Still some openings in June and August for summer 2026. OR: Why not consider a winter or spring rental? Quiet beaches and gorgeous weather. Work from home at the beach and watch the weather from the cozy couch.
Summer 2026 is filling up.
4 bedrooms, 2.5 baths. King Primary suite with views of the marsh and a large en suite bath with double sink, marble vanity, and tile. Home sleeps 8. First-floor open living plan with gorgeous water views. Cable TV and Wifi.
Gas fireplace. Relax at the end of the day on the back porch with a glass of wine.
Step out the back to kayak for miles on the Webhannet River, a tidal river in the Rachel Carson Wildlife Preserve. Kayaks and life vests included.
Walk across the street to 4 miles of sandy Wells Beach, to walk, swim, make sandcastles, or watch the waves. Kids will love to play in the tidal pools formed every day.
So many great restaurants with fresh seafood nearby. Mike's clam shack, The Lobster pound, The Bitter End. Congdon's After Dark Food Trucks is 1 mile away.
Fishing, boat rides, and lobster tours are just a 10-minute walk north out of the scenic Wells Harbor. Walk 10 minutes south to shopping, Forbes, The Beach Comber, The Roll-Over Cafe, and the famous Arcade.
Explore Ogunquit 10 miles to the south, walk the Marginal Way, or visit quaint Kennebunkport village 10 miles to the north.

Lovely Stay

We really enjoyed our stay at Flip Flop- the house is lovely, the view over the marsh from the back porch is wonderful and the kayaks were a lot of fun - this was our second visit and we hope to return again!

Great stay

The house was a perfect fit for our family, with plenty of room. Very clean, had everything we needed (no need to bring beach chairs, towels, sheets, etc) Gray was very attentive and answered all our questions promptly. We would love to rebook this house for future vacations!

Great location

The house was perfect for our group of friends and family. Big kitchen and dining room to share meals, great back deck over looking the marsh. And best part is the beach right across the street. No need to drive or park. The house comes fully stocked with everything you need for cooking. Beds were comfortable. No AC, but the cool breeze off thearsh kept the house very comfortable!

Wonderful vacation with family

We had such an amazing time at the Flip Flop house. The house has everything you need. They have kayaks, sand toys, beach chairs. The kitchen is fully stocked. It was a huge relief not to have to bring all the extras like the beach chairs, etc. The location is amazing, the back of the house looks out on the marsh, and you are across the street from the beach. Close to the arcade and the shops. Would highly recommend and hope to stay again at the Flip Flop next year!

Best beach stay ever

Can’t say enough good things about this property and this host! The house is clean and well appointed, everything you need and want in a home away from home. The attention the detail is awesome. The host has thought of everything, the outdoor shower with foot rinse, plenty of parking , a place to sit and take your shoes off, a clothes line, kayaks with life jackets, phone chargers, outdoor furniture to sit and watch the amazing sunsets, beach towels… I could go on and on. The location was ideal, just a few minutes across the street from the beach, a short walk to the arcade and cafe and seafood. Our family had plenty of room in this beautiful, clean, bright house and we’re already planning on next year!

Why walk when you can kayak?

This is a beautiful property. Despite not being directly on the beach, it is just steps away due to the public beach access. This has a great view of the marsh which looks great as the sun sets. The available kayaks allowed the rest of our group to join us on the river which we took advantage of most days. We happened to have the best week of weather this summer which did make me wish there was air conditioning. The beds were comfortable. The house was clean and had most everything we needed. Also, the owner was very responsive.

Crustacean Crazy Abode

Wonderful week at the Flip Flop!! We have been at numerous homes in the Wells area over the years and this was of the best. Plenty of room w/ a beautiful outdoor deck overlooking the marsh (we even had a bald eagle in a nearby tree most of the week). Kitchen was the best equipped of all rentals!! Clean, well cared for and nicely appointed home. Owner and care taker were very responsive to the very few issues that occured. We will go back next year if Gray will have us!!

5 stars beach house !

Perfect vacation at FlipFlop beach house at Wells, ME Everything was as expected. Fully agree with other comments from past vacationners Very clean Owner were very friendly and helful for any questions. Beach is only 2 minutes walk. This is a must. We will come back for sure.

Lovely stay

Absolutely beautiful marsh view. Home exactly as pictured, very spacious and comfortable. Kitchen well stocked. Host was very responsive and very friendly, she helped us figure out where to put kayaks into the marsh. It's basically right across the street from the beach and about a 10 minute walk down to Beachcomber/Forbes. My friends loved staying here. (And if you've never been to Wells before you're definitely in for a treat.) Only odd thing was VRBO essentially made me buy property damage insurance despite already paying a standard deposit... Still not sure why this happened. Keep your eye out for that while reserving.

