Thank you for a superb weekend at your beautiful Weir House. If we could score you higher we would. Comfortable beds and lovely bedding and the location is great. Puzzlewood is a must see!

Fabulous location

Our annual girls weekend away this year took us to the beautiful Weir House in Symonds Yat. The house is well equipped, the bedrooms are large and airy and there are plenty of bathrooms. The outside space was well used as the sun was still shining in October, and it’s lovely having parking across the road. The food at The Saracens Head pub next door is very good and we booked a breakfast with them before our drive home, what a feast ! We also went to the Ye Old Ferrie Inn for a Sunday roast (booking advised) via the little ferry, another tasty lunch. The river cruise and walk up to Symonds Yat rock were both highlights. The area is really beautiful and everyone we met was so friendly. We also stopped at Puzzlewood, another wow moment,

Lovely house

We stayed in Weir House as our annual get together for 5 old friends. The owner was really accomodating and we were able to settle in earlier than expected. The house was beautifuuly equipped with everything we needed and more. The outside patio overlooking the river was delightful in the sun. The bedrooms were light and bright and there were more than enough bathrooms for 5 females. We ate in the Saracens Head and found everyone to be really friendly . Highly recommend Weir House.

Fabulous house in great location

We very much enjoyed our stay at Weir House. Much bigger than we expected! Particularly impressed by the well set up kitchen. Could have used a slightly bigger bed in the bedrooms, but they were very comfortable. Wonderful views and loved being so close to the pub.

Fabulous location

Well equipped, spacious property overlooking River Wye. Private parking a bonus. Lovely Inn next door with restaurant. Great for walking and cycling with no need to take the car. Will definitely return.

A wonderful stay at Symonds Yat

My friends and I had a great stay at The Weir House on a trip to the Forest of Dean. Great location and terrific space and facilities.

Excellent property

This is a well located, equipped and appointed property which was a real home from home. No expense has been spared in the quality of its decoration or fittings. All the family much enjoyed their stay and it was nice to find a some milk, biscuits and prosecco as welcome gifts on arrival.

We are a family of 8 adults and stayed at this beautiful house for my mum's 80th birthday weekend. It was perfect and we couldn't have asked for anything more. Although we had visited Symonds Yat for days out many times over the years, it was great to experience this picturesque spot after the day trippers had left and it became incredibly quiet and peaceful. The house itself was top quality with stunning views from all bedrooms and the patio. The spacious kitchen and dining areas were well equipped and had everything you could want to cater for a large family. I would absolutely recommend a stay at the Weir house to anyone. We would all love to stay again, perhaps for my mum's 90th!

Great location and would go again!!

We stayed for 3 nights with a group of adults and children, great layout and brilliant location. Area is quiet at night and buzzy during the day. Nice bottle of complementary bubbly, biscuits and milk on arrival!

Next to a pub, with good beer and food, but quiet with a bit of a buzz in the middle of the day, but quiet morning and from late afternoon; perfect. Comfy bed, good quality sheets. Well supplied kitchen for cooking and entertaining

Can highly recommend Weir cottage. The location is perfect, on Wye Valley path. Peaceful and beautiful views of the river wye with pub next door. The house was clean and well stocked. Would definitely return.

A superb property. Excellently furbished with everything needed. Good car parking across the road Extensive outside seating area with lovely views over the Wye. Located next door to the pup which has a very good menu and selection of ales. Numerous walks from the house

Great stay

Lovely, big house. Well equipped and comfy beds. Plenty of space for 4 friends, and would be plenty big enough for 8. Really handy to have the parking directly opposite. Great base for outdoor activities including walking and paddle boarding. Ate at the pub next door on the first night which was great.

Perfect holiday rental in a beautiful location

Attentive owners looking after our every need. Exceptionally well equipped kitchen, beautifully renovated throughout. Overlooking the River Wye and watching the kayakers was the cherry on the cake.

Wet and windy weekend!

Wild weather weekend didn't bother us as we were totally comfortable and warm in front of the wood burner! Great walking location, wonderful property, shhhh don't tell anyone!

Perfect for family and friends

The house is in the most perfect location with amazing views, right on the banks of the river wye and next door to the owners lovely pub / hotel, The Saracens Head. The house is very well equiped and would cater well for both families and a group of friends looking for a relaxed stay. I stay at the pub/hotel many times on business and its always a pleasure to come back, especially with my family. Can't recommend it highly enough.

Peaceful birthday retreat

Had an excellent bank holiday weekend relaxing by the Wye, celebrating a big birthday. The house is really clean, freshly re-done and really well equipped to cook food for 8 or more, or failing that, well located to go to the pub next door. Lots to explore in the area, and simple check in process. The terrace is great for catching the late afternoon sun and watching the world go by!

There were numerous walks and cycling opportunities from the doorstep as well as a variety of water activities. A perfect stay!

This is the best short term rental I have EVER experienced. The views from the windows are stunning and inside the attention to detail is amazing. Everything you might need has been thought of and provided: excellent internet and copious plugs with USB ports; hair driers in every room; a lovely and perfectly equipped kitchen. How nice to be welcomed with plenty of milk, as well as a bottle of fizz and chocolate treats. Plus, the pub next door welcomed us with a great dinner and fabulous service. We will for sure be back!

Surprise 60th birthday weekend

Wow what a property. It has everything. Perfect location with easy parking and lovely views across the Wye River. Renovated to a very high standard with large kitchen diner to eat and relax with snug area having large screen TV all to accommodate 3 generations of our family. The property had everything for us to have a lovely weekend with great pub next door for fabulous food and drinks with lovely walks and water sport facility nearby. We highly recommend this facility and look forward to booking again in the future. Thank you to the owners again.

Perfect house for family gathering

The house was very well situated; my parents loved to be able to watch people coming and going along the river and the road outside whilst sitting in comfort on the terrace. The house was very well equipped and certainly plenty of space for the 6 of us and would easily accommodate the 8. Clean and tidy upon arrival and we were grateful to be able to have an early check in and late check out. No traffic or people noise inside the house. Very useful car parking area for 4 cars, very important during busy months. The sun shined all weekend, we were very lucky.
