The Historic Powhatan Resort offers guests a little piece of colonial history with the restored Manor House (circa 1735). Nestled among 256 acres of beautiful woodland, this resort is loaded with fun things to see and do, and learn a little bit of American history.

All rentals are self-catering, cleaned before your arrival and cleaned once you depart. You may choose to have a Mid Stay Clean for an additional fee during your stay to freshen the property back up.

- All Guest Suites are Non-Smoking

- Please note that every attempt will be made to accommodate requests for suite location and early arrivals; however, these requests are based on availability and occupancy. Unfortunately, the resort is unable to guarantee room location.

- Minimum age requirement for check-in is 21 years of age.

- Pets are not permitted and strictly enforced with the exception of Service Animals.

**Pool Details:
Indoor Pool: Daily 8 am-10 pm , Outdoor Pools: Open for swimming and sunning from Mid April through late October 8 am -10 pm, weather permitting. In the case of thunder, both indoor and outdoor pools close for a half hour after the thunder passes.

ADDITIONAL COSTS: $21 per day resort fee due at check in.

Resort Fee includes WiFi, business center, indoor pool, racquet ball, and boarding pass printing. Plus access to all other onsite amenities.

The Welcome Center will send a detailed arrival letter to you via email with check in instructions, late arrival info, everything you will need once you make your final payment on your reservation. If you have paid in full for your reservation, a detailed arrival letter will be sent as soon as possible.

PLEASE NOTE: Your reservation will be made in the name of the person making the purchase, if additional names need to be added to your reservation for check in purposes (arriving on different flights, etc), please notify us at the time of purchase or at least 7 days prior to arrival date of the additional names that should be permitted to check in. If a name is not on the reservation they will not be permitted to check in, no exceptions.

From booking to checking in to entering our house to enjoying the house, enjoying the , pool, the golf course the playground …. I could go on and on. Everything was PERFECT! Close to stores and markets, on site grills and even close to a park with pavilions and more. Our family trip of 2024 was absolutely EPIC and it started with the location and amazing house. We will be back !

Very Happy

Our group was very happy to stay at the Historic Powhatan Resort--it was immaculate and very comfortable. I did find myself wanting information about the swimming pool and athletic facilities, their hours and location. This information was not obviously available in the apartment, online, or in the packet of information that we received. That sofa bed was SO comfortable!! We enjoyed our stay very much.

Old Box TVs from the 80s

We have stayed at Historic Powhatan Resort for many years. This is the first time we've had old TVs. We stayed in a 4 bedroom lockoff, and 4 out of the 5 TVs were very old box TVs, one of which was a very small one in a large entertainment center, which couldn't be watched because the remote didn't belong to that tv. And one of the bedrooms didn't have a tv at all. The outside temps were in the 90s, and yet the outdoor pool was not open yet. This was in May, in Williamsburg. The outdoor pool was also an eyesore, with big boxes stacked up everywhere. One evening the playground couldn't be used because every piece of equipment was covered with rowdy teenagers. Considering the place is crawling with security, why were they allowed to stay there?

Great location but property itself could have been better

Location was great and the condo itself was spacious. However, they were clearly understaffed and the condo needed a lot of maintenance. Two dressers were broken, a washer and dryer and dishwasher were usable but required manual changing of cycles or else they ran continuously, the kitchen was not well-equipped with cooking utensils, the bathroom toilet was not bolted to the floor, and the ceiling collapsed into the condo below. However, if we called the staff requesting items (a pan, a vacuum) they were friendly and responsive. The condo was not as clean as I would expect it to be and compared to other VRBOs that we have stayed at, We probably would not choose this property again.

Space worked well for family to stay for graduation weekend. Gave us a home base for all activities

Checkin process was longer that expected and I believed that I had rented a first floor place and they wanted to give ne a third floor walk up unit which wouldn't work with my 83 year old mother. Luckily they were able to work with me to find us a suitable space. After that all went well

Would not come back

I called before booking to make sure the property had handicap accessible rooms. I then wrote the property manager to verify that we would get a handicap accessible room. When we got there it was not noted on our account. The front desk did there best fo fix it. They moved us from a third floor lockout to a first floor but there were still steps that we had to deal with to get into the property. It was stressful. The furniture was not clean. A screen door was broke. We were not told that we needed to bring our own gulf clubs for the miniature golf. The staff at the property was very nice though