Wonderful beach house in Wells

Highly recommend this beach house. It was one of the cleanest houses we have rented in that area. The owner was very responsive with any questions and even provided a very thoughtful welcome gift. They have everything you need right there. The views of the Marsh has amazing especially at sunset!

Great stay at the Flip Flop

Gray was a fantastic host! There’s so many extras that come with the cottage to make the stay special. A wonderfully warm little greeting card along with a welcome gift and a binder full of info for everything in and around the area awaited us upon check in. The back porch overlooking the marsh was quite lovey. You’ll have no wants staying at the Flip Flop. Highly recommended!

Fabulous Flip Flop

Gray, Thank you so much for hosting my family at Flip Flop at the very last minute. 50 years of living in New England had never taken me to Wells Beach, but our stay at Flip Flop has made us believers. The house was perfectly accommodating, the neighbors were friendly and helpful, and the sunsets were spectacular. The short walk to the beach even pleased my difficult 7 year old. Then there is Wells Beach! Just a gem! We will seriously consider a return in the future. Best, The Gaumonts

Great place!

The listing and photos were accurate. Gray was extremely responsive, her emails were friendly, she was very accommodating and we would absolutely rent from her again. There were 8 adults on this trip and the house was great. Never felt crowded, had everything we needed and was a very short walk to the beach!

Had a great week at the Flip flop house.It had lots of space for 6 adults and a toddler. Nicely stocked with equipment. Back porch offered great views of the marsh.Quiet a d peaceful! Beach a short walk across the street .Gray and her family very responsive and easy to work with.

Amazing week

This house is better than a five star hotel. Excellent location, always very clean, and very comfortable. The owner goes above and beyond to make sure everything is perfect for our week. We always have an amazing time and create wonderful memories for our families.

Damage deposit refund???

In the 30 years we have rented in Wells we never had a damage deposit not refunded. We rented from one family for 25 years and they did not ask for a damage deposit & complimented us on the cleanness of the property on our departure. I could not believe what I read and had majority of the Damage Deposit withheld. When I sent my rebuttal to the owners claim, she acknowledged in an email what she claimed was damaged preceded our stay. I asked her to add her response to the VRBO message board and have not heard from her. Followed up by pictures of how the condition was of the floors were when we left. Pictures which I question, showed a few strains of hair on a bathroom floor. This caused 2 extra hours?? of cleaning by the cleaners. During the week when we swept we constantly swept up dog hair. Which makes me question the job the cleaning crew did prior to our arrival. Prior to leaving the bathroom & kitchen counters were washed down and floors swept by us. The cleaning crew showed up early and we let them start cleaning, at no time did they say anything about the cleanliness of the property. They did mention that towels needed to be cleaned and returned. There was maybe 2 towels, one blue towel was left hanging in the master bathroom when we arrived, along with the clogged toilet I had to pull a large ball of toilet paper out of so it wouldn't over flow. The cleaners said they would clean the towels. Was that the 2 hours extra cleaning? Unfortunately for us the family we rented from for years sold their Wells Beach properties after their parents passing. The rating for the stay is for the whole experience and the dealing over the damage deposit has soured our vacation. I am not sure if the owner is being told a story by the cleaners but as of today the Damage Deposit funds have been held back based on erroneous information. Someone profited at our expense for a fabrication.

Truly home away from home!

We absolutely loved staying at your house. It was so easy to just walk to the beach to go for an early morning run or a beach expedition. Your house is beautiful. Plus, you have thought of everything...from a fully stocked kitchen to plenty of beach toys. We couldn't have asked for more for our family reunion. Thanks for everything!

Wonderful stay!

We had a wonderful family holiday at this spacious , airy cottage, close to beach access and with beautiful marsh views. There were initially some issues with cleaning lapses, but Gray responded immediately to make things right. We will definitely return!

I have been coming to Wells Beach since I was born. My family has had property at the beach since the early 1900's. My grandfather was a lobster man in Wells and Ogunquit. He originally worked from a dory out of the old wells harbor across from the Wells fire house. (Now gone)
Wells Beach Maine is my happy place. Families return year after year.

I grew up coming to Wells Beach in the summer. My mother, grandmother and great grandmother also came to Wells. Wells is wonderful all year round. I now appreciate spending quiet time by the fire during the winter. And walks on the beach that I have almost all to myself.
Wells is a family place where people return year after year and neighbors all know each other and look out for one another.

O que faz essa propriedade ser única?

A glass of wine or a mock-tail on the back deck while watching the sunset over the Marsh is a highlight of every day. Pulling a kayak right out back into the marsh and rowing for hours is the best way to see the marsh and enjoy the waterfowl.
