Stables is well stocked with utensils and crockery etc and has lovely views. I too received visits from baby deer and loved having horses as my neighbours ! Just one thing I would ask the host to put in a bigger sofa

Unforgettable

I stayed at the house for almost a month and it was memorable. It's comfortable, beautiful, and cozy. Very safe. A quiet neighborhood, with the morning visit of a cute and shy squirrel. This is definitely where I will stay again when I am in England.

Wonderful stay at the stables

The setting of the stables is beautiful and private. We had great internet which we needed for work. Everything inside the stables was top notch and beautifully decorated. Great mattress so comfortable. Will definitely recommend and stay again.

We arrived to the property and it looks amazing with wonderful grounds We went inside to a clean and tidy property with a amazing fire burnerThere is a lovely village near by where you can get food and drinks totally recommend the Indian restaurant,Will be staying at The stables again

Stylish, secluded retreat. BBQ and patio appreciated. Waste land immediately round property needs attention. No welcome tea tray. No guest book. Loved the deer out front, and the silence.

A Delight

The Stables, Wickham is a delightful holiday property in a peaceful location overlooking a grassy paddock where deer, foxes, etc can be observed. Well designed and beautifully appointed, it is fitted out in a simple understated style which complements the building. The provision of under floor heating and a wood burner would make it attractive at any time of the year. We couldn't fault it, M & R

Beautiful, secluded cottage in a quiet area

This is one of my favorite stays ever! The approach to this cottage is down quiet country lanes with gorgeous views. The cottage itself is situated right next to a field but there is plenty of shade and a screen of trees for privacy from the road. You cannot really see any other homes from this property so it truly is private and quiet.The cottage contains everything you might need including kettle, microwave, iron, plenty of towels, pots & pans, dishes and a nice TV. As a bonus there is nice grill area outside. The only downside is the sofa which sags and is not very comfortable. However, this is offset by all the positive attributes and in the end, we really didn't even use the sofa so much and when we did, we propped up the seats with cushions to make it more comfortable. I feel like the pictures in this listing do not do it justice. The setting is beautiful and the building itself is well made and well kept. The inside is spacious and bright during the day and there is nice lighting for evenings. I just loved our stay here and if we are ever in the area again I would be delighted to stay here once more.

Séjour à la campagne

Le cottage est magnifique, bien équipé et confortable. Un endroit idéal pour se reposer et visiter les alentours en voiture : Southampton , Porthmouth, Île de Wight et Brighton. Une connexion internet de haut niveau : merci StarLink ! Malheureusement le temps n’a pas permis de tester le barbecue. Si nous en avons l’occasion, nous reviendrons avec plaisir