Not to the standard I expected

On the website and during check-in the resort and staff made several references to COVID-19 and their updated cleaning processes. I do not know what the standard was before the pandemic but the level of cleanliness was subpar at best. The doors, counter surfaces, and microwave were all dirty. There was glitter all over the couch, it was obvious someone had a party in the condo prior to our arrival, I hope they had a good time. We had a small issue with one of the televisions and one of the maintenance persons that came to help made muliple rude and passive-aggressive comments to my family members. This was reported to the front desk and we recieved no follow-up. Since we booked this resort through VRBO the resort expected us to sit through a sales presentation for time share opprotunities. Overall the amenaties and the service did not meet expectation and I would not recommend this resort or return for any other occassion.

Not at all what was advertised

Everything about this facility was not good. Couldn’t get checked in at 4:00 because “linens truck didn’t come” so couldn’t finish rooms but you have to check out by 10:00. Place was dirty when arrived. Paper pieces in hallways and room. Top of fridge which was at eye level was filthy. Wallpaper pealing off hallways. Dresser broken. Showers not older age friendly to get in and out or big enough for larger person. Kitchen hardly had any cooking stuff in it and utensils had to have been from the dollar store. Paper towels never came until night of 2nd day. Pull out sofas were to already have sheets, blankets, pillows in rooms and wasn’t & didn’t get delivered until 8:45 that first night. Advertised as 4 bedroom and 4 bath but was actually 2 separate units of 2 bedrooms, w bathrooms, kitchen with key cards to get into each unit and we were family of 10. 3 sets of steps just to get to first unit and we had elderly and COPD person with us and steps were a problem. Couldn’t do mini gold without your own club and ball due to COVID but the pool was open to limited numbers at time but they weren’t wiping chairs. Everything was just terrible about this stay!l except spending time with family.

Great place to stay

We came to stay with several family members and kids for Busch Gardens Christmas town. The lock out units were great. Everyone commented on how great a place it was to stay. In the morning we took the kids to the indoor pool, showered them there, and wrote letters to Santa at the activities center. Would definitely stay again. Great place for a family to get together!

Wonderful time.

We had a wonderful stay. We had 4 couples stay and the whole time was great. Close to everything we wanted to see. Indoor and outdoor pool was so nice. Everything was very clean. Staff was very polite.

Cockroaches

Our place had cockroaches all in the kitchen in both the downstairs unit and the upstairs unit roach eggs droppings were all in the cabinets and behind the refrigerator which was disgusting yes it was cleaned up as soon as we notified them And they offered to move us but where you have one cockroach you have multiple cockroaches in each unit there was a cockroach in the refrigerator in the upstairs unit. Will never stay there again

Nice accommodations but a little dated

Overall, I have nothing to complain about. The reservation, booking, and check-in process were super easy. The check-in person was extremely informative. (Note: skip the "discount" discussion.) We had a 2 unit "lock off" meaning our family had a 2 bd/2 ba condo one one level and our friends had another 2bd/2ba condo below us. It worked out well. Everything was clean, orderly, and working but our unit was very dated and showed a lot of wear. Of course, you can't really see that in the pictures. Beds were comfy, the kitchen was fully stocked with pots, pans, and utensils. We did need some extra towels and the front desk delivered them to us promptly. The wi-fi was unstable at times, too. Anyway, Greensprings is close to everthing - Colonial Williamsburg, Outlets, restaurants, 45 mins to VA Beach, etc. We had a nice time and don't have anything negative to say about the resort or our room except that we would have liked a more modern, less worn room.

Grounds and hospitality were lovely. Location a bit less convenient than I thought it would be. Property has some deferred maintenance that could be addressed. Wi-fi not reliable for the entire group. Sales pitch was offered too frequently.

Great location but the Condo was dated

Enjoyed visit. The furniture was uncomfortable and the condo needed updating. Parking the first night was fine but Saturday night we were blocked in by people double parked. We had a few minor issues with electrical and plumbing but they were resolved quickly.

Wonderful staff. Friendly. Check in needs to be researched and times shortened. Bags of dirty linen met us at our door for several hours. Picked up promptly once I requested. The balconies had not been swept or cleaned and were not usable. Others in our group were able to use theirs. Not time in our schedule to take advantage of all amenities - but they seemed quite nice. Beds are very very comfortable!
